NatalieJane · 04/11/2010 10:16

Oh yes, toys, xmas, yesterday I was planning on a bit of a splurge today to get most of it done, then DS1 bought home two letters from school yesterday, first want's £60-ish for dinner money, second want's £75 by next week to go towards the London trip (have I told you all about that? £275 for a three day trip to London, it does sound like they will have a wonderful time but £275!!!!)

So a bit of a splurge may just have to be a tiny of a splurge!

DS3 is having Thomas the tank play table and track, though must admit, I am tempted to go for a cheaper table, but he ADORES Thomas.

DS2 wants a DSi and I'm sick of the arguments over the DS so I've caved Blush

DS1 wants an iPod Touch 4 or something

But we also have DS2 and 3's birthday in December, DS2 is having a computer (also because I sick of the arguments over DS1's laptop, so caved!) And I have no idea what to get DS3, it is so tricky having his birthday two days after xmas, am thinking maybe a wooden kitchen, but once his table goes in the play room it's going to be tight enough as it is, so could really do without another big toy in there. Wish I could be less OTT about birthdays, and more practical, he doesn't need any more toys two days after xmas, so I should just get clothes or something, but, I can't do it :(

maxxymoosmummy · 04/11/2010 10:19

fingers and toes crossed here for you DIEGE.

DS seems to be havin lots of fun playing with balloons atm, so managed to jump on here again for a little while.

GYo i find myself watching childrens tv even when M is having a nap soetimes haha. so your not the only one there.

maxxymoosmummy · 04/11/2010 10:25

sorry x-post NJ, i was considering train table for DS but just too big, so CANT has got him a take along thomas track which all goes nicely into a carry sort of thing Smile really looking forward to him getting it as he too loves thomas. shame about the 2 leters from school meaning you cant splurge as you had planned Sad

GruffaloSoldier · 04/11/2010 11:37

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! Congrats Diege! Yes I think you will find both me and Cant scolded you for testing too early - we were right Haha bloody brilliant. Sending you lots of sticky vibes (sounds charming, good job you know what I mean) Grin

Yay for trainsets, thats what we are getting GC! Not a table though. He can play with it on floor. As we don't know how much room we will have in the next place.

GYo - I watch kids tv, sometimes I become so absorbed in it and I realise that GC is playing and not even watching it and there I am glued to it! Haha :)

Hi to Ses, Tink, Moosy, Rugby, MMM, Nat, Cant etc

Im feeling better today so made it into work this morning as I had to give a new girl some training as its her first day. I will be going back in this afternoon (3-6pm) and GC in at nursery. Im feeling pretty tired now though :(

Right DH and GC just got back so better go ! Back on later.

essenceofSES · 04/11/2010 13:02

Hello!

Having a rare day to myself which has been quite productive so far in that I sold my old car! Just pocketed a nice little cheque :) Need to use some of it to pay off overdraft but will stick the rest in savings for now.

Diege - still Grin for you!

MMM - sounds like you're getting M the same as we're getting O for Christmas! My mum's going to get the Thomas mat/storage bag for him.

Gruff - glad you're feeling a bit better

Nat - I can understand you getting more toys for DS3 for his birthday. I'd do the same!

Moosy - LOL at your DH's face at the thought of 5DC Grin

Hello tink, Cant, Giraffe, Rugby and anyone else I've missed!

Temperature only 36.47 this morning so just waiting for AF now before starting on the rollercoaster again!

DH phoned earlier. He's decided to come home after his late shift tonight. He usually stays in a hotel when he finishes late which I don't mind as it's only about once a month and it saves him a few hours on the M25! Because he's away at the weekend though, he said he'd come home late and then at least he could see O in the morning :) Hopefully he wants to see me too!!

I need to tackle the ironing pile in a minute. I'm doing a marathon session watching all 4 epsisodes of Single Father. Did anyone else see it? I absolutely love David Tennant but I think he's better suited to more of a character acting role - like Dr Who, Barty Crouch Jr, Casanova.

Rupert Graves is in Single Father too though and I also think he's rather yummy too!

Right! No more waffle, you'll all be asleep!!

Rugbylovingmum · 04/11/2010 13:28

Ses - well done on selling the car and I hope you are enjoying your day off.

Gruff - Sad for feeling tired. Glad you are feeling better though.

Nat - Shock at the cost of the London trip. It's a lot of money to find for a school trip - I'd rather spend it on a family day out. It's a pain when birthdays are close to xmas isn't it - my brother, mum and I all have birthdays in January, DPs sister, brother and mum were all born in February and his dad's birthday is the end of December. It's sooo hard to think of presents for everyone and it cost a bloody fortune!

MMM - DS playing with balloons sounds so cute Smile

I'm still not sure what to get DD for xmas - she got plenty for her birthday and she's still too little to need much. I think we might go for a garage from elc and a cuddly iggle piggle (she has fallen in love with ITNG). I got a Happyland farm and elc till at the car boot sale that both look almost new so I might put those away for xmas too. Mum is getting her a pram and doll. I have told her DD won't be able to play with it yet as she can't even walk yet and she loves her buggy/walker which is much smaller and lighter but mum is very excited about having another little girl to buy for and wants to get it for her anyway Hmm.

Diege · 04/11/2010 13:46

Thanks everyone! It feels like I have done something really important Grin. I started to worry earlier on about whether it was a sticker, and contemplated buying more tests off ebay etc etc but then came to my senses Blush. Even if I were to start obsessively comparing lines over the next week, there's nothing really I could do as such at this stage. If I don't start feeling sick by say a fortnight's time, I'll make a gp's appointment, but just trying to keep things normal here for now.
I know what you mean about birthdays NAT. We have dd3's this weekend, and dd2's the following weekend, which has been a nightmare so far as I keep on forgetting what gift belongs to what child, which messages on phone relate to which party/guest/parent Confused. Dd3 has a party at one of those ceramics places, but we're doing our own food (a false economy I fear). DD3 is 'Build a Bear'-ing it,and we're taking the party on to Ask for tea. We also have a bonfire party tomorrow so quite a busy few weeks.
My dad is in hossy too due to the pharmacist putting the wrong stickers on the wrong meds..nothing too serious thank goodness, but he's had urinary retention as a result (in part) of the mix up. My mum wasn't too impressed as he missed moving day for them...nice one dad Wink
Feeling quite quesey here after my lunch, and metallic taste is back...I'm pleased!
And please no more xmas present talk - not until after dd3's birthday! Wink

Diege · 04/11/2010 13:47

Oh SES, meant to say that yes, I did see Single Father - well, the first episode. Didn't really grip me, so didn't watch the rest, but I know other people who stuck with it and found it excellent. On the other hand I am very much liking The Litle House - a bit close to home with my MIL Wink

essenceofSES · 04/11/2010 14:29

Wow! It's amazing how chatty the wagon gets when there's a BFP :)

Diege - I've watched the first 2 episodes of Single Father and I'm happy to stick with it. Just pausing for a bit of lunch!
BTW, I feel I need to apologise about the pharmacist making that error - really not good and should be pursued. Not just to complain for the sake of it but the pharmacy should follow through with the reporting of the error with steps in place to make sure the same thing doesn't happen again.

Tink - that's a great present list!

Rugby - Love the idea of a cuddly IgglePiggle :)

Catch you chatty lot again later!

NatalieJane · 04/11/2010 14:38

Afternoon :o

No splurge, talked myself out of it, questioning DS2's pressie choices now, he will be 4 next month and he's lined up for a DSi and a PC??? But then, apart from sodding Lightning McQueen, his trains and puzzles, he doesn't really play with much inside any more anyway.

MMM, You wait till M is a bit older and he's reeling off all the names of the trains and trucks and stations and you can barely get your head around the difference between Thomas and Gorden! I swear kids see things adults don't...

The only kids telly I get absorbed in (to the point where once or twice I've even asked the kids to quieten down for a minute so I can hear it Shock) is Tweenies Blush! Looooove the Tweenies! :o Hardly ever catch it anymore.

Ses, fingers still crossed for you :)

Rugby, I am still a bit Shock at the cost of the trip, but he is going on The London Eye, two 3D shows, guided tour of Tower of London, and a couple of other things that I've forgotten, but best of all, they're going to see The Lion King Envy There is a race going on in our family who will buy my twin nieces their first prams and proper dolls, after 7 grandson's my mum has sworn death by torture to who ever tries to get in there before her!

Diege, I think you've got the right attitude, hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Not entirely sure how anyone prepares for that, but I hope you know what I mean? Anyway, positive thoughts only from now on, Missus!

Single Father, think we did the same as Diege saw the first one and didn't bother with the rest. Am I thinking of the same one? The mum died, and the dad got off with her best mate (Thingymebob from Corrie?)

We are off to the nursery this afternoon to give them the enrollment forms back and sort out exactly what they will do with DS2 to help him etc. But it is raining again, and I am a bit worried that if I get wet once more this week other than in the shower I may just melt away!

Am going to be quiet now, was meant to be a quick catch up! Hi to everyone I missed x

maxxymoosmummy · 04/11/2010 14:49

all present ideas sound great Grin still not sure on wha else to get DS or wether to get him anyting else.

RUGBY i have got the pj iggle piggle for DS looks really cute. they are able to dress him for bed in his pjs, and read him a book with his own lil lantern. very cute Smile

NatalieJane · 05/11/2010 10:28

Morning :o

George has started nursery settling in session, just an hour, and not only did the little monkey not want me to stay with him, he barely even said a goodbye!! Far too busy in the kitchen cooking up an amazing plastic corn on the cob! He is going for the full 3 hours from Monday.

Think I'm going to ditch the DSi for him, get the wooden kitchen and all the bits between him and DS3, and then get the DSi at some point next year. Sort's DS3's pressies out as well!

MMM, Iggle child hypnotiser Piggle sound's v. cute :o

Tink, great pressie list :o

I've got 25 mins left till I've got to go back out and get him, hmm, what to do?

tinkgoesbang · 05/11/2010 10:40

Rugbylovingmum · 05/11/2010 11:09

Morning all,

Nat - Smile at George skipping off to play, I hope he has enjoyed his first hour. DD had a few clingy days last week and she cried when I dropped her off at nursery so now I REALLY appreciate how happy she usually is to get there.

Tink - what a great shopping list. I'm trying to hold myself in check and not buy too much but it's so exciting buying their pressies isn't it. Enjoy legoland.

Diege - how are you feeling today?

MMM - PJ Iggle Piggle sounds cute. DD doesn't really have a teddy or soft toy she is attached to but she loves ITNG so I think she might like this.

DD took her first steps yesterday, clever girl GrinGrinGrin. She has been charging around with her walker for weeks but wouldn't let go. Last night she was distracted watching Iggle Piggle and wiggling to the music and didn't notice when DP let go of her hand. Then when she did realise she walked over to him Smile. Then she spend the next 10 min walking back and forth between us, 4 or 5 steps at a time. We were both clapping and giving her hugs but she just looked Confused like she couldn't work out why we were so excited, bless her.

NatalieJane · 05/11/2010 11:47

He's home, and loved it! Tears all the way home...!

He'll be 4 in December Tink :) DS1 has got a DS, he wants the DSi for his birthday (6 months away and he already knows what he wants!) but all three of them argue over the DS, so I figured if we get the two oldest the DSi's DS3 can have the DS and then no more arguments, but it won't work, DS3 will want whichever the older two have, two eldest will be arguing over which colour is theirs or that they want to switch, and then switch back, and then switch again.... blah blah blah!!

Rugby - wow, well done DD!! :o They never quite get what all the fuss is about, I remember DS3's face, he looked at us lot all jumping around and cheering like we were loonies

Diege · 05/11/2010 12:57

Hello! Well sickness is here, pretty much to the day of when it started with ds. Not actually been sick yet, but recognise the slow build...Got another bfp today (my last sad little ebay cheapie) but did something really silly when I woke up - took my temp and there was a slight dip (36.86 to 36.75). Now I know a significant drop can indicate impending mc, but not sure what 'significant' is? Confused. I think I may well just stop temping full stop as if it's going to happen it will, and in a hard-hearted way I'd rather it happen asap than have another mmc at 10 weeks...
RUGBY well done for dd! That's very sweet the way she didn't notice, and there'll be no stopping her now!
NAT that's great news about ds and nursery!
TINKS, good going on the buggy shopping - do you have a link?
Right, must go and make dd3's birthday cake why I didn't just buy one I don't know Hmm

tinkgoesbang · 05/11/2010 13:36

Hi nat glad he had a good time
Rugby how clever
Dige tut tut temping
Will do link later

essenceofSES · 05/11/2010 15:34

Diege - STOP TEMPING!!!!
I carried on temping for about a week after my BFP with DS and it was torture! In any case, I'd not call your temp change significant at all so do not worry, but...
STOP TEMPING!!!

Rugby - yay for C!!! Love the fact that she didn't quite realise what an achievement she'd managed :)

Nat - that's great that DS2 loved nursery so much!

tink - Legoland trip sounds fab - enjoy!

Single Father - (Yes Nat, it was that one!) I got through the lot yesterday and glad I persevered but it seemed like they'd thought about the story line but not the characters IYKWIM.

I'm not having a good afternoon. I had to go into work to interview a pharmacist but I did it as quickly as I could as I've got really bad pre-AF cramps so I've just taken some paracetamol and ibuprofen. Nursery have also just phoned and O's got a temperature and a bad cough so I'll try and pick him up a bit early. DH now away until Sunday as he's going to the rugby in Ireland for the weekend.

essenceofSES · 06/11/2010 15:21

Hello everyone - hope you're all having a good weekend. Anyone going to fireworks?

O is really under the weather, bless him. I'm controlling his temperature with a calpol/nurofen combo and he's coughing and spluttering and has conjuntivitis! I don't think I've ever seen him this ill :( He's had a little to eat and he's taken fluids on but he's not had a proper nap today. Hope he'll sleep tonight!

DH phoned earlier to see how O was. He was in the pub outside the rugby ground in Ireland before going in for the match. He's just sent me a photo of his view of the match - he's right behind the goal posts :)

smithylovesme · 06/11/2010 19:10

Congratulations Diege :)

maxxymoosmummy · 06/11/2010 20:05

evening all,
SES sorry that O isnt well, por lil man, hope he gets better soon. Sad fingers crossed he sleeps ok for you tonight. great about your DHs view off the rugby game. Smile

went to my cousins last night for fireworks and curry Grin was great. DS was a bit scared by the fireworks at times, so was running inside to hide, bt then he would realise they was still going off so would then run back out shouting 'fireworks wooosh' haha.

hope everyone else is havin a good weekend.

tinkgoesbang · 06/11/2010 22:39
