(Muse - I still wonder if it's worth it short term - the drucks are "as and when you need them" so my thinking is that a few days' worth, first thing in the morning, might, just might, give your poor nose a chance to heal.

Also, can you go in later to work? I found last time if I could lie in a bit and get up slowly that helped.

But yes, if all else fails Greek islands have magickal powers)

Now back to big fat HUZZAHS for Cos Grin

CluckyKate · 06/09/2010 10:54

Two babies in one weekend - brilliant news!!!

Congratulations Cossie....really thrilled Coslet decided to make an appearance at last....typical boy was prob faffing hence the lateness. Hope you're both well & enjoying those first precious days - such a special time.

PollyPoo · 06/09/2010 11:00

Yay congratulations to Skater and Cos! Two gorgeous little BESH baybees. Grin

Muse sorry to hear about the puking and simultaneous nosebleeds. Not Pleasant. Well done on the run though, you mad thing. V Envy of your greek holiday. We've just got back from a week in Dorset - was very lovely and great weather but is not Greece....

Scorpette · 06/09/2010 11:02

YAY for Cosmo! I've been harbouring a sneaking suspicion that she was keeping that baybee in there until all of us diff, out of solidarity Grin

A lovely BESH Girl and a lovely BESH Boy in one weekend - HOWZAT!

Keep up the good work, differs XX

Backinthebox · 06/09/2010 11:16

Congratulations Cos, and about time too. It's all so much better out than in, isn't it?

Now, why is everyone looking at ME like that? Confused

organiccarrotcake · 06/09/2010 11:30

Yey for cos!!!!! Well done. Must have been my fig offer Grin. Fantastic news. Grin

muser sounds miz, really sorry :( ski's been there big time of course, bless her. If you're not wetting yourself yet then hurrah for your super strong pfm - keep it up or the weeing will hit, too :( Pleased, if that's the right word, that it's am only, but sorry you're still going through it, that's rubbish :(

Talking of vom, Comma is the vom king. The other day he vommed up so much down my front it went inside my top and down into my knickers, which was nice. Tried on his christening gown today (which his daddy and grandad wore at theirs!) and was begging him not to puke on it (he didn't). Will have to force feed Gaviscon on the day. On the other hand he's currently bunged up, prob due to Gaviscon, so I guess I need to eat more figs Grin.

Missed bloody horse trials despite ski's reminders Angry. Went for a 1/2 hour nap and woke up past LC's bedtime - oops. Dog thing sounds bad. Can't imagine dogs would be banned but owner should be Angry. At parents' horse trials there is a strict dog-lead policy but there are a hardcore of people who let theirs wander the box park which makes it v difficult for me to leave Cas tied up as he would eat a wandering pup Blush.

PerfectDromedary · 06/09/2010 11:33

Yay Skates! Yay Cos! Huge congratulations to you both!

Am on a series of increasingly unpleasant deadlines, so this is a proper drive-by post.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 06/09/2010 11:36

muser Help it may not be, but it's practical - there might (unfortunately) come a time where it's most practical to stand in the bath to puke rather than have to clean toilet AND floor. :( If however you fancy sweet talking your doctor, I'd recommend cyclizine - I took it on an adhoc basis as it's fast working. It's the only anti-emetic that the Dutch will prescribe for differs and it started its life as a seasickness drug. You don't have to suffer - I was at week 13 before I gave up and went to the doctor. Everyone kept saying, "it'll pass by 12/13/14/16/20/delete as applicable" - but then towards the end of my pregnancy a couple of people came forward and said that they'd puked (like me) all the way up to and including due date - they'd just not wanted to upset me by telling me this.

Muser · 06/09/2010 12:01

I luckily have a tiny bathroom so can sit on the loo and puke in the sink. I can also sit in the shower and puke in the sink, which I have had to do on occasion when the nausea overwhelmed me unexpectedly.

I really don't want to think about how this could get worse if/when my pelvic floor gives way though. It's bad enough spraying blood everywhere while puking, without thinking that all my other orifices might start leaking.

I will mention the puking at my next midwife appointment if it's still happening. She was quite dismissive at my first appointment though, and I felt sick all day then. Now it's just 'wake up, puke, on with day'.

Did someone suggest going into work late? I am working from home today and that did not stop the morning puke. If I can sleep until 10am I do not puke. But I can't go into work that late.

How gorgeous - a little boy and little girl. WELL DONE you two! Glad she's finally out Cossie.

Muse that sounds utterly fucking awful. You are my hero.

Casserole · 06/09/2010 12:12

I second cyclizine; have tried various and that's the one that works best for me. If you do get to that point I'd try the GP rather than the midwife - I think sometimes cos midwives see it all day every day they get a bit blaze about it all, and forget how Fucking Miserable it is. Anyway. Hope it eases soon and you don't need that information.

laurielou · 06/09/2010 12:14

Cossie CONGRATULATIONS! Has been a baby-tastic weekend.

All things happen in threes.......(sets about making another batch of hot curry for boxy & VAG).

VAG my lurve, you're getting near the top of the list Grin

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 06/09/2010 12:32

Nooooooo! I second the Theory of Threes and contend that Box is next and I'll be with the Octoberfolk! Ha! Anyway, Clint cannot arrive until his laundry is done

Many congrats, Cossie, hope you are both doing ok.

Muse sounds dreadful, you poor thing. I am in awe of the ms sufferers, I would have been foetal for 9 months if I had suffered like you do. Respec'.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 06/09/2010 12:33

Right, off to catch up before visitors arrive.

SilverSky · 06/09/2010 12:41

rollerbaby · 06/09/2010 13:11

Switty glad you are ok and taking it easy has helped. Continue to ring that bell ok?

Muser I think your body is getting it's revenge. Poor you - it will be over soon(ish). I can't believe I read all the gory details without blinking whilst eating my beef stew.

VAG what you doing your baby clothes washing with?

Where's okie? she has gone v quiet... Have we lost reggie for good now??

ski have borrowed a large scary pump from my friend which is like your very own milking parlour. Hopefully I will a) be on time and b) be able to express by then. But hopefully I can just pop him in my new handbag and go - surely?

Medee · 06/09/2010 13:21

hurrah for the Cosmonaut!

TwinkleToes76 · 06/09/2010 13:37

Woop woop! Well done Cossie!

ginhag · 06/09/2010 13:48

WOOOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOHHHOOOOOoooooOOOOoo COS!!!!!

big love to the cos family and cosboy xxxx

rollerbaby · 06/09/2010 13:50

Girls what should I be looking for in a doorway gate? I've no idea. Which ones are good/crap?

organiccarrotcake · 06/09/2010 13:59

honey for dog I guess as babe won't need it for a while! Look for one which is high enough that pup will not be inclined to try to jump over (once done, will keep doing). There are special doggy ones for this.

Casserole · 06/09/2010 14:32

On the babygate front, some are pressure mounted and some are wall mounted ie you have to put a screw in your wall. That puts a lot of people off, but we went for one of those as with most of the pressure ones you have a metal bar at the bottom you have to step over, and both me and MrStew are idiots and would have fallen down the stairs every time if trying to negotiate it. Grin The design of the pressure ones might have changed by now, I dunno.

I figure we'll just polyfiller and paint th hole when we're done. Or make it into a abstract art feature by drilling lots of others at random spacing......

FannyPriceless · 06/09/2010 15:03

Huge , grinning, totally thrilled congrats to cosmummy, cosdaddy and coslet!!Grin I hope you are being looked after well and enjoying the mind-blowing realisation that you now have an aktual baybee!

box The reason we're all staring at you is the little matter of the due date, which would be, let me see now... TODAY!! Get a move on, you heifer.Grin

muse I can offer some solidarity as I simultaneously vommed and nose bled for months.Sad Actually, the nose bleeding continued to the end, long after the puking had stopped. I took to stuffing my nostrils with twisted wads of tissues, and then kind of bending it around at the bottom so it didn't interfere with the trajectory of the power vom. Not easy and frankly horribly gross. I really do sympathise.

CUNextTuesday · 06/09/2010 15:33

OMG cos too!! Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooooooooooooo Grin Grin Huge congrats to all!
