Hello all,

I just realised I put the 1000'th message on our last thread (uh oh, I think that's the limit), so in my Blush at not realising I'd reached the limit, thought I'd better start a new thread if anyone finds it.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Lula, you could dress your daughter head-to-toe in pink and stick a big bow on her head and there will still be someone that asks if she's a boy or a girl Grin so just dress her however you like. My DD has a mixture of boys and girls clothes.

moonminmama · 13/09/2010 17:57

Fab news about all the scans. Mine is tomorrow and i am sooooooo excited!!! I think I'm having a boy but dh thinks girl!

As for the dreams mine have been random blokes I don't know... Though with choice it would definately be Gary :)

Regarding the bikini. I was very very proud of my bikini body last year on holiday. I worked very hard for it and thought it looked good (even if I do say so myself Smile) now however is an whole other story!!!

knittakid · 13/09/2010 18:13

Great news on the girls front! soooo jealous! I don't even know when my scan is, but not in another 4 weeks...

Thanks angels for asking, the depresion is sooo much better, talked to the midwife but it just kind of went away, might have been purely hormonal.

americanexpat all I have to do is weeding, as it is all there is, luckily it is not just brambles, it's got variety... the friend I'm going to do it with was wondering if babies would like to eat slugs...he's already got plans to make 'it' work!

re bikini, I have no problem wearing one, but my belly is soooooo hairy now that I might have to start shaving it, does that mean it's a boy?

Wanderingsheep · 13/09/2010 18:34

Moominmama, are you going to find out the flavour? Good luck for tomorrow!

Lulabel, I remember when DD was 5 months old, we were Christmas shopping and she was in the pushchair. DD was dressed in a pink coat, pink hat and gloves. An old dear came up and said, "aww, how old is he?" Hmm and my friend's DS was mistaken for a girl while dressed in blue so I don't think it matters really!

janedoe25 · 13/09/2010 18:35

Fab news with all the scans and little girls! I cant wait until my scan 3 wks on tues, think i may burst with excitement!
Erm knitta my tummy is very hairy too Blush thinking about using hair removal cream before my scan!

Hope evryone is well x

Wanderingsheep · 13/09/2010 18:36

Glad you're feeling better Knittakid! Smile

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 13/09/2010 18:41

Lulabel, it's a well-known fact that if you put a girl in clothes featuring a helicopter her knees will turn green and her ears will fall off. You must hereafter stick solely to fluffy kittens, bunnies and ponies. Or less-fluffy butterflies and ladybirds, at a push.

moonminmama · 13/09/2010 18:49

We are hoping to find out pink or blue Smile I honestly don't mind this time. Really wanted a boy first time round (and got one yey!) but this time don't mind. Quite fancy the idea of decorating a pink room but that's about all lol

I am really glad to hear you are feeling better knitta x

Wanderingsheep · 13/09/2010 18:55

Mines 7th October, it seems ages away!

Trojan1970 · 13/09/2010 18:58

Congrats to those who have had their scans and know what flavour they are getting. Counting the days till ours (4th Oct) and plan to find out this time too.

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 13/09/2010 19:02

Mine is 19th October.

Nine
teenth
of
October.

That's bloody ages away.

moonminmama · 13/09/2010 19:04

Ours seemed like ages away when we got the date but it's absolutely flown by!! Half way there!! I picked up my free changing bag from boots after joiningtje baby club and I'm getting so excited. I know it's ages away yet, but I've already thrown a few things into the changing bag lol. I know I'll repack it a million times but it's still fun to do :)

moonminmama · 13/09/2010 19:05

Aw proff. I hope time flies for you like it has me!

EauRouge · 13/09/2010 19:28

How many girls is that now, 3?

I had a really hairy bump with DD Blush and I'm hairy again this time. Everyone keeps saying it must be a boy though because I've hardly been sick at all this time (last time it was horrendous).

I wouldn't worry Janedoe, I'm sure the sonogrophers see hairy bumps every day Grin

I haven't got a date for my scan yet, hope they manage to squeeze it in before February!

ledkr · 13/09/2010 19:49

gosh we are finding out now arent we? Great news everyone on the scans im glad the girls are coming in cos "I WANT ONE TOO" were told at nt scan its a girl but thats only 91% accurate so on Friday will hopefully be confirmed.I dont mind if its a boy cos its dh first but ive got 3 blue and one pink and she would love a sister and the carpet is pink in the nursery. We are not going to confirm or deny to rl tho so im so glad we can come on here and share cos i cant keep a secret.Me and dd saw a tiny Ted Baker fur coat on Sat so i am going to buy it if it is a girl.
lulamy 3rd son was a ballet dancer so we dont do gender sterytyping here either. Im sure if i dont get my way and it is a boy dh will have it in an arsenal kit asap. I have my Liverpool fc t shirt ready to wear in hospital tho:o
angelsrelax now the relic pram is still in essex as i politely declined the kind offer.
It was very hard to do as i was so looking forward to wandering the streets of Orpington with it and a wild look on my face in the style of Bette Davis in baby Jayne mascara cascading down my cheeks.
Oh yes and i actually look better in my bikini than when not pg cos it sort of streches out the flab and i have a firm tummy which is not the norm.

debka · 13/09/2010 20:47

Wiggles I am just like you- a really lazy slob at the moment- just moved house and there are boxes everywhere but I just can't be arsed to unpack any. DD is happy running around and jumping on me whilst I laze on the sofa!

Anyone else have sore boobs? I thought they were meant to stop hurting by now. Or perhaps it's the 18 month old girl who uses them as handles for Mummy-climbing....

V exciting, finding out what we're having. My scan is 27th, by which time I'll be 21 weeks.

PS another Robbie fan here...

smallblackflowers · 13/09/2010 21:18

Evening all, I'm back from my week away, full of a cold and with an eye infection, but had a lovely time.

Congrats to all who found out whether they're getting a girl or a boy - I'm due to go for my scan on Friday, and am thinking girl as my pregnancy has been virtually the same as with DD....watch this space though, although I'll be in shock if its a blue one - my family can only seem to produce those of the pink variety! My bump is a little hairy, but I've never given the sonographer a second thought, as long as I'm clean and smell nice I'm sure that's an improvement on some people that they see (given what I see in the waiting room sometimes) Grin

I was always a Mark fan last time round, but think I'd go for Gary now. Never could see the Robbie appeal (sorry ladies!).

Wish I did have a libido, there has been no nookie for 13 weeks now. Poor DH. I seem to have gone from feeling sick and tired all the time to having a constant cold / headache. Just wish I felt like my old self again in that department.

With regards to crazy dreams, I keep dreaming that I have lots of spots all over my body, like chickenpox or something similar..not at all interesting Hmm

wigglesrock · 13/09/2010 21:25

Off to bed now, have got desperate heartburn all of a sudden and feel that I have been hit by the tiredness truck. Also have seem to have lost control of all my emotions all of a sudden - weeping uncontollably then laughing hysterically, seem to have adopted the personality of my 2 year old.

Fingers crossed for some nice dreams tonight, hoping they will feature the delectable Brandon Flowers and not some random work colleague Grin

jackinthebump · 13/09/2010 22:35

Good to hear all these scans coming in, mine is next Tuesday!

I also had a very strange dream last week - we went to 20 week scan and it was fine for the first baby, all ok but he was laying in front of the other so they couldn't see the second one. So they cut me open and took out the first baby, gave him to me while they carried on the scan, during this time we (baby and I) had a chat about what his name was going to be, then when they finished the scan they put him back in and sent me on my way!!!!

So first born may well if a boy be called Oliver as a result of this bizzare dream!!!

grigglepuff · 13/09/2010 23:02

just thought I'd mention that I managed to find baby's heartbeat with my doppler the other day - thanks for the tip Ledkr!
However, I took DH with me to mwife appointment today and she found the heartbeat again and he commented that it sounded like the doppler at home. We were all happy and then the mwife mentioned we shouldn't be using the doppler as I'm not trained to pick up the subtleties etc. Then when I went to the loo she said to DH that they can be dangerous as one woman thought she was picking up heartbeat but actually the baby was dead...
horrible stuff!
Also she had never seen anything like the letter I've been sent about my high level HCG before - which has put the fear back in me! Overall a bit of a rubbish appointment.

Apologies for the negative self centred post! Especially when everyone's having a lovely time re scans just feel as soon as I start to feel comfortable with pregnancy and happy something comes along to scare me again!

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 13/09/2010 23:27

But you obviously do know what the heartbeat sounds like, given that you hadn't been mistaking all the other noises for it. And you aren't trying to pick up subtleties. She's just being an arse, and a manipulative arse at that trying to work on your DH while you're out of the room.

Would have been so tempted to say "So, you're not trained in the subtleties, then?" when she expressed ignorance of the hCG letter...

ledkr · 13/09/2010 23:31

I heard that too but I find it very reassuring to hear hb and can easily define it. don't use it as diagnostic tho. surely if baby is going to die it will do so whether you have a dopler or not! I think as long as you still are sensible and let medics know if you think something is wrong and just use dopler as bit of fun its ok. mw being bit sensationalist me thinks. you could hear hb with her then immediately have prob with baby after!

ledkr · 13/09/2010 23:38

glad u agree prof! makes me cross. My mw nice but don't find her that knowledgeable tbh. Had to push re both bodies explaination and and now going to hospital phlebotomists for 2 wkly bloods as she makes such a hash of it I found vein for her last time. glad she's not delivering me!
My mate rang hers at 22wks to say she was bleeding and she asked what she expected her to do?

ledkr · 13/09/2010 23:41

Anti bodies sorry

grigglepuff · 14/09/2010 07:53

Thanks ladies - you're right I'm not using it as a diagnostic, it's just lovely to listen to it every now and then. I always find it hard to stand up for myself with medical folk (and midwives as it would seem) and was really upset when I heard what she'd said when I was out of the room. To be honest I'd heard that before so bought the thing with caution knowing that if I couldn't find anything after a little while then I'd give up and it'd be chucked away. I also thought seeing as DH works 9-5 and usually can't make it to appointments it'd be nice to be at home and have a little listen. If I think something's wrong I wouldn't rely on a £20 piece of kit I bought off the internet!

Feeling a lot better about it this morning after a long sleep and reading your posts (thanks!) Might give hospital a ring about the letter seeing as I didn't get any info yesterday!

How bad is it that you found the vein for your mwife?! seriously that's awful

This thread is so supportive and helpful- what a lovely group :) x
