Is moving into a Tink, Can't and Star thread I think? Grin Wink

Tink - DD saw the photo of your DD2's bed on Fb and looked at me with a hopeful grin and asked "mine?" Grin tee hee!

Can't - my tuppenceworth on the sleep front is that giving the current sleeping arrangement works and you all get the sleep you need, I would keep things the way they are at least til you've had the baby as it sounds like you need all the sleep you can get at the mo.

Hope you've all had a good weekend.

essenceofSES · 07/02/2011 08:31

Hello! I am around but wasn't wanting to bore you with my 2ww rollercoaster! CD1 today so on to another round!
Am posting on my phone so sorry not to namecheck properly. DH away tonight so I'll try and catch up then!

GingerbreadGiraffe · 07/02/2011 08:38

Morning all

Ses- 2WW not boring- thats why we are here. I hope you are ok re it being CD1 for you.

Hi Star, Tink, Cant!

Back laters

hi ses

cantmummyhaveabreak · 07/02/2011 15:22

afternoon- got both DD's at home today- DD1 was ill yesterday and has done nothing but sleep so far today... she's so drained of energy. Just hoping i can have her back tomorrow as i have a meeting with the head of governers at the school tomorrow afternoon... already taking DD2 with me... can't be taking DD1 when she's off ill!!

Have got a new nephew, BIL's son was born last thursday night. He's very cute- and making me broody for baby cuddles... not held a newborn since DD2!!! We're going down south to visit in just over 2 weeks!! I can't wait!!

got swollen feet and ankles for the first time ever- pregnancy 4 and it comes out of no-where!! Anyone got any hints and/tips to keep them at bay? even wearing my open trainer type shoes is starting to make them feel like they're burning as i have to wear socks with them or my feet go blue with it being so cold....

essenceofSES · 07/02/2011 20:45

Hello!

Cant - congratulations on your new nephew! Does he have a name?
As for the swollen feet and ankles, best things to do are impractical ones such as sitting with feet up and with cold flannels or bag of frozen peas wrapped in a towel over your ankles. Massaging the legs and feet also helps so sweet talk your DH there!
Hope DD1 is feeling better tomorrow and your meeting goes well.
Oh and FWIW, I'd stick with the current sleeping arrangements whilst they're working!

Ginger - thanks for checking in with me on CD1! Disappointed as we'd given it a good shot this month but I've been temping so knew a few days ago AF was on it's way.

Star - great news on DD sleeping :)

tink - good shoe shopping! I think your DDs will probably grow up good at shopping too!

Rugby - hope your Oxford trip went well?

Hello everyone else! Hope you're all doing ok?

GingerbreadGiraffe · 08/02/2011 06:15

Morning

Working early this morning.

Ses- glad you are ok and had pre warning of AF.

Cant- congrats on nephew. Agree with ses- get your feet up. I had this and it was really uncomfortable. ONly thing that helped was having my feet up really.

Hi Tink- great shoes!

Rugbylovingmum · 08/02/2011 12:25

Hi all,

Our Oxford trip was okay but I have been snowed under with work since then so no chance to post. I got some lovely news yesterday, my friend had twin girls Grin. They are both well and just over 5lbs. They had told my friend to expect to give birth around 35/36 weeks but she was 39 weeks, huge and fed up so she had a sweep yesterday morning and gave birth with no interventions yesterday evening. No names yet although their DS (3 yo) has come up with some very interesting options Hmm.

Ses- glad you are ok about AF arriving but if you are fed up please don't hide it. We all know how crap the 2ww and AF arrival can be so this is the place for a good moan or rant if you need it! Of course if you don't then just ignore all my rambling Wink.

Cant- hope you are taking it easy with your feet up today.

Tink- you are such a great shopper. I managed to buy DD some leggings, cardis, dresses, T-shirts and a skirt yesterday, mostly from Next - I haven't even considered shoes yet. I miss getting a big bag of clothes from my SIL but we haven't had any recently.

Hi Ginger, Star, Kay .............

tinksbabyis2 · 09/02/2011 11:20

morning Grin just!!

congrats cant on nephew lovely news Grin
sorry for swollen ankles just rest as much as you can i guss [hmmm]

hi ses and ginger

rugby great news about friends twins Grin

quiet day here Grin

cantmummyhaveabreak · 09/02/2011 15:33

Afternoon...

Nephew now has a name, Tyler. He was 7lb and a half?? (which i haven't yet been told if it's half as in 0.5oz or 1/2 a lb). Was having problems feeding last time we spoke to BIL so was staying in till either yesterday or today... not heard from him since.

DD was still ill yesterday so didn't get to the meeting at school. Going to be re-arranged. She's been off today for the time allowance after being sick, but she's been perfectly fine, nagging and bouncing about- felt a fraud taking her to B&Q with me before!! haha!!

Also just ordered a new toaster and iron, DH is putting a new curtain rail up in the dining room tomorrow, and hoping to get a new dining table in the next couple of weeks too... gonna get a sofa-bed in there soon so need a slightly smaller, space saving table and there's a fab looking one in argos thats half price so should do the job great!!

essenceofSES · 09/02/2011 21:11

Hello!

Cant - have you heard from BIL yet?
Sounds like you're getting things at home all organised at the moment!

tink - hope you enjoyed your quiet day

Rugby - lovely news about your friend and her twins :) Glad you enjoyed Oxford but hope work calms down. Have you had any more thoughts on your long term plans?

Giraffe and Rugby - thank you for your kind words about AF arriving. They brought a few tears to my eyes Blush
I really don't want to become obsessed about DC#2 as I'm really grateful to have DS, knowing what some people go through just to have 1DC.
This month was tough as we'd given it a good shot and my body was fooling me with symptoms. DH obviously also thought we were in with a chance too as he kept asking "Are you pg yet?" in an excitable little boy way Grin
On Saturday, a couple of days before AF I knew I was out though as my temp dropped. Sod's law that Sunday we had an NCT get together with one friend who's just given birth to DC2 and another who's just announced she's due in July.

As galling as AF is, I really do appreciate what I have though. DS is just gorgeous :)

Anyway, how's everyone else doing? Not heard from Diege or Nat for a while. Hope they are ok.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 09/02/2011 21:19

Not heard from BIL yet, but DH will most likely ring MIL tomorrow evening for an update as she's only 5mins away from them so has been seeing them daily.

I think it may be the 'nesting' hormones kicking in... odd as i'd just had this chat with beany's mummy the other day, saying i didn't think i'd get it this time as i thought it might have been a mind thing rather than a hormone thing... then out of the blue i'm feeling all motivated to have a massive clear-out and re-vamp!! I wont complain tho as after all these months of sickness and SPD pain the house has gotten a bit messy- so I can do with all the motivation possible!! :)

As for your TTc- some people do take much longer... and iirc you had a couple of mc/mmc before DS didn't you? maybe this extra waiting will pay off in a smooth first catch when it does happen!! :)

essenceofSES · 09/02/2011 21:20

Thanks Cant - yes you're right I had 2mmc before DS so really hope I don't have to go there again!

I did wonder about your nesting hormones! Take advantage of them I guess, as long as you don't wear yourself out!

tinksbabyis2 · 10/02/2011 10:12

morning Grin

hi cant

hi ses yes had a nice day yest thanks

cantmummyhaveabreak · 11/02/2011 10:51

well i've defo got some major cleaning buzz... Aswell as my huge spring clean thats going on in almost every room... But i've now bought a new dining set that will be here tomorrow, and have got some curtains for the dining room too. Next weekend DH and beany's daddy will be removing the old gas fire from the wall in there (already disconected, just needs coming off and the hole covering) and boarding up the doorway where DH has done half the job so far... and may even manage to get some new skirting on too... DH put the new curtain rail up yesterday ready for the curtains, and i'm planning carpet and furniture to get over the next few weeks so it's hopefully sorted before the end of march!! Wuhoo!!

Got my new iron and toaster yesterday and am very pleased with them... Tho have decided i need a new ironing board too.

Rugbylovingmum · 11/02/2011 11:55

Do you want to come and do my place when you finish there Cant Grin. I have a major sleeping thing going on at the minute - I've been shattered all week - so the house is a tip. We have all the NCT lot coming over for lunch this weekend so I'm going to have to tackle it soon.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 11/02/2011 19:51

Rugby- To be honest i have plenty from the last few months to catch up on i've been that shattered, sick and achey that i've literally done bare minimum since i was 4wks pg!! Blush

However- at the rate i'm going i'll be cleared by the end of next week so i'd happily take on your's too!! Grin

To top all that off i've got an ikea trip planned for next tuesday... Getting some bookcases for the kids stuff and some that'll hopefully have room for our bits too, a little table and stools for the kids, a rug for under that too, some storage stuff for their smaller toys, some birthday bits for DD2 and a toybox!!

tinksbabyis2 · 12/02/2011 13:45

Sounds fun can't
Luv ikea they do a really gd white toybox for
£10 I hv 3 of them r gr8
Bought picture frames today

cantmummyhaveabreak · 12/02/2011 17:02

Tink- I've got that toybox on my shopping list!!

Have been super busy this morning- spent 4hrs solid sortng, clearing and cleaning the dining room. think I went a bit OTT on furniture moving, but it's all done now. I need to just put some piles of clothes away upstairs then i can put my old dining table on ebay... thinking i'll save that for tomorrow tho- feel exhausted now!!

Hopefully DH will have time to put my new table up this evening though then he can take the old one down tomorrow and my hard work will show. :)

essenceofSES · 14/02/2011 17:03

Hello! Gone quiet on here again!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 15/02/2011 16:19

Afternoon- Went to ikea this morning... spent a flippin' fortune!!! But.... I got tons!!!

got: 2 narrow bookcases, 1 wide bookcase, 8 wicker storage baskets, 2 toyboxes, an easel and chalks, 2 small table and chairs sets, pots for felts & crayons etc, some birthday presents for DD2 (she's 2 on sunday!!Shock), a massive 15 pic photo frame, some curtains, and fabric to make some small curtains too... then just some extra bits and bobs for finishing toutches.

DD2 chose a massive soft crocodile that she fell in love with! He's as long as i am tall, and she was dragging him round the whole place cuddling him!! He's been called 'Barry' and his little baby that came with him is 'Gary'- dont ask why- but stupidly the names were my idea Blush and they've now stuck!!

DH has built 2 of the bookcases and a toybox, they're in the living room, then the rest is for the dining room once we've got a new carpet in there in a few weeks. dead happy with them- planning another trip in a few months!!
