tinkwantsaslanket · 11/11/2010 16:27

hi girafee Grin

having it here this year Grin Grin
each year we take it in turns between dhs parents who r in hull and mine

Diege · 11/11/2010 18:55

Hello! we're also having xmas here TINKS, though am dreading it a bit as between me and dh we've invited every family member we know Blush
Have been feeling a bit Sad as I sense this pregnancy is following the same route as the mmc..I just don't have very strong symptoms and any nausea I did have has completely disappeared Sad. If things are going to go wrong I'd be far happier if it happened now tbh.Not sure what to do re: booking in etc...would it make sense to wait for a private viability scan at 8 wks and take it fron there? Confused. Sorry for rambling but no-one else to share with really!

GiraffeYoga · 11/11/2010 20:22

Hi Diege

Sorry you are feeling Sad and unsure about the progression of the pregnancy. It is only 5wks? or are you at 6wks now? It could be all is well and this is just a different pregnancy to last time (and those before!) but I can understand why you are feeling a bit unsure- especially since you went through this before. Not that it makes much odd buts I didnt feel anything at all until I was about 7 or 8wks.

Is 8 wks the earliest you can have a viablity scan privately? I was thinking that maybe it can be done at 6 or 7wks?

If your MW isnt great then maybe leave the booking in for a couple of weeks. When do they normally see you for the first time in your area?

Thinking of you though

Tink- Xmas sounds good :)

I hope the poorlies are all on the mend.

TG its fRiday tomorrow

Diege · 11/11/2010 21:47

Thanks GYO, you speak sense! The nearest private place to me offers viability scans from 8 weeks, and tbh I wouldn't like to go much earlier anyway havunbg read so much on ms about people having to come back the following weeek etc etc.. I think I will leave the booking in for now too - perhaps after the scan if good news, and if not good news I have a scan report to wave at the gp to access nhs services.
Right, exhausted with it all, so off to bed (getting very cross at the blatantly right-wing programme about the economy on ch 4 at the mo' too, but that's another story Grin)

essenceofSES · 12/11/2010 08:15

Just a quick post from me to check in.

Diege - thinking of you and really hoping all is well. The early weeks of uncertainty are so hard and GYo does talk sense. Try and take things a day at a time.

O fortunately turned a slight corner on Wednesday. He went back to nursery yesterday and when I picked him up I felt so bad as he'd hardly eaten all day. He did seem slightly better again this morning so holing for a better day.

Sorry not to name check more but hope you're all ok and I'll try and catch up this evening.

tinkwantsaslanket · 12/11/2010 10:01

morning

hi diege - agree with comments that it could be a different pregnancy from the last one!!
i know how hard it is in the first weeks to try not to think too much
sure u will be fine

hi ses

have 8 items for slae on ebay which r running out soon looks promising Grin
yah for fri Grin

NatalieJane · 12/11/2010 10:34

Morning all :)

Diege, don't give up hope, read on MN about how many people have seemed to have lost symptoms, and everything turns out fine. Obviously goes without say I am thinking of you and hoping it will all be nothing.

Glad all the poorlies seem to be getting better, we're all fighting yukky coughs and colds at the moment, so getting off quite lightly by the sounds of it.

Sorry can't really help with the buggy talk Rugby, I got one for M must be about 8/9 month ago now, worst thing I've ever had, use it as little as possible! To be honest, he isn't missing it, he can walk for miles that boy!

We have had some more info re. DS2 and whatever is going on with him, I'll not bore you all with it, but I had a thread that is here if anyone is interested.

Have made the decision to stall the business till Feb. Think I am edging too close to xmas to expect any work and TBH, it needs my full attention to get it off the ground and I haven't got it at the moment. Though am still doing the IR's courses next month.

We've got Bingo Night at DS1's school tonight, can you believe there will be no wine to be had till gone 9 o'clock tonight?!! Shock It's just not on, at all

Diege · 12/11/2010 12:59

Thanks guys Smile. I've made a gp appointment today (first available 25th nov Shock) to get a referral, so will sit it out as I'll be 8 weeks by then. If anything happens before then I've been advised to ring up for same day appointment. Feel better now I have a plan, as at least if it is a mmc like last time I can get scanned at the unit with a referral and if things aren't good can get things sorted asap.
NAT, great to hear fron you, and agree that feb sounds a better time to get going than xmas. You must be so excited!
SES fingers crossed O is better!
TINKS, thanks, and good luck with e-bay too. Do you have a link to your goodies? (being nosey!)

Starshinetiger · 13/11/2010 07:58

Morning all - it's the weekend at last! A whole week of neither DC getting up before 7 - bliss (ignoring the night wakings although they have only been max 1 between them each night, which is amazing)! I am pretty sure it means they are sickening for this cold I've got, but hey, the sleep is good in the meantime (if only I didn't have to get up at 6.15 on 3 of those days, but it could be a lot worse ;) I know I'm pre-emptying a shocker tonight, but I currently feel like we are very lucky and just go to show that even when you have the worst sleeping baby you know, things can eventually get there!

So, what's everyone up to today? We have a packed day of my weigh-in, buying a bday pressie for DS's friend, her party this pm and then takeout for DH and I once the DC are in bed - sounds alright for a Sat, even though DH is working today.

Can't, Diege and Gruff - hope all you of ladies are feeling well. Diege, sorry you are feeling so unsure about your pg. Keeping everything crossed that it's all okay.

Nat, sorry for all your confusion over DS2, but does sound likehe's doing well at nursery and hope the meeting you've arranged sorts things out.

Rugby - sorry no suggestions re buggy, but you have some experts on here so am sure you've got good advice.

Can't remember anything else and am on phone so difficult to look back. Hope you all have a good Saturday. to Tink, GYo, Ses, Moos, MMM and anyone else I've missed.

Diege · 13/11/2010 09:39

Hi. Not great news I'm afraid. Started bleeding this morning which is a relief to be honest as I was so sure things were over anyway and had been debating mc options (surgical/medical) as I was falling asleep last night. At least this way it's over and done with asap.
Have dd2's birthday party today (Build a bear and then Ask for tea) so hoping things will be ok physically. Also, wondering if I need anti-d before 12 wks? I think not, but if anyone knows please let me!
Hope all is well - sounds like you have a busy one planned STAR!

NatalieJane · 13/11/2010 10:28

Diege :( Really sorry. I don't know about the Anti-D, and I should do because I always needed it, but am sure someone will know.

Please look after yourself today, don't over do anything. If there is anything I can do, anything at all, please let me know, thinking of you x

Diege · 13/11/2010 10:42

Thank-you NAT , you have brought a lump to my throat! This is far easier than the mmc at the moment though (emotionally) and I always thought it would be a long haul trying for no. 5 as the mc rate for 40s is a massive 50%. Maybe next time.

Starshinetiger · 13/11/2010 13:48

Oh Diege, just feel awful for you. Hope you have DH with you to help with party. As Nat said - if there's anything I can do, pleasesay, although being so far away, not sure what I could do Sad

essenceofSES · 13/11/2010 16:44

Diege - I'm so sorry :( Hope you've managed the birthday party ok. How is DH? Go easy on yourself and - as others have said - we're here for anything you need. Stupid crappy ttc rollercoaster! Grrr!

Hello to everyone else. Sorry, brief stop by the wagon. Was working this morning and out at a wedding reception tonight. Mum is actually babysitting for us Shock Will need to have O in his cot asleep for her though so I hope bedtime is easy tonight!

NatalieJane · 13/11/2010 18:20

Diege, you keep creeping into mind. I really hope the party wasn't too traumatic, and that it is over now and you can cuddle up with DH and just, well just 'be' really. And I do mean it, seriously, if there is anything I can do, I'm not too far away for a shoulder to offer x

tinkwantsaslanket · 13/11/2010 21:27

Hey everyone

Diege - I am so sorry to hear about the bleeding. It must be very hard to carry on as normal with parties etc. Please make sure you look after yourself and DH. I don't know about anti D. Good to see a gp anyway I guess.

Thinking of you tonight - take care x

Sad

cantmummyhaveabreak · 14/11/2010 20:42

Oh Diege- I'm so so sorry to hear your news. I get what you mean about wanting it to be over with asap rather than it lingering, but you will need some cuddles... and maybe brownies Grin Hope you and DH get some time together once the DC's are in bed to have some Respite and Relaxation!! Take care and as everyone is reminding you, we're here as and when you need us!! Even if it's just to ramble for bamblings sake!! :)

Diege · 15/11/2010 09:49

Thanks guys Smile. I feel ok today, though quite 'down' over the weekend which is perhaps a bit ott for 6 wks, but still I think it's the way that your whole life shifts in those early weeks, and then it goes back to how it was before that really seems to effect me Sad. Anyway, feel ok now. I've just rung the gp and the receptionist has booked me in today to see the emergency dr Hmm. Not sure why at all tbh, and will feel a bit of an idiot sitting there..Still, at least I will be 'on the system' and can ask about the anti-d too...
Dd2's actual birthday today, so the 3 days celebration finally comes to an end! Just that little thing dec 25th to cope with now Wink

NatalieJane · 15/11/2010 10:35

Not OTT at all, it's just as you say, for those few weeks your life had shifted gear, and don't forget those bloody hormones. I think you've done right to book in with the GP, it is good to get it on record. Just take things as easy as you can, and don't be thinking you shouldn't be upset or down or whatever, you're are allowed to be, with both of mine the biggest thing I felt was anger. x (Happy birthday to your DD :))

Hi everyone else :)

Diege · 15/11/2010 11:04

Thanks NAT, you're a good mate SmileI've had a bit of crossness over the small fortune I've spent on posh fertility supplements and the fact that I've not had a gram of caffeine for 11 months Angry but I suppose am more resigned at 40 to the possibility of mc.
Have rung in sick anyway, and will probably take tomorrow off too.
Hope everyone is ok, and thanks again for your thoughts over the weekend. It has really helped Smile.

GiraffeYoga · 15/11/2010 12:35

Morning

just checking in to see how Diege is doing. Glad you got a gp appt. It's definately not ott. Please dont feel you are not entitled to feeling sad etc because it was 6wks and not later. I think a couple of days off work on the wagon sofa is what the wagon dr ordered ! Brownie anyone?

I'm off this week so will hopefully spending some time on that sofa too :).
