Morning :o
Diege, what time is the scan? Is someone going with you? Thinking of you x
Gruff, echo-ing everyone else really, I am sure GC is doing brilliantly, I really don't think there is a 'right' or 'wrong' answer to the whole SAHM/Working mum thing. I am lucky in that DH earns enough for us to live fairly comfortably, yeah we don't go on massive holidays or have £1000's in the bank, but there is time for all of that, and TBH the thought of taking three kids on holiday isn't exactly a relaxing thought! But they don't want for anything, we go for days out, meals out, etc. In fact the only person under any sufferance is me! (boo hoo blah blah blah!) If you get chance to send those links, that would be really good please, I think the HV is pretty much on the ball and is doing everything that can be done at this stage, but it is always good to have my own look at things! I have seen the SEN code of practice on line, I need to read through it all properly TBH, have also got (and I assume it is the same sort of thing but a different name?) Special Educational Needs - A Guide For Parents and Carers, from The Children's Plan that they sent with the paper work for the formal assessment, need to read through that as well, when I've finished the paper work.
Think I have completely cocked up the DLA form, since I filled it all in (and even what I did do took four days!), I've realised that there is more I could have put on it about what he does/doesn't do, I should have gone into even greater detail etc. so I don't know whether to ring them and explain that I think there is more info to be added, or leave it and see what they say? It is really wierd, I had a handful of things I knew he struggled with, but since reading more and more, so much more has come to light, I'll be reading something and think 'George does that', I have taken to writing things on a list, and it's horrible, to look down the list at all the things he can't do, and see the list growing day by day :(
I was a bit (unreasonably) cross at nursery yesterday, they took them all to the library which is about a 10 minute walk from the nursery, when I went to pick him up at lunch, they said they'd been down to the library (hadn't told me they were going in the morning) and I asked if he'd walked it (thinking he'd never manage that far, never mind the return journey) and she said "No, we took three buggies with us, George stayed in one of them", so now you just know not only will he refuse to walk, even around the supermarket, he's going to be screaming for a buggy. IABU to be cross because they didn't know I suppose, and I can't expect them to carry him when he refuses to walk like we do, but am still a bit grrrr at them for introducing yet another problem for him to harvest.
Sorry am rambling, time for a brew I think!
