Morning! At my desk so just a quickie lest anyone peep over my shoulder!
MMM sorry for cold/sore throat. Have you tried mericaine (sp?) throat lozenges? They're really good and actually numb the sore bit so that you can at least swallow. Enjoy your trip to Scotland (keep warm!!)
Hi GYO! Are you at your desk too?
Bye for now x

GiraffeYoga · 23/11/2010 11:28

cantmummyhaveabreak · 24/11/2010 13:14

Just wanted to pop by and mark my place.

been feeling full of energy today so making the most of it... have folded about 8 months worth of clothes ready to put away, have cleaned the DC's room, done my friends hair, and she trimmed mine, have got my 3rd load of washing on the go (how the kids managed to hide so much dirty washing under their bed i'll never know!!) and am aiming to get the washing all put away and have a sparkly kitchen by this evening...

have been getting some braxton hicks the last few days, mostly in the evenings... i remember i started getting them really early with DD2 tho, so bit worried it might end up being another premmy... :( they're really knocking me for six too- last night they were so painful DH actually thought i was in labour!! Might bring it up at the next MW app if they carry on like this every evening. Only 18+4 and i've only just started feeling fairly normal again the last few days... then they blimin start...

I honestly dont know how i ever forgot how crap i am at being pregnant!! haha!!

Right- off to have 10mins with a cuppa tea then back to the grind-stone. :)

essenceofSES · 24/11/2010 14:01

Hello! Wednesday so day off today and DS currently having a nap so thought I'd try and catch up here...

Cant - yay for energy surge but definitely not aya for BH. Definitely worth mentioning to MW.

tink - Your mum does sound a star!
Canvas pcis sound good too!

Diege - how are you feeling now? DS sounds so cute with his shoes!

MMM - hope you enjoy your trip and are feeling better.

Giraffe - hope you've got over that being-back-at-work-itis. I hate the first day back with all the phonecalls, emails and catching up!

Nat - how's things with you now?

Hello everyone else - Gruff, Sorky, Rugby and anyone else around!

I had a frustrating morning - all my own fault :( I locked myself out of the house leaving DS inside Blush
It took me about an hour and a half to get back in as I couldn't get hold of my mum (who has a spare key). DS was fortunately in his playpen with the telly on whilst I was getting our bags ready to go out but it thankfully was for the best!

Mum was out and Dad couldn't find the key - turns out because Mum keeps it in her handbag! She's agreed to keep it in the house now and tell Dad where it is

tinkloveshercowprintslanket · 24/11/2010 17:23

Im working at home today and tomorrow which is a joy - I can actually get some work done. Grin

Tink - all the room updates sound good

cant- fingers crossed the BHs havent started early for you. Doesnt seem fair somehow :(

Ses- sorry for being locked out. I dread that as no family are nearby with key. Would need to ring cleaner. Phew for playpen!

Better get on.

Big waves to everyone else.

I may treat myself to a new xmas posting name....

OP posts:
Diege · 25/11/2010 14:21

Hi GYO! Working from home here, not got a lot done Blush.
CANT, don't panic about the bhs - they do get worse with subsequent pregnancies and I was getting them very early on with ds (15 weeks). My mw said it was pretty usual with 4th babies, but that people don;t often talk about it because not many have 4 these days! Hope you're feeling ok x
TINK, put a biggish Boden order in this morning, and thought of you Grin
Ok here - a bit down yesterday as dh said he thought maybe we should stop at 4. He has since changed his mind though, so fingers crossed he desn;lt waiver again. The waivering is worse than just saying 'no' tbh!
Anyine got any snow yet? Will also change my name soon I think to its xmas variety.
BTW SES I dreamt the night before last night that you got a BFP and I was extremely jealous Grin

GiraffeYoga · 25/11/2010 15:04

Hello Diege

Goodness, i can imagine the mind changing is very unsettling indeed. Hope he sticks with 5 now.... sending you lots of fertility enriching brownies :)

Saying being at home is good for getting stuff done.... I've on load of washing 3 and have dried it all on the radiators. :)

Clearly inbetween calls ..... Hmm

OP posts:
Diege · 25/11/2010 16:10

Lol, my washing is still 'pending' (sitting in the drum waiting to be put onto radiators when the present stuff dries - it's like a launderette in here...
Yes, very unsettling the changing mind business...I think I will kep the whole thing low key now anyway, and not mention any symptoms as/when relevant to him!

GiraffeYoga · 25/11/2010 16:28

Sounds like a plan. Maybe get on with some GOF for the sake of the F rather than the result. Always good for the man I think.

My 3rd lot is now pending.

My house is always a chinese laundry as we dont have a tumble drier and I also do cloth nappies.... I am thrilled Blush at WFH for an extra day to get it done early

OP posts:
GiraffeYoga · 25/11/2010 16:29

Crikey that stuff about the F'ing was a bit pushy Blush - Im sure youknow what I mean but still ..... Blush

OP posts:
Diege · 25/11/2010 17:40

Grin I know exactly what you mean Wink

NatalieJane · 25/11/2010 19:11

Ah, the F'ing comes up and here I am! :o

(And yes, the cheesy pun was intended! Wink)

Hi guys :)

Sorry not been on, have been licking my wounds and feeling sorry for myself/us/DS2/other two all week, then had big cry-your-eyes-out type blow out last night, feel much better now, even without the aid of wine!

So where are we? Tink and Diege shopping, oh what a surprise?!! Shock :o No, it all sounds good, I have been indulging as well, got all of the little pressies, and DS2's laptop came today, his tracks are here, so his bday and xmas is sorted, just got main pressies for DS3's bday and xmas, and still yet to find out what DS1 wants, he's changed his mind so bloody much.

Ses, yesterday sounds like a bit of a nightmare, glad it worked out fine in the end! And yes to playpen being a godsend, DS3 is just about coming out of his, he has worked out if he pushes it over to the sofa he can climb out! Will miss it when it's gone, it (and it's predecessor) have been part of the furniture since DS2 was born, though will also be glad of the extra room.

MMM sorry you've been poorly again :( You are having a run of it, fingers crossed you're feeling better and that will be the end of it.

Can't, agree with Diege, worth mentioning, but I'd try not to worry yourself silly about it.

Goodness I can't remember anything else Blush Hi to everyone I missed, hope you're all well? Am about to do some more catching up on SN, FB, scrabble and the farms as I have come to call them lovingly Wink

G'night all x

essenceofSES · 25/11/2010 20:04

LOL at you lot and your F'ing Grin

Talking of which, I have a +ve OPK, a peak on CBFM, lots of EWCM and a DH on the way home from work that I am bribing with a take away curry :)
Diege - just hope that dream of yours comes true! (Not the causing you to be jealous bit though so maybe we'll have DC a few weeks apart again?!)

Nat - sorry you've been feeling down. Not suprising with all you've got going on but go easy on yourself. How did the meeting go re DS2?

Giraffe - yay for WFH :) I'm sure I'd be more productive if I worked from home a bit more but only if DS was at nursery and by the time I've driven there and dropped him off, I might just as well go into work!
As for chinese laundry, it feels a bit like that here sometimes too! Very impressed you managed to stick with the cloth nappies once back at work!

tink - Eurodisney would be great!

GruffaloSoldier · 25/11/2010 21:05

Hi all!

Had a very busy day today so am just chilling and enjoying sitting down!

I had my consultant apt on Tues and I am all booked in for my csection - 6 days after GC's birthday Grin

Have my sister booked to stay for a few days to look after GC while I am in hospital and DH to-ing and fro-ing. My mum may be here too, depending on how she is doing.

GYo - I have no tumble dryer either! I don't think I have ever done 3 loads in one day - good work!:)

Ses - that sounds awful for you regarding O being locked in house, thank goodness he was occupied!

NJ - Im glad you feel better after letting it all out. That's the best thing you can do.

Tink - great on the girls bedrooms!

Diege - sorry for indecisive hubby, but maybe he is worried about the effect on you? Im sure if you keep talking and reassure him you are ok and want to keep trying? The fact that he now has gone back to no.5 is a good sign, I am sure it will be ok.

Cant - sorry to hear about Braxton Hicks. I had them fairly early with GC for a first time baby. Dr said it was because I wasn't slowing down enough! Yay for energy though!

I am definitely seeing improvement in myself this week. Still feeling sick in the morning but so much better than it was. Tired most days but do have bursts of energy every so often. I completely overdid it at the soft play yesterday though and my friends stared in disbelief as I squeezed throught the horizontal rollers Grin

Hi to anyone Ive missed.

Right I am going to get back to my passing chilling out Grin

NatalieJane · 26/11/2010 09:52

Morning :o

After my tantrums all week, this is day one of a Grand Master Plan, was planning to get phone numbers of places G has been referred to and chase them up, but HV isn't back in till next week so that's gone down the pan!

Also decided to start keeping a diary of what he does/n't do, see if I can work out any triggers etc. He woke up at 7.30, so 2 hrs 20-ish minutes ago, he has spent 1hr 40 mins in melt down mode - shouting, screaming, hitting, kicking, crying till he chokes kind of thing etc. etc. etc., and it's not even been a 'bad' morning, just how much are we putting up with because it seems normal? And how much worse is it when it is a 'bad' morning?!

Ses, I guess I know what you got up to last night?!! Wink And thanks for asking, the meeting was cancelled, we couldn't get a date together before mid-December where everyone could be there, and the HV wants things moving quicker than that. It isn't the end of the world, we were only getting together to try and swap info etc. but it can all be just as easily done without a meeting. We're waiting till the Ed Psych, the area SENCo, and the Paed do something (which is why I wanted to ring them to get their arses into gear!), and then we'll get another meeting at some point.

Gruff, glad you're feeling a bit better, do you think having your grand master plan in place is helping?! I remember how stressful it was trying to arrange any sort of childcare cover with DS2 and 3.

Hope everyone else is having a good morning?

tinkisbrrrrr · 26/11/2010 12:15

hi nat - sorry for sytresses

hi other ladies Grin

lol @: chinese laundry !!

Diege · 26/11/2010 14:14

Afternoon Smile. All fine here, though very, very cold. Poor ds's hands were freezing on the way up to school, even with his sheepskin mittens on. No snow as yet!
NAT, phew the 'normal' morning does sound hard work. I think it's a great idea to keep a diary, as long as doing so doesn't make you feel overwhelmed with it all. Hoping you can get that meeting sorted soon x
HI TINKS - meant to say Euro Disney plans sound great. I know you can get up to 50% off in the winter mths as my friend went last Jan - boy was it cold though!Maybe summer is worth the extra!
GRUFF, excellent that you're starting to feel better, and must be good to have a date to put in the diary. Re: dh, I don't think I come into it if I'm honest Blush, purely the old fears about job security, getting older etc etc. He does seem to have come round now though, so fingers crossed!
SES, sounding good Grin. Hopefully the chinese takeaway (and you powers of sedution, natch Wink) did the trick?
CANT, hoping you're ok if you're lurking x
Oh and I feel I should add that I have no tumble dryer either Grin - make do with radiators/towel rail in bathroom, and one of those washing rail thingies in the utility room.
Love to all - and keep warm everyone!

GiraffeYoga · 26/11/2010 15:32

Hi everyone

v quick question and I will be back on later

how fast can a child get a temp of 40?

Just had a call to say SG has a temp that high....

I am alarmed that the nursery didnt notice she was poorly before then. High temp for her is from 37.....

Hmm
OP posts:
NatalieJane · 26/11/2010 16:13

Hi Giraffe, IME, temps can come on really suddenly, and whereas DS1 starts showing signs of being poorly somewhere above 38, DS2 get easily reach 40 without showing any outward signs. I guess you'll be with her by now, hope she's OK x

I don't know how you lot cope with out a dryer, even with all the rads we have (16!) I wouldn't be able to put enough clothes out to dry, and still get the warmth into the house. We have massive airers in the utility, which helps, but still need the dryer, especially for the times I've been lazy behind and needed to do a few loads in a day.

Diege, tell me about it, I am now beginning to understand why I feel like I am about to explode half the time. It is absolutely ridiculous how it has become so normal for us. Am glad the diary is leading to something positive because if I didn't have the end result to focus on, actually picking apart our day is really quite bloody depressing!

Hi Tink :) Nice to chat earlier :o

It is bloody freeeeeeeezing out there, we've been in 20 minutes and my hands have only just come back to life, still got my coat on! DS1 comes out of school, not hat, no gloves, no scarf, coat wide open, telling me how warm he is, t'is something wrong with that child!
