ses - you are organised i have been eyeing up next summer things for the girls on there website starting to buy beginning of april
week off work sounds good Grin

Diege · 17/02/2011 22:45

Hello! Just checking in too! Have been a bit of a hermit, virtually and in real life as engulfed in the A level marking and burning the candle at both ends too. Only 40 scripts left and I'll be back properly again Grin. All fine here - still ttc-ing, but quite (happily) resigned to 4 being my lot if that's what's mant to be Smile
Love to all xx

tinksbabyis2 · 18/02/2011 09:37

hi hermit crab Grin Wink

good luck

introducing the potty here Hmm

essenceofSES · 18/02/2011 10:29

Morning! My week off has flown by!

Diege - good to hear from you. Hope those last papers don't take too long, we've missed you!

tink - good luck with the potty! I have to say I'm not looking forward to that. I might even have a look and see what GF says on the matter! DS doesn't seem to care at the moment if he has a wet or dirty nappy so I think we'll be waiting til the middle of the summer.

I'm feeling a little :( today as I think without realising it at the time, I've BF DS for the last time. At the beginning of the week he started playing around and not geeding properly at bedtime so last night I just gave him cuddles, read a book and then watched ITNG on DH's iPad with him before putting him in his cot awake and he hardly batted an eyelid!
No point continuing unless he wants to and I guess he's just gradually self-weaned.

Getting my hair done later - full head of highlights and cut. Can't decide how much to get cut off and whether to keep it all one length or get some layers put in.
Any thoughts ladies?!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 18/02/2011 11:54

Ses- :( i was the same with DD2 a few months back- but she'd trailed off so much that i only realised about 2 days after her last feed... she's not wanted it since!! :( As for hair- i always think layers look much better if you're the sort of person who prefers to do their hair more often than just chuck it in a clip/bobble. I have mine layered and shaped around my face, for the odd occasion that i straighten it... otherwise it spends 99% of the time in a bobble!!

Diege!! OMG- seems so long!! Was gonna text you as i'd not seen you on here for so long but realised you can't reply so it wouldn't have solved my problem!! Grin

cantmummyhaveabreak · 18/02/2011 11:59

oh and also Ses- I followed GF for potty training DS & DD1... DS was just turned 2 and within 3 days was fully dry, and within 2 weeks (2y 2m) made a 2hr trip to leeds, had a day in a crowd of almost strangers, played outside on the park for hours and managed the 2hr trip home without a single accident!!

DD1 was a tad slower- we attempted 2x with no success at all on the first day so didn't continue as i didn't want to frustrate her. Then on the 3rd attempt when i was pg with DD2 (so DD1 was about 2y 5m) we tried again and within 5 days we were able to do a full 3hr tesco shopping trip with no accidents!!

I'm planning for DD2 to potty train during the summer holidays hopefully. Dont wanna push her as she is still a tad behind other '2yo's' but she is doing really really well, always tells me when she's had a poo, and when she wants her bum changed... and i always thing summer is the best time to potty train them.

essenceofSES · 18/02/2011 21:12

Hi Cant - thanks for your replies. No BF again tonight so I think that's it.

I didn't see your post until after I got back from hairdresser but I went for layers! Really pleased with it and fairly easy to look after which is also a plus!

Happy birthday for your DD2! Sounds like she's doing really well :)

essenceofSES · 18/02/2011 21:23

DH was at the doctor's today. He's always had slightly high BP and was meant to have a 24hr monitor a year ago but kept putting it off. Whenever I nagged him, he told me to stop stressing him out Hmm
Anyway, he finally got it done and various blood tests. They've put him on BP tablets immediately and also asked him to go and see the Diabetes nurse as his blood sugar was high Shock

It's sort of worrying but I'm just glad he's finally got himself seen so hopefully he will be better off now. He really needs to lose about 3st so hopefully this will give him the push he needs.

tinksbabyis2 · 19/02/2011 17:02

Hi

essenceofSES · 20/02/2011 20:24

Hello tink :)
Have you had a good wkend?

tinksbabyis2 · 21/02/2011 09:48

hi se
s
yes thanks and u?

GingerbreadGiraffe · 21/02/2011 12:56

Hi everyone
Very very quiet on here. I just noticed that the thread is called Autumn still...!

Ses- sorry for your DH's BP/ blood sugar issues. I hope he gets it seen to and undercontrol very soon. Must be worrying when you cant really do much to affect it.

Cant/ Ses - i've got the PF potty traiing book. I have been getting the SG used to the idea for ages now and hope to give it a good go when on holiday in March. Although - of the list of things in the GF book, she isnt good at sitting down still for 5 or 10mins... is any child of 2????

Very busy at work- ridiculously so..... just as well I love my job really!

Best run as I have a 1pm meeting

back soon

GingerbreadGiraffe · 23/02/2011 08:07

Helooooooooo where is everyone???????????????????????????

Rugbylovingmum · 23/02/2011 09:48

Hi all,

I'm exhausted this morning Sad. Poor DD is loaded with cold AGAIN and slept really badly last night. She kept waking up coughing and then at 3.30 am she ended up in bed with me. She slept then until 6.30 am but she was so restless - and wanted to hold my hand all night - so I didn't get any sleep. I dropped her off at nursery and they decided to put her straight down for a nap - I was so Envy, I could have just climbed into the cot with her rather than coming to work Grin.

Giraffe - I hope work isn't too hectic today. No advice on potty training, it's a while before we'll have to thin about it. My niece used the potty for the first time at her child minders a couple of weeks ago. She got a little piece of choc as a reward so in the afternoon she sat on the potty for 45 min Shock waiting to do a wee so she could have another piece Grin. She is sweety mad that girl.

Ses - has DH seen the diabetes nurse yet? I'm sure the high BP/sugar is worrying but at least he has to do something about it now. What is it with men that they create a huge fuss over a little cold but ignore anything more serious Confused.

Hi Tink, Cant, Diege and any other lurkers. I'm off to find some caffeine.

tinksbabyis2 · 23/02/2011 16:41

cantmummyhaveabreak · 24/02/2011 15:37

afternoon. Been pretty busy with the DC's on half term. Off down south tomorrow morning until sunday. Going to visit the in-laws and finally get cuddles with my little nephew!!

just popped in to get my place again. :)

Diege · 25/02/2011 09:38

Hello! How goes it CANT? (you're right about me and texting btw [blush). How many weeks are you now?
Out half-terms was last week now and couldn't take time off so feel I've oddly missed out..
SES, any news about your dh's bloods? How's your temping going? I see you posting on the temp thread that I lurk on Grin
GINGER, how is work now?Our work is also very very busy but we are also quite scared about redundancies - you'd think with all this tuition fee stuff that it would at last guarantee lecturer's jobs, but apparently not - 150 posts to go Shock
GRUFF, have been trying to work out how many weeks you are now - about the same as CANT? Confused
Hello TINKS! gearing up for summer shopping no doubt Wink
RUGBY poor you and the lack of sleep Sad. I have a picture of you forcibly climbing into the nursery cot. Hope you can get some rest at some point x Hi to STAR, NAT and anyone else I've missed x

All fine here. Exam scripts finally posted off. Going to toddler group now, then will have to write a lecture at lunchtime while ds sleeps. Have been having a bit of respite on the commute front with getting a lift in with colleague, but she's now moving to back to the mega-commute come Monday!
LOve to all x

Rugbylovingmum · 25/02/2011 10:05

Morning all

DD slept through last night - not a peep out of her until 6 am, hooray Grin. I feel amazingly full of energy this morning which may have lead to a little bit of madness, I signed up for Shine Manchester - the nighttime charity walk for Cancer Research. I at least had the sense to start with the half marathon walk this year although I'd love to do the full marathon next year. There's no way I'll ever run one but maybe I could manage walking it. It's on May 1st and looks like it will be fun - does anyone else fancy doing it with me??? It'll be fun girls, honest!!!

Diege - that is ridiculous Angry. Do you know anything about where the redundancies will be made -which depts will have the biggest cuts. I really hope your job is safe and that you find out soon. The waiting is awful - my mum runs a school kitchen and the gov have cut all school meals funding so the school are considering stopping providing meals (excpt free school meals which they have to do) and making everyone bring a packed lunch. Mum is just waiting to find out of she will have a job after July.

Cant - enjoy your cuddles with your nephew!

Tink - hope you had a nice day at home with the girls.

tinksbabyis2 · 25/02/2011 15:26

bumpsnowjustplump · 25/02/2011 22:47

Hello all..

I have a two year old.. Owen had a lovely day Monday although i spent the evening after he had gone to bed looking at baby pics and getting a bit teary.

It has been ages since I was last hear but things are going really well. Work is great although very busy. I have been doing lots of training as well as working oh and being a mum so it leaves very little me time. I have had to up my hours as well so not spending as much quaility time with the children as I would like but needs must.

My babies are wonderful, I am amazed at how good they are and how well they get on. O has developed into such a lovely little boy and J is just stunning, and I am so proud of them both. O is in a big boys bed and doing really well. He hasn't had a daytime nap since he was 18 months but does sleep for 12 hours every night now so we get sleep in the bump household now. I think I am aloud to gloat seeing as he was still feeding every two hours at night at 14 months hehe...

Hope you are all well.

essenceofSES · 26/02/2011 22:50

Am sat here alone waiting for DH to get back from the rugby. More sadness for his family today. MIL's best friend passed away. MIL is devastated and DH and his siblings are too. She was like a 2nd mum to them all. DH has been at the rugby today and on his way back now. He wants to look at getting a flight over tomorrow. All v sad :( :( :(

Bumps - good to hear from you :) J & O sound adorable! We must arrange another meet up at some oint!

Rugby - yay for DD sleeping through! 1st May...hmmm... I'm not really close enough...

Diege - how worrying! I hope you hear for definite soon as it's often the being in limbo that is most stressful. FX!

Right, DH home so I'd best go!

bumpsnowjustplump · 28/02/2011 11:43
