Hello all,

I just realised I put the 1000'th message on our last thread (uh oh, I think that's the limit), so in my Blush at not realising I'd reached the limit, thought I'd better start a new thread if anyone finds it.

Glad to see that some of you have your Quad test results back and they're good ones! Smile

I'm waiting for mine but I only got them done on Monday and the MW said that if it was high risk I would hear in 3 to 4 days by phone and if low risk I would receive a letter in a week or so, so I hope I don't hear any time before Monday! Fingers crossed!

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 15/09/2010 19:18

Are you by any chance posting from a phone, moonminmama? Grin I assume Memphis is "me know"?

My bump is firm at the top and squashy at the bottom (that's the bit that's just flab rather than proper bump, but fortunately no one else goes around prodding that bit).

Tarlia · 15/09/2010 20:26

W.Sheep Too right they are, I think we all deserve free change bags! Especially pretty ones.

My bump is like profs squidgy at the bottom, hard at the top. I've put on 1kg, so not back up to pre-pregnancy weight yet (I lost 3kg in the early days), its weird how the body totally begins to change shape. I'm still worried there might be a twin in there Shock I do hope not though, I would like to be eased into motherhood thanking you very much.

I read in my book that by 16 weeks the baby can feel when we poke the tummy/bump, mine must be seriously pissed off with me as I sometimes poke it a bit.

Teehee, moonmin, iphone by any chance? I'm doing that all the time. I'm guessing "Inaleays" = in early days. Grin Happy pink buying! I'm seriously overdosing on yellow and white!

I'm not getting a tripple or quad test, they only do it here if they are worried about the NT results I think, as my paperwork states 'special test'. Does it just look at the same thing as the NT bloods?

Hope everyone is having a lovely evening - I'm off to hit the sack. Nighty night xx

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 15/09/2010 21:08

I thought "Inaleays" was "I always"?

grigglepuff · 15/09/2010 21:10

Ah I thought 'in laws' :)

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 15/09/2010 21:23

Who needs The Times cryptic crossword when we have Mumsnet? Grin

moonminmama · 15/09/2010 23:09

let's me know is what it should read lol bloody iPhone - sorry!!

moonminmama · 15/09/2010 23:11

Oops i always is what the first bit means the second bit of gibberish is what it says in the previous post...note to self:reread posts before hitting post message button!!!

I do like to keep people on their toes Grin

EauRouge · 16/09/2010 09:09

Oh no, I'm rubbish at cryptic crosswords! Grin

My bump's quite firm but that might be because I carry all my weight in my hips, thighs and bum (which is massive now) rather than my waist.

I'm in a chipper mood this morning, DD only woke up twice last night and didn't ask for booby either time- could this be a sign that night weaning is actually working? Shock fingers crossed!

The baby was kicking this morning so I told DH to put his hand on my tummy and the baby gave him a big kick Grin has anyone else's DP had a go at feeling kicks yet?

Deliaskis · 16/09/2010 09:22

Am a little jealous of people feeling proper movements. I thought I had some flutters last week but they've gone and nothing since so I assume it was something else, or baby just turned around and then is now kicking somewhere I can't feel.

My bump is also hard at the top and squishy lower down (yep, the bit that was a bit squishy before I was pregnant). Looks like a proper bump though which is nice. I kind of thought as I was a 'larger lady' before, that my bump would not be noticeable as soon, but it really is, and if anything has ...errmmm...tucked up some of my less attractive parts that were a bit flabby before, they've kind of been incorporated into the bump so I look in better 'shape' than I did before.

Feel like 20 week scan is ages away, but actually, we go away on the 25th and it's the Tuesday after we come back so it will probably be here quickly enough.

Hope everybody is feeling happy and healthy.

Dx

angels1 · 16/09/2010 09:36

I'm same as deliaskis in movements - I very occasionally feel something odd in my tummy and think it could be movements, but it's only happened in the past 2 or 3 weeks 2 or 3 times, so not sure.

And my bump is hard at the top but very, very squishy towards the bottom.

Moving in the night it becoming a very very hard manouvre - ouch to the ligament pain!

I'm waiting with great excitement for the postman today as I'm hoping he'll be delivering all the christmas presents I've ordered online - decided to get very organised this year early what with the having to sort out baby things and move in dec/jan I think I'll have too much to think about and will want to get as much organised in the new home as possible and christmas shopping looking like a hippo will be the last thing I want to do, so am planning early Grin

Wanderingsheep · 16/09/2010 09:47

I'm another one whose bump is hard at the top and squishy at the bottom! I have a little bit of saggy skin from previous pregnancy that no amount of exercise will shift so that's the squishy bit! I'm hoping it will firm up as I get bigger.

Tarlia, we don't get offered an NT scan or bloods here, just Quadruple test at 16 weeks. I wished we did though, I feel like I'm on pins waiting to see if something's wrong.

Wanderingsheep · 16/09/2010 09:50

Sounds like a good idea to get organised, Angels! I didn't even think about traipsing round the shops (or should that be waddling around the shops?) looking and feeling like a beached whale!

angels1 · 16/09/2010 10:59

Well, I'm officially an emotional wreck too - just cried at watching the pope arrive in Scotland - and I'm not catholic! lol . It did make me think, however, that the popes visit could have prompted a hillarious Fathed Ted special - I'm imagining Father Ted, Dougal and Jack all waiting in a procession to meet him and all the funny things that could happen (inappropriate rude words from father Jack, Dougal being confused as to who the pope is and getting embarassed by talking to nuns, Ted being desperate to tell the pope about how he won the 'golden cleric'). Maybe with Father Larry Dove (who always has a big accident when Ted rings him) falling off the wall of Edinburgh castle, the character of Graham Norton doing a special song and dance especially for the pope, Mrs Doyle forcing the pope to a cup of tea, and Bishop Brennan getting cross at something or other. Oh it could be great... Wink

scubamummy · 16/09/2010 12:02

Hi ladies! Hope all is well with your bumps. Lots of movement sounds good! (until we all start getting kicked in the ribs of course!)

Just thought I'd post my scan results here, all is well and we're having a GIRL! She happily showed off her lady-bits, shameless!

EauRouge · 16/09/2010 12:08

Aw, that's lovely, congrats scubamummy. :)

angels1 · 16/09/2010 12:16

Fabulous news scubamummy :)

I'm so annoyed - having waited all morning for my delivery of christmas pressies I quickly go to the loo, hear no door bell and come back to the front room to find a 'you were out...tough luck...we'll try again when we can be bothered' note from the delivery person - grrrrrrrrr. This really really drives me mad Angry

OP posts:
byronicheroine · 16/09/2010 12:30

angels that is so typical, in fact I was about to write something along the lines of 'oh, wouldn't it be funny if you just went to the loo...' but now I realise it's not funny at all. Just annoying! Thank you for pointing out that the usual grind of xmas shopping will be 1000x worse with bump. I'd best get on it too. Gah!
eaurouge we'd better never meet in RL, it sounds like we have identical taste in men and that would be trouble r.e. our respective parters (or a lot of fun, depending on how you look at it...!)
My sister is coming out from the uk this weekend and the only things I can think of for her to bring are chocolate (cadbury's), bacon (real rashers.. mmm) and a copy of Heat. What does that say about me?

Great news everyone with scans, can't wait for mine next week

Trojan1970 · 16/09/2010 12:56

Great news Scubamummy and all the others who know what they are having.

Angels you've made me LOL with your version of Father Ted.

I'm sat here cursing the numpty in the office who has gone mad with the air freshener which I HATE! It makes me feel really sick and head achey.

I'm bunking off early today to go to an open day at DS1's potential first school.

Deliaskis · 16/09/2010 13:39

Angels1 thank you from me also for pointing out the Christmas shopping might not be something I will be that enthusiastic about this year, so getting an early (and online) start sounds good. You've got me all inspired, I will now be spending this afternoon looking for presents rather than working Wink.

Will then spend the next week with my legs crossed not going to the loo in case deliveries arrive!

D

angels1 · 16/09/2010 14:01

Well, for those doing their christmas shopping online today I can recommend the Hawkins Bazaar website - MIL always moans FIL is grumpy and it has become a family joke so we got him a 'mr grumpy' mug there for him which I know he will take in good spirits. Did see a 'little miss scatterbrain' one for MIL but thought she might not see the funny side Confused. ALso there's an offer ending today on l'occitain where when you spend £35 you get a big free shower gel worth £12.50. Not sure if I'll gift it or just have to keep it Hmm. Also Past Times have got a buy one get one half price on everything. Lots of bargains to be had!

deliaskis I've booked the delivery to try again tomorrow - I will be sitting by the front door awaiting delivery ALL DAY - no quick loo trip for me! Wink

OP posts:
angels1 · 16/09/2010 14:02

Oh, and if I haven't tempted you all away from work to shop then think that the more christmas gifts you get now, the more you'll have spare cash left nearer baby d-day to get lots of nice baby things Grin

Wanderingsheep · 16/09/2010 14:41

Lovely news Scubamummy!

Angels, have you thought about being a script writer Grin.

Byronicheroine, what about tea? You know that you can't get a nice cuppa anywhere other than the UK! Wink

Deliaskis · 16/09/2010 14:44

angels1 I love Hawkins Bazaar!

Have fun wriggling/hopping from one foot to the other waiting by front door tomorrow Wink.
