Hello Smile Dd3's birthday today (5 today) so just a quick one before the rellies arrive...
SES, meant to say, thanks for your advice about the pharmacy label mix-up. My parent live in quite a small village and know the pharacist well, so felt a bit odd about making a formal complaint (my mum used to be a nurse and had lots of contact with the chemist there). The pharacist himself is mortified and they have reviewed and updated their checking procedures, with lots of new posters/checks in place etc. I suppose it could have been really serious if it had been different drugs, but hopefully it won't happen again.
TINK, your legoland day out sounded great - we have been meaning to go for ages, but quite a trek. I think it was SORKY who went a while back? (on from the London meet?)
MMM, curry and fireworks - great combo Grin
Feeling ok - very tired, esp mid-afternoon onwards (party a bit of an ordeal yesterday, though good time had by all!) and have started feeling mildly nauseous in the mornings. Not sure when to register with midwife ?? Leave it a few more weeks perhaps? Confused
Hope everyone's ok Smile

tinkgoesbang · 07/11/2010 14:10

hi diege Grin

happy birthday to dd3 Grin

glad party went well

maxxymoosmummy · 07/11/2010 18:16

evening all,

DS has just fallen asleep in his tea, so hes now in bed bless him. thinking of an early nigh myself after x-factor.

DIEGE hope DD3 had a great birthday, glad party went well.
hi TINK

essenceofSES · 07/11/2010 22:35

Evening all! Just back from the hospital. Owen seemed better this morning and then got worse again this afternoon and then had high temperature, went all lethargic and threw up.
Anyway, turns out he has a nasty bout of tonsilitis. Dr only had to glance in his mouth as apparently they are huge. Just hoping the ABs kick in soon.

Not sure what to do in the morning. I know some little ones have gone to nursery with ABs for tonsilitis but I feel bad sending him in when he's not well. On the other hand, I've got 2 meetings tomorrow and I'm running a conference call at 9.30. I think I'll see how he is in the morning and see if I can work from home for the first few hours at least and then see how he is.

Diege - happy belated birthday to DD3 :)
As for registering with MW, if she's is the MW from hell and will stress you out, put it off!

MMM - bless M falling asleep in his tea!

Smithy - hello!! How's things?

Right, I must go and get some zzzzzzz!

maxxymoosmummy · 08/11/2010 09:11

morning,
waiting for M to wake up.
its freezin here, and horrible and rainy.
DS started with a temp last night, but was all shivery and breathin wierdly, managed to get him off to sleep properly about 1, but he was in n out of sleep before that. think its the month for illness again. need to do some xmas shopping, but looks like ill have to wait till hes better, if hes still the same.

SES hope poor O is ok. M had tonsilitus last year, and was awful. but the ABs kicked in, and he was fine. fingers crossed for O. and hope you managed to sort out work.

hello anyone lurking.

maxxymoosmummy · 08/11/2010 10:21

DIEGE hope your all ok, and thanks. fingers crossed its nothin too bad for M.
TINK hope you had a good afternoon with your mum.

i took M out for bit to get him some fresh air, took him to see my mums and dad for abit. but didnt really help. hes not eating properly, and all hes doin is sitting on my knee.

tinkgoesbang · 08/11/2010 22:33

Evening ladies Grin
Have had a good time with mum

essenceofSES · 08/11/2010 23:26

Tink - glad you had a good day :)

MMM - let's hope our boys wake up feeling better in the morning!

Diege - in the end, I stayed home this morning and the DH came home for the afternoon so I could go to a meeting. Not sure on tomorrow yet. O wasn't great today - had his first ever PJ day (well except for when he was tiny and had sleepsuit days!) His throat seems too sore to eat anything and he fights having his medicine as well. He did eat a satsuma and a few grapes before bed time and he has been BFing normally so I'm hoping he will feel better in the morning. If necessary, I'll take some time off again tomorrow though.

In other news, AF has arrived :(

I knew it was on the way though so at least we can make a start on the new cycle of ttc...

G'night! Hope we all have good nights!

Starshinetiger · 09/11/2010 11:01

Diege - HUUUUGE YAY for BFP!!!!! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Have been lurking and thought symptoms looked promising, but just no chance to post and also didn't want to jinx anything by saying they looked promising. So very excited for you.

Ses - sorry for AF, keeping things crossed for this month for you. Sorry for O being poorly too. DS had tonsilitis in Sept - we thought he had ulcers because he said his mouth hurt when he ate - I took him to the GP mainly because he was just tired all the time - like you, one look and she said tonsilitis. Only took a couple of days for the ABs to kick in and he was much better, so fingers crossed for O for tomorrow.

MMM - sorry for poorlies in your house too. Hope DS is feeling better soon. Nice to see you on here.

Nat - don't think I've been on since you were back (just lurking). Sorry for DS2 diagnosis, but glad you are getting such great support and that he enjoys nursery - is great when they enjoy it so much.

Gruff - glad pg is going well, but sorry for still feeling sick, hope that passes soon.

Can't - can't believe how quickly your pg is going from a spectator point of view.

Hi to everyone else - GYo, Tink, Smithy, Rugby, Sorky, Moos and anyone else I've missed. Has been a hectic couple of weeks, so no chance to get on. We had a date out at the American Football at Wembly, while PIL babysat, which was fab, but then followed a hectic week with visit to my bf and her 7 week old, 2 day trip to Dublin for work, late return, one night in our bed and then down to southwest to see friends. Have been quite glad to have yesterday and today at home with DC. Should really go and focus on DD now before we go and pick DS up from nursery.

Yay again for BFP Diege!

Rugbylovingmum · 09/11/2010 20:36

Hi all,

Star - good to hear from you.

Ses - Sad for AF, hope you have better luck this month. Sad for poor O having tonsilitis too, I hope that he is feeling better today. I had my tonsils out when I was 5 but I still remember eating bowls of soggy rice krispies and lots of ice cream as that was all I could get down.

MMM - Hope DS is feeling better today.

Hi Tink, Diege, Smithy and any lurkers.

I need some buggy advice. I love my Britax Vigour but if I'm popping to the shops and soft play it's a pain to keep lugging it out of the boot and putting it together. I want a new lighter umbrella-type buggy that folds up and down easily. I'm torn between getting something very cheap (but maybe less comfy) just to use for short trips and sticking with the Britax the rest of the time or spending a bit more for a buggy we can use all the time. Any recommendations? My DB and SIL have a Quinny Zapp and I hate it - too unstable, looks uncomfortable and no basket.

essenceofSES · 09/11/2010 21:47

Thank you for all your get well wishes for O. He's still v poorly and I'm debating getting him seen again tomorrow if there's no improvement. He's still got a high temperature - 39 this evening and then half an hour later after Calpol and ibuprofen, only down to 38.6.
He's so tired the whole time and not eating much except for raisins, satsuma, yoghurt and a little bit of weetabix at breakfast.

I've never seen him like this and I hate it :( Just really hope he turns a corner over night tonight.

I had to phone work today and say I couldn't go in. They were ok about it but makes me feel uselss. DH came home about 6pm and did at least give me a hug and tell me I was a great mum and a great wife. I said, just a shame I'm not a great employee atm and he laughed and said I can't be good at everything all the time!

MMM - I hope M is doing better?

Rugby - Sorry I can't help on the buggy front. We still have the Vigour but I'm going to ask one of my NCT friends if I can borrow a lightweight easy fold for when we go to Ireland between Christmas and New Year.

Star - does sound like a very hectic few weeks! Do things calm down a bit for you now?

Diege - hope you're feeling a bit sick to be reassured but not too sick IYKWIM!

Hello everyone else!

GiraffeYoga · 10/11/2010 07:25

Hi everyone

Im sorry for a short absence lately.

Ses- I am really sorry to hear that O is still so poorly. I'd definately get him seen again today if it was me. Even if it was for some reassurance that the tonsils were reacting to the antibiotics. Maybe even a call to NHS direct is worth a go for some reassurance. poor little chap.

What a lovely DH you have. :) Its very hard when you feel torn between work and home especially when you cant control it. I think when Bea had her ongoign run of sickness after starting nursery last Jan I eventually took 2 days off work as I just needed to focus on one thing. Fingers crossed he improves soon.

Diege- how are you feeling? I hope you'v stopped temping now. :) Happy Bday for DD as well!

Star- great to see you here. Any more update on any more star's for us?

Rugby- not sure I have any advice on buggies. I know gruff is a bit of a 'buggy specialist' as is Cant- so I hope one of them comes along soon to advise.

Hi Tink, MMM, Smithy, Moosy and everyone else.

Things are quite busy at work and I've got next week so I need to be super organised this week.

Will be lurking on and off today.

maxxymoosmummy · 10/11/2010 09:50

morning all,

thanks for all the get well wishes for DS, hes eventually starting to seem more himself. which is great. not been able to do much whilst hes been ill and clingy. so finally got a whizz round doing the cleaning this morning Smile
although he still hasnt got his appetite back fully, only still eating yoghurts. but at least its something.

SES hope O is feeling better, poor little thing. its the worst seeing LOs poorly and being unable to help much.
TINK good going on the present shopping
GYo hope things at work arent too busy for you, and calm down soon.
DIEGE how you feeling?

hi to anyone else i have missed STAR, RUGBY, CANT, GRUFF or any lurkers.

Rugbylovingmum · 10/11/2010 09:59

Hi Tink - it sounds good and it's not too expensive. How stable is it? My niece can tip the Quinny over if she rocks back and forth in it and if she wants to get out and walk for a bit you can't even stick your handbag on the handles or you have to sort of hold it up as you push it (and my handbag isn't heavy). I know lighter buggies tip more easily but I think the Quinny is particularly bad.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 10/11/2010 13:36

Rugby- quinny zapp's look really funky IMO, but it just wasn't very good for me, a bit too flimsy and i didn't get on with it parcticality-wise... I currently have a chicco liteway and of all the umberella buggie's i've had (in total i've had around 20 different prams now) it's at the top of the list!! Aswell as that i have previously got on with a M&P nipi... bit more expensive than the current pipi to buy new, but i'm sure you could get a good used or ex-display on ebay... The nipi was used for DD1 from about 12m-2.5yo... she could never tip it over herself, and it was really easy to use.

The chicco i have now will most likely be my 'boot-buggy' for DD2 until she's walking, again it's very sturdy, has never tipped up on me even with my massive bags of shopping on the back and DD2 still being a tiny dot weight-wise... :)

Have got a water infection :( went to MW yesterday and had to bring up the pains i was having in the area between what i'd say was my pelvis and womb area... tested my urine sample and showed infection, has sent off a sample so Dr can prescribe AB's before the w/end. Can barely walk without being crippled with pain- and my pain threshold is mightily high normally!! Feel such a moaner!!

Rugbylovingmum · 10/11/2010 14:16

Cheers cant - I might have a look on ebay and see if I can pick up either a chicco liteway or one of the M+P's in decent condition.

Sad for the water infection. I was prone to them when I was younger and even now I have to be careful to drink plenty and they are just HORRIBLE. I hope the ab's kick in quickly!

Diege · 10/11/2010 16:06

Hello! Just a quickie from work Smile. All fine here, though would like a few more symptoms to reassure...no sickness as yet (other than a few days of mild nausea last week), but only 5 weeks so early days. Nothing I can do anyway, so just sitting it out!
Oh and thanks for the congrats STAR! Sounds like you've had a hectic week Smile
Sorry for uti CANT, that does sound painful. Having suffered from them myself in the past, and having a very low pain threshold, I'd say you are not being a wimp at all for feeling rubbish!
Ok, on the buggies I will be the lone voice of dissent and say I absolutely love the quinny zap Grin. I'm on to my 3rd now and really like the fact that it's so manouevreable and light. Good for pushing with one hand, and I have a wedge basket thingy on the back, and one underneath too, so actually more storage space now than my maclaren (which I still love too Wink. I have found the straps a little short, but other than that, perfecto for my needs!
Right, students beckon!
