I'm thinking it wouldn't do any harm to give the MW/GP a ring WItty , though truly I think it's probably nothing. But would hopefully set your mind at ease?

StiffyByng · 09/09/2010 11:23

Casserole, I love it. I'm going to try to work up the courage to say that - it'll probably take me 9 months.

Muser · 09/09/2010 11:37

StiffyByng quite feminist? Do you wear nice feminist colours somewhere else? This is all very intriguing.

OP posts:
StiffyByng · 09/09/2010 12:40

Yes, I do! I can't face being secret in TWO places and I spotted you straight away.

OkieCokie · 09/09/2010 12:53

muser that sounds grim. I think you should get down to that there doctors toute suite and demand drucks.

Not sure what to do on the poo wit. No harm in going to Dr too, who may be able to confirm if it is a bug or something else which I doubt it is...

Wonder how moo is getting on with the glucose test..

Ski that is funny - I put you down as a flip flop wearing lavender fields hippy with dreads....

OkieCokie · 09/09/2010 13:07

Side note to cass are you associated to same hospital this time round per chance? I feel more in control because I have elected to go elsewhere. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the hospital I went to before and they did take pretty good care of me I just think walking through the doors of the same place would not stand me in best place mentally to go through it again. Also, I requested and have received my maternity notes from the hospital relating to what happened last time. I have been a coward and have not opened them yet but I am sending them to my new hospital today and will go through them with consultant next week. Main aim of this is for closure for me, to discuss and ascertain what happened and why (head in sand up until now) and hopefully gain some reassurance (if that is possible) that it was just one of those things and not necessarily likely to happen again. For me it is just a way of handling it and taking a different approach this time round. I am with you on the elective c-section and totally understand your decision.

Casserole · 09/09/2010 13:10

Did you Okie? I'm sorry. Hope it wasn't too major a one (that doesn't look right but you know what I mean). I looked in the mirror 2 days later and burst into tears! I didn't realise a person could be that colour... yes, we iz stoopid enough to be here again. What gives?

Muser I think all the PESHes should come with you and en masse demand the good drucks tomorrow.

Or perhaps any of us who've had them should all rummage in our medicine cabinets and each send you a few leftovers...

Casserole · 09/09/2010 13:13

I had an independent MW last time Okie. So although I'm going back to the same local hospital this time, they didn't do any of my care last time (well, until the very final throes) so I feel okay about that. I can see how that would have helped though if they'd been more involved last time. That's a good plan.

The PPH was though one of the few times in my life when being a greedy caaaah worked in my favour - apparently if I'd been tiny and lost the same amount of blood I'd have been in quite serious trouble. So the moral is.... eat lard and live! Huzzah!

Medee · 09/09/2010 13:17

mm, am intrigued by Stiffy - if she knows Muse from where I know Muse, then she knows me too.

StiffyByng · 09/09/2010 13:19

The internet is too small!

rollerbaby · 09/09/2010 13:29

yoo hoo, here I am finally. Have just re-read last few days properly!

I am lying in my bed feeling slightly feeble and weak but luckily just had fry up with toast (couldn't be arsed to make anything else was so starving). Leetle sleep due now...

So much to say, so in no particular order:

stiffy welcome o' feminist secret one... so what's this with you a muso? Most intriguing.

Cho cho also have anterior placenta (high) and didn't feel baybee till at least 21 weeks and then got a kick in the cervix at work one day which made me practically grab my foofy and wail "don't do that again!". Know how you feel though... you just want to feel something! Depending on outcome of tomorrow we should discuss siting of drinks trolley and buffet for our homebirths, non?

ski mucho guffaw at your predicted birth order. How on earth could you tell that I have about as much patience as a man in John Lewis? Mr Moo is already threatening to move out during impending maternity leave... I have started a list. He doesn't like my lists. And yes the initial measurement of bump was at GPs - they do shared care here for some of appointments, although basicaly down to you if you want to see MW or GP. I won't be going back there again, its just a pain in the arse if you do have something that needs further investigation. As it happens GP was wrong - more like 6 weeks out, not 5!

muso get thee to a doctor. Blood in vomit ain't big or clever and frankly WTF are you doing at work feeling that bad????!!! ski had drucks that helped so they must be able to do somefink. don't be running anywhere as well, ok?

twittwoo call your MW or the delivery suite asap. Its no bother to them and you will be reassured no end. Is a bit weird to have it for 3 days, normally gone in 24 hours non? I felt daft calling delivery suite out of hours but the mw was lovely on phone and said had done exactly the right thing. I can't imagine baybee is coming along yet but there may be something else they need to check or somefink.

casserole don't be worrying about homebirth horror stories, I la la la ed throughout, deeply inhaling my jo malone candles whilst bouncing on my ball... (poor you though).

okie oh no, soz yoga was a bit of a let down. I was well up for that class but for hippobirfing classes on weds for rest of month. Did you find it at all relaxing, or were you more concerned about siting of fire extinguisher? Were there many other yummy mummy differs? What was your NCT group like? I would have said something if I were you - they're not supposed to make you feel bad about your choices, it's so patronising.

reggie how was your glucose thingy? I actually had quite a nice time listening to musak and reading mags. Apart from being hungry of course.

skates birf story purleeezzze.

GGT results tomorrow, trying not to worry in the meantime.

Oh and met 3 out of 5 couples on hippobirfing course last night. One guy was a total twerp and kept talking for his wife and then staring at me and mr moo when we were supposed to be doing relaxing exercises. GGRRRR. So much for the coupley bonding!

Muser · 09/09/2010 13:36

It is a tiny internet StiffyByng. Welcome to the thread!

moo I am in work because I have a seat here. And it's a long way home.

Casserole · 09/09/2010 13:38

Had forgotten (until now) all the weirdo dreams you get in pregnancy. Have had the same dream the last 3 nights, unfolding a bit more each night: I have given birth to another boy, but can't be bothered to take him home so just leave him in the hospital "for a few days" while I go home for a rest. Then last night, same again except I discover my baby is Asian (I am not, nor is MrStew) and called Samil, and has webbed hands and feet. And I STILL haven't picked him up out of the hospital. Do you think I ever will?

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 09/09/2010 13:41

Hey Moo - glad to hear you sounding upbeat, if a bit weak. Have a nice rest now. Rest...God that sounds tempting... .

I rang the midwife. She was very nice and basically said it's not too worrying in itself, but take probiotic supplement and try to sort it out. If it gets worse or if I get a fever or if it just fails to go away, I should consider another little trip to the doctor...Very sensible I'd say.

I second the calls for skates birth story. I have liked the teasers...

Medee · 09/09/2010 13:44

if you haven't worked out who I am, Stiffy, I am a trainee French courtesan. now, who do I know who is a Wodehouse fan...

OkieCokie · 09/09/2010 13:53

Moo I was too worried about farting very loudly at yoga to notice any other differ, all that stretching and the like...and it was too bleeding dark to make out who anyone was. I have signed up for the whole course so let's hope it gets better. On another note are you still able to eat cakes?

Yeah to weird dreams! But giving birth to an Asian duck is most weird.

StiffyByng · 09/09/2010 14:05

That meant nothing to me, Medee, as I am Not Bright, so I looked at your other posts. You have both met me. I am also a French feminist with a bad double entendre. Sssh, as I am secret.

That is a truly excellent dream, particularly as it has a sequel.

Medee · 09/09/2010 14:11

oooh, I know who you are, and I am so excited for you!

Muser · 09/09/2010 14:21

Aha, I know who you are! Yay!

OP posts:
StiffyByng · 09/09/2010 14:28

I'm so excited for both of you too! Hurray!

I hope we aren't pissing everyone else off with this mutual unmasking from other places.

OkieCokie · 09/09/2010 14:31

I am intrigued. It is all a bit cryptic here today.

Muser · 09/09/2010 14:56

I have puked for the FOURTH time today. The apple, ginger & wheatgrass juice really didn't help settle my stomach. I have never been so sick before. Docs is booked for 9am tomorrow. Give me the drugs doc. I do not want to spend my holiday puking.

I want to be at home, but I don't want to actually have to get home.

OP posts:
Medee · 09/09/2010 14:59

oh dear, Muse. Is there someone who can give you a lift, or is a taxi justifiable?

Muser · 09/09/2010 15:03

I think I'd throw up in the taxi, I'm not good in cars normally. And the traffic will be hideous. Train will be quicker, once I work up the energy to get to the station.

Sorry, am being very poor me today.

OP posts:
rollerbaby · 09/09/2010 15:16

Can you get a bus to the station maybe (so you can get off if you need to) with a carrier bag? Maybe some flat lemonade might soothe your tummy. Fruit juice might be a bit much if your tummy lining is irritated. I really feel for you. Try and go sooner rather than later and beat the rush?
