Hello all,

I just realised I put the 1000'th message on our last thread (uh oh, I think that's the limit), so in my Blush at not realising I'd reached the limit, thought I'd better start a new thread if anyone finds it.

I've been wondering about underwiring too - I'm normally a 32FF and expanding out of all of my bras. I can't do without underwiring. I read somewhere that as long as it fits really well the underwire shouldn't be a problem. Has anyone heard otherwise? I think a trip to Bravissimo for a measure and maybe some hotmilk shopping.

Grannyapple · 31/08/2010 22:50

Hi ladies-aha-found the new thread-woo hoo!

Had my 16 wk appt today & got my notes-was all bog standard til I noticed they had my address noted as my old address ( which I haven't lived in for at least 3 yrs & is a good 50 miles away from where we live now!) was wondering why I never got my letter about getting anti d?! Oh, they also had me circled as divorced, despite Hubby (1 & only!) being with me at all appts!

Other than that, all was well & got to hear heartbeat which was lovely. Feel as tho bump & boobs have exploded tonight.

Handing in application for maternity leave firm into work tomorrow so no going back now..

Re maternity tights-I've ordered some from topshop but have yet to wear them ( silly confusing weather!). Struggling with work clothes too but dotty p seem to have some alright looking smart work dresses so will try them at w/e-need to get decent work shoes too now.

Good luck to everyone with appts/scans coming up-20 wk scan is 4 wks away & now I can't wait for it!

ledkr · 31/08/2010 22:53

Sorry prof don't want to wish that on you!
Knitta hope yet are bearing up. I don't have the bra prob as mine are fake and stay the same. Also don't suffer sore engorged ones after birth.
Went swimming today and booked with trainer to plan a programme suitable for pg.felt really proud afterwards but don't know how ill be on Thursday when got to do it!

angels1 · 01/09/2010 08:56

ledkr i now have a very glamorous picture of you from your comments of always wearing full make up etc. I'm such a scruff at the minute - haven't put a shread of make up on in about 3 months (although that is unusual, I've just been too tired to bother and not really gone anywhere).

Looked online at maternity tights and was suprised at how much more expensive they are to normal ones (or maybe it's just where I'm looking (?) ). I usually buy the really thin ones in a box with about 4 or 5 pairs for £5 as I wear them once or twice and ladder them (I've tried the more expensive ones but I ladder those too, so have given up and stick to the cheapys).

linz I've had heartburn on and off for a week or so so sympathise. I've found it worst at night and it helps to be propped up with 4 pillows (so I sleep practically sitting up), and gaviscon is great. The pregnancy sites say drinking milk hellps and not eating too much in one go.

Lovely weather today.

Morning ladies, just saying hi to the new thread.

Currently DH and I are trying to decide whether we can get the house on the market, sell and move, before I reach the stage where it will all completely stress me out. Might be better to wait...

Enjoying the lovely weather, and hoping for a few weeks like this!

Got my 16 wk apt on Monday, no bloods as had NS, hoping to get a date for 20 week scan soon...

Hope you're all well.

Dx

40Weeks · 01/09/2010 09:31

Agreed hotmilk bras are the best, and most comfy too. The only ones that dont make me feel like I am an 80 yr old too. You can get them via figleaves I believe or just google the name.

linz I know how toy feel with the heartburn. It hasnt kicked in tey but last two pregnancies I suffered badly. The were boxes of Gaviscon everywhere until I realised Renee was much cheaper. I was eating them like sweets it was so bad. Hope you get some relief soon. Old wives tales suggests a hairy baby (?!) and have to admit, both mine were born with mops on their heads (much to DH delight as I had disregarded it as poppycock)!

40Weeks · 01/09/2010 09:37

apologies for the appalling typos. I am not concentrating obv and keep spelling things the wrong way! Blush

suzym1984 · 01/09/2010 09:48

Hi ladies, hooray for the new thread! I must try and keep up this time but have been so busy trying to cram things into the last of the summer hols! Back to school on Monday and I am dreading it, sooooo tired just sitting at home, God knows how I will cope with a class of boisterous yr olds!

I have my 20 week scan in 2 weeks on the 17th July. I cant wait! Not going to find out if we are pink or blue tho :-(

As for buying things, I have bought lots of little vests etc and some cute blankets. Me and DH are also going to look at prams today, as I fancy a Quinny Buzz 3 and a ahop near us has an offer of the pushchair, car seat and carrycot for £525, which is a bargain!

Also going to the gym in a minute, wish me luck as I am feeling in a very lazy mood!

suzym1984 · 01/09/2010 09:50

Sorry about that messy post! Boisterous 5 year olds! And shop not ahop!

suzym1984 · 01/09/2010 09:51

Oh and deliaskis Dh and I have our house on the market, had a viewing on Friday and are waiting to hear from them today, fingers crossed for us everyone please!

40Weeks · 01/09/2010 10:23

I am soooo tired and have cleaning to do as have a friend coming for lunch, and have to convince the kids to get in the car as we need some chicken feed. There should be a smiley for [lazy snoring face]

40Weeks · 01/09/2010 10:24

Fingers crossed suzym

byronicheroine · 01/09/2010 12:06

I heard the HB last night and have the scan booked for 4 weeks' time. We decided to find out the sex as I think I'll cope better with 'disappointing' the Greek grandparents at 5 months rather than post birth! I must now go bra shopping...

wigglesrock · 01/09/2010 12:07

Hello, fingers and toes crossed for all with "house stuff", we finally got our house sold and we moved into our current house a year ago this week!!! Have been the happiest ever, since we moved, had to move because of dh job and the whole thing became really stressful.

40 weeks have to agree with your dh re heartburn, I had really severe heartburn with dd1, hairy maclairy baby, no heartburn with dd2 - bald as a coot, have had some heartburn so far with this one!!! I had never had heartburn before being pregnant and the pain was so bad with dd1 I thought I was dying until dh told me what was wrong Blush.

Have had busy few days, dd1 started P2 yesterday, oh to be 5 and soooo excited about going back to school!!! Am able to get bit more organised with dd2 now, my mum takes her on a Wed morn so have passed the morning reading trashy magazines and trying to ignore the mess in the house!!!

40Weeks · 01/09/2010 12:18

Oh wigglesrock what a lovely sounding morning! Half of me cant wait for kids to go to school and half of me doesnt want them to get any bigger. But with 3 of them at home all day come end of Feb (all being well) I am sure I will wave them off happily to school and preschool!

wigglesrock · 01/09/2010 12:53

I was a mess last year when dd1 started primary school she's a late June baby so was only a few months past 4 when she started!! But she loved it and everyone she met!! Have got DD2 (she's almost 3) into a play-group for a few hours a day, starting in a couple of weeks Grin. I work Fri, Sat & Mon, so it's strange being off mid-week on your own but oh so quiet!!!

wigglesrock · 01/09/2010 12:57

Also - slight disadvantage to reading trashy magazines all day!! Am sort of getting annoyed that Suri Cruise has better shoes than me Grin and seriously how can Jessica Alba and child always look so good grrr . See I am now talking as if I know them Blush. Time to go and start looking presentable for the school run, bet Jennifer Garner doesn't have that problem!!!!

CheeseChomper · 01/09/2010 13:03

Hey ladies, found the new thread too, woo!

I'm going to check out these 'HotMilk' bras pronto as have been wearing a rather frumpy M&S maternity bra- not a good bedroom look, especially as DP doesn't seem that interested in any bedroom action at the moment, i'm sure bump is not a huge turn on for him, although he's still very loving and cuddly! Need to entice him- just starting to get my mojo back! Grin

Can anyone else feel their baby yet? I've been feeling him for a few days now, feels so weird but lovely! Was convinced it was wind at first Grin

Deliaskis · 01/09/2010 13:15

CheeseChomper I think I may have been feeling little movements. It's my first pregnancy and I know it's early so it could be just wind, it just feels slightly different, like it's just in a slightly different place internally. Still low down, but different on the front to back spectrum IYSWIM?

Might be wrong though!

angels1 · 01/09/2010 13:31

Hey, Just got back from my mw appointment - think I overdosed on my time slot as was in there about 45 minutes and there was a fair q when I got out Blush. Had a few things to ask them and there was a student mw there as well as the 'regular' one so everything took longer. They found hb Grin it sounded more like a skipping rope than galloping horses though - maybe we'll refer to the bean as skippy :) Had to do a urine sample and was suprised to be given a coloured stick and told to wee directly onto it - I thought they'd give me some kind of pot and then dip the stick in to it (?) maybe they're saving money on the pots or something. Also foud out I might have to have the diabetes fasting test at abou 24 weeks (oh no Sad ) as I'm a higher risk with my BMI since I've put on weight from eating all the time. I said it was unfar as they are counting my 15 week weight as the same as my booking in weight (which might have been taken 2 months ago) so it was bound to be higher (they didn't weigh me at booking in). They said I might eb able to get around it by visiting the diebetis nurse and testing sugar in urine regularly and giving these results to her instead - sounds much better :)

They've given me another appointment at 19 weeks and again at 20 weeks (in addition to the scan) - not sure why. Think they want to keep an eye on me as I'm so anxious about everything and struggling to wonder how I'll cope with work when I can barely get out of the house still.

Got my figleaves order of bras through today - I ordered Royce ones in 4 different sizes to find one that fits. Picked one that fits well enough but it comes up so high at the front it's a bit obvious on my new maternity top. Hoping since the top is black and so is the bra it will be OK....

Speaing of figleaves, I got 20% off my order. Can't remeber the code I used but I got it from searching 'promotional code figleaves' or something of that nature into google. I always do that when I buy online (as I'm a cheapskate) as there are heaps of websites full of money off codes for popular websites)

I'm awaiting with excitement the delivery of my maternity dress from next :)

EauRouge · 01/09/2010 13:33

I was told at Bravissimo that underwired bras are fine as long as you are sure they fit.

Sorry I haven't had time to read the whole thread, DD is continuing her efforts to be the world's worst toddler. SHe was screaming her head off for 2 hours last night and I"m absolutely knackered.

Someone was asking about homebirths- I am hoping for one this time, I really want a waterbirth and I think there is room for a pool if I rearrange a bit of furniture Grin

BTW I have name changed, I used to be sweetnitanitro but I fancied a change! Sorry for any confusion.

jackinthebump · 01/09/2010 13:48

Eau Rouge - formula 1 fan?!

Someone mentioned earlier about feeling movement- I have been feeling them since 14/15 weeks, just getting stronger now! I thought it was a bit early but as I have 2 in there not that unusual!

Hope everyone is well! Ordered our Pram at the weekend, should arrive soon! Never thought I'd get excited about such a thing!!!

EauRouge · 01/09/2010 14:17

Yep, got it in one Grin

What make of pram did you order? I shall have to dust off the carry cot for my maxi taxi and try to find the connector bits, although I am planning to carry the baby around in the sling most of the time.

Deliaskis · 01/09/2010 14:46

Grrrr...just had a very frustrating hour and 15 mins driving around Cheshire/South Manchester looking for maternity clothes. Have under bump trousers on today and they are sooooo uncomfortable so said I would take a long lunch and pop out to M&S/Next/John Lewis at Handforth for new strides. Well M&S had a total of one pair of trousers, the same uncomfy ones I have on now, Next no longer stock mat wear (despite it being a big retail park sized store), and John Lewis also no longer stock any. I guess I should have called first but I assumed as Next & JL are so big they would have something. And the Jojo Maman Bebe in Knutsford where I work has no maternity wear, only baby stuff. Starting to feel like som weird subset of people with 4 arms and 3 legs or something rather than just a pregnant lady.

So there's an hour of my life that I'll never get back.

angels1 · 01/09/2010 15:55

oh man, I've just really depressed myself. Was googling all the medical terms in my maternity notes (being a nosey) and in my scan report it says ultrasound view was restricted by adiposity. No idea what this was but sounded interesting so I looked it up...and found it means fat/obese (so that's why I had to have an internal scan at 12 weeks - she told me it was the babies position was awkward, unless that's what it was and she just covered it up with me being a fatty). I am actually crying now - how can I go from a 'normal' weight person less than a year ago who went to the gym 4/5 times during the week and then a jogging club at weekends to an obese ugly person who has spent 3 months doing nothing but eating to feel half human, with no signs of this getting any better. I swear the kids are just going to laugh at me when they see me when I'm back at school next week with the ugly change that has been upon me. I just want to curl up and die with depression. sorry, but I had to let it out.
