Morning :o

Hoorah for car Tink, great stuff :)

Giraffe, a day off sound's fab! :o

Hello everyone else

Busy day today, got to nip to the shop, DS2 has a booster later on, taking him and DS3 on my own :( Not going to be good fun! Need to pack an over night bag for us all, back down south tonight to pick DS1 up, and then back up here tomorrow to pick the new car up, would be quite happy to go to sleep and wake up on Saturday!

BT came and did the phone line yesterday afternoon, so leaflets are being printed, hoping to get them out weekend after next. I am searchable on Google and Bing, and should be on Yell.com 'within 5 days' apparently :) All looking set to go I think! Just need to wait for HRMC to bloody register it, sent the paperwork off about 4 weeks ago, and not heard a dicky bird!

Spent all day yesterday filling in a form for DLA, literally took all day, they want to know everything about everything! Printed it off, for DH to look through last night thinking he can change anything he wants on the computer, and we'll keep the first copy for us, laptop crashed and lost the bloody lot Angry So looks like I'll have to do it all again on Saturday. Grrrrrr!

And I need to ring Tax Credits (wonderful job!), sort out about the disibility element or whatever they call it, sort out about when I need to tell them about me working, and find out if the business takes off and I need to put DS3 in nursery, if they pay towards child care, HV said they pay 80% but that sound's like far too much to me? But then, what do I know?!

Erm, think that's about it!

Right probably won't be back on for 100 years till at least Saturday, if not Monday really, so have a good weekend everyone, DH is on call, so not a lot happening here! 'See' you all next week x

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 28/10/2010 16:27

Rugbylovingmum · 29/10/2010 09:57

Hi all,

Nat - congratulations on finishing your course and getting the business started [hgrin]. It's very exciting! I'm sure you'll have your first job soon. DS2's new nursery sound fantastic, I hope he settles in well. The diagnosis must have been a shock but it sounds as though you are at least getting good support and advice.

Diege - hope you are having fun in Cardiff. Has af arrived yet?

Tink - how annoying about your car but great that you'll the fiesta next week.

Ses - hope you enjoyed the soft play.

GYo - hope you had a good day off. I'm very impressed at you making a cat's costume [hsmile]. DDs nursery are having a halloween party today but I just bought a skeleton top and put it on with her usual skirt and tights [hblush]. Had a small guilty 'bad mummy' moment when I saw the other childrens' fancy witch/vampire outfits but most of them looked very uncomfortable and the staff were already saying they were going to change the LOs into babygro's until the party. I might pinch your cat idea for next year though - sounds like it would be comfy and look good [hsmile].

Cant - glad the ms is getting a bit better. How do you feel today?

Gruff - so sorry about your mum needing more treatment [hsad]. It's good that they have found it early and that it's just a small amount but it must be difficult to stay positive when you are so worried. Please come and offload here anytime you need to. Sending a sneaky hug your way .

Sorry I have just been lurking for a while. Everytime I get halfway through a post something happens and I never get time to finish. Having a sneaky mn break at work now [hsmile]. We all seem to have been ill constantly for the last 2-3 weeks, first colds all round then DP and I had awful food poisoning then more colds [hsad]. I am finally starting to feel better today but I'm sooooo tired. Luckily DD has slept until 7 the last 3 mornings [hshock] so we have been able to get a few more zzzzz's. She is still racing around the house madly with her buggy Grin but she won't try to stand/walk on her own. She has suddenly fallen in love with ITNG this week too and watches it after dinner - she waves and nods at Iggle Piggle and tries to copy everything they do which is very cute.

I'm considering a career change - I'm sick of work and getting bored of research and I'm thinking about getting my teaching qualification. I'm not sure yet, it's a tough decision [hconfused]. I love science and I think I might be good at teaching it but I'm not sure about managing a classroom full of teenagers (I would probably teach 11-16/18 year olds). I'm going to do some observations at a friends school and a friend of my mums has said that I can do some teaching assistant type work experience in his school so I can get a feel for whether I really want to become a teacher. It's weird to imagine myself as a teacher but the friends I've mentioned the idea to have all said that they thought I would end up teaching. I'm going to look into it a bit more anyway. My plan would be to finish my contract here in early 2012, ideally we would have DC2 then so I could take paid maternity leave through that summer and possibly start my PGCE in the October. Not that I've been overplanning this already [hblush].

Right, I should probably go and do some work....

Rugbylovingmum · 29/10/2010 09:58

Oops, that was an essay [hblush]

GiraffeYoga · 29/10/2010 13:37

Morning! or should I say afternoon [hblush]

Day off here so I've just about surfaced and showered after a morning in bed sleeping and watching tele. Feel much better for the rest.

Going to get DD in a minute and then go and see my mum for shopping :)

Rugby- great to see you back. Party outfit sounds great! There was a kid in an all in one skeleton outfit at DDs nursrey. Looked great!

Career change sounds great too. Hope you enjoy the shadowing :)

Better go and get ready to get DD. :)

Hello any lurkers!

Back from Cardiff! Changed the wording on one of the census questions, so feeling very important Wink; look out Nick and David Grin
Rugby plans to teach sound great - I can really see you as a teacher and I know they're crying out for science teachers at secondary level. The kids wouldbe fine, but start wathcing waterloo rod just in case WinkGYO your morning and plans sound bliss! You deserve the rest.
Nat 80% paid sound about right re: your situation. Hopefully the Con-dems won't take it away Hmm as think rebates are safe for now.
Sorry to post and run but I need to get packed while ds sleeps for my London trip - train down tomorrow with friend, staying over in hotel, and watching Les Miserables (for the 3rd time Blush. Really looking forward to it!

Rugbylovingmum · 29/10/2010 15:24

Diege I'm very [henvy] - I love Les Miserables but haven't seen it in years. I am going to try to convince DP to take me for xmas but he isn't keen.

GYo - your relaxing day off sounds great!

afternoon nearly evening Wink

thanbk god for fri Grin
went for a walk with the girls this morning

cantmummyhaveabreak · 29/10/2010 18:58

evening.

God I feel so bad that i never get any time to get on. Half term has been so bloody hectic but i dont even know what we've been doing!!

Been doing tons of blimin xmas shopping!! Not much less to get now!! Have all the main xmas presents, most of their little bits, and have tons of clothes for each of them too.... just a couple of extra's to get for the girls... but i know it'll end up being much more than that really!! haha!!

still feeling a bit pukey- more so in the evenings than in a morning... but thats what happens when your bloody pregnant! Can't believe how bad it is this time- even with the medication!! Making me think a bit more about defo not having any more!! Tho seeing the scan, seeing a tiny little person, half made by me, growing inside me, seeing it's teeny tiny hands and feet, and it not being mine... really hit something inside me that i'd not felt about it before... i mean i'm still not bonded to it at all, but it did make me broody for another of my own.... Confused DH is so far away from ever being convinced tho- it'd never happen even if i could put myself thru all this again!!

Diod feel the first kicks the other night too- which again has put a different angle on it again... its odd feeling it moving, being a reality but again, nothing emotionally there like with my own... all feels odd, a bit wrong, like as a 'mother' that i'm just supposed to have them feelings... but good in the way that dispite carrying a baby thats half of me, that i feel much more positive that i can get through all this and still feel positive about what i'm doing, not sad for the loss IYKWIM...

right, bed time for the DC's here, and i'm bursting for the loo so best dash. will try and get back on asap. :)

essenceofSES · 01/11/2010 13:42

Hello!!!!
There's an echo in here!

Hope you all had a good wkend? Diege - how was your trip?

I have this week off work :) Although I did go in this morning for monthly reports, conference call, etc. Am now a free woman! Having a hot chocolate in Starbucks, then popping into town, then a bit of housework before picking O up from nursery.

tinkortreat · 01/11/2010 15:21

hi ses there is an echo!!

week off sound good

Diege · 01/11/2010 20:05

Hello! Trip was great thanks SES Smile. Les Mis was good (Gareth Gates as Marius!!) and hotel stay bliss. Was also served by Derek Wilton off Corrie in Covent Garden (he owns a toy shop there) so very exciting Hmm. Back to reality now! Enjoy your week SES, sounds blissful Smile
Hi TINKS - presume car business all sorted now?
CANT I think your feelings are totally normal; must feel odd feeling those first flickers, but very exciting too. I think broodiness is probably an understandable reaction. Are there other people who are surrogates that you can perhaps chat to? (thinking of the COTS organisation?)
Well 14 days past ovulation and temps still high Confused. Last test ( bfn) last Thurs, so will use my final test on Thurs if not sign of af. I wouldn't hold out for a honk though as have been there so many times!
Hope everyone is well xx

essenceofSES · 01/11/2010 20:45

Hello tinks :) Did DD1 enjoy being back at school today?

Diege - glad you enjoyed your trip. Have to say, I've never like Gareth Gates though. He always seemed a bit too fame hungry to me.
14dpo and no AF and still high temps does sound remarkably promising! Are you sure you'll be able to hold out until Thurs to test again?!

I'm 6dpo and obsessing Hmm Who invented the 2ww, that's what I want to know! Why couldn't it have been a 2min wait?!

maxxymoosmummy · 02/11/2010 09:09

hi all managed to get on again. i hate not being able to keep up. just so hard atm with DS getting older, he knows what he wants more and demands alot more time from me. so can only really do me things when hes asleep. waiting on him waking atm actually.

another day in today as the weather is awful and left my coat at my parents house over the weekend. did anyone do anything good for halloween? DS was at a party and loved it :D. he was a spider Smile

hope everyone is ok, can anyone update me briefly? and will try pop back more often, even if it is just one post an evening or something.

GiraffeYoga · 02/11/2010 09:23

Morning everyone and the big ECHO!

Tink- how is the new car?

Diege - w/e away sounds great. what a lovely treat. :) I am keeping everything corssed for you for a goof result this month :)

Quick post...

Hello MMM :)

Giraffe - sorry for :( and issues. Anything that will be helped by an offload? Thinking of you.

GiraffeYoga · 02/11/2010 09:52

thanks Ses. Will send you a FB message

OP posts:
Diege · 02/11/2010 09:55

Morning Smile. Hope you're ok GYO - as SES says we're here to help if we can. Sorry you're feeling Sad xx
SES, I totally agree about Gareth Gates. I was sort of neutral and then I read about him doing the dirty on his dp just after they'd had their baby, and that trunbed me right off him. I can say with some satisfaction that he was 'good' in the role of Marius, but not half as good as the performers in the other versions I've seen.
Hi MMM, don't worry about not keeping up, just good to see you when you can pop in Smile. We did trick or treating with the dds and ds (ok, I did, dh at home awaiting the knocks) which was fun. Ds is just about at the age where he realised the dds are getting goodies, so looked very glum until we got home and dh gave him his own packet of animal biscuits - his face was a picture Grin
Well another temp rise this morning and have resisted testing. Two more and I can officially test!

GiraffeYoga · 02/11/2010 10:07

thanks you guys are fab.

OP posts:
Rugbylovingmum · 02/11/2010 10:10

Morning all.

GYO - sorry for issues Sad. Please do offload if it will help. I can cremate whip up some wagon brownies and a pot of tea while we all get comfy on the wagon sofa.

SES - enjoy your week off. I'm very Envy!

Hi MMM, good to see you

Diege - have all my fingers and toes crossed on Thursday.

We've had a lovely but busy weekend, I've come into work for a rest today Wink. We visited friends down in Leicester - they've just bought a new house and set a date for their wedding so there was lots of gossip about decorating and dresses over glasses of wine. DD had a great time charging around the house. Monday we went to the softplay with some friends and then to the park in the afternoon.

I went to aerobics last night with my friend who is a teacher and she was ranting about the terrible year 9's she has just now and how awful her day was. It did make me wonder whether I am mad to be considering teaching Grin.

tinkortreat · 02/11/2010 10:30
