Hello all,

I just realised I put the 1000'th message on our last thread (uh oh, I think that's the limit), so in my Blush at not realising I'd reached the limit, thought I'd better start a new thread if anyone finds it.

OP posts:

sorry meant to say incapable of going without informing the friend

40Weeks · 10/09/2010 15:16

Happy anniversary girls! Havr fun celebrating. Dont worry about a glass of wine. If anyone has the balls to be so rude and confrint you then just act dumb, 'what are you talking about' and they should shut up with embarrassment in case in fact you arent pregnant but just a bit bloated from the meal!?

I know what you mean about maternity bras being horrendous though, even the hot milk ones come up quite high and how over your maternity tops/breastfeeding tops. Why? Surely a lingerie designer has had a kid before and thought hmmmm maybe these arent as nice as they could be?

40Weeks · 10/09/2010 15:17

Bugger just been caught out on MN by boss!

debka · 10/09/2010 15:25

Wow! You expat, me and Jordan and Peter Andre!!! Unless you are, in fact, Jordan???!!!???

Shaping up to be really crap anniversary- just moved out of my parent's where we've been bumming for a while into rented accommodation, and have absolutely zero money. vvv depressing. Just went food shopping and could afford basically potatoes and carrots. So it's a rather cheerless anniversary this year :( Hope yours is better expat AKA Katie Price...!!!

angels1 · 10/09/2010 15:29

well, in my boredom I've been looking up if there are any other celebs to Lily Allen due in Feb to see if I can out anyone sneaking behind a false pretense here.

Not really many due from what I can google, just mrs rod steward aka Penny Lancaster and Patsy Palmer.

40 wks I have excuse ready for that. Say you had a symptom very concerned just wanted to ask advice! good luck.

Lulabel27 · 10/09/2010 16:06

Hi All
I hope you have a lovely anniversary evening - money or not it doesn't matter, light some candles and just enjoy being together (before life gets turne upside down next year!)

So pleased, a friend of ours has just offered us their Bugaboo Chameleon. Its been used for their 2 daughters so is 4 yrs old but that should save us at least £500! :)

Decided we're going to find out the sex as we're going on honeymoon to Vegas in october and I want to buy some cute clothes out there. I won't tell anyone in RL but will tell you all!

Ledkr - did you get your gym program done? I'm having mine on Tuesday. Went for a run today on treadmill it was tough - I just feel so unfit....

Lulabel27 · 10/09/2010 16:06

Forgot to say scan is MOnday so will know sex monday afternoon!

ledkr · 10/09/2010 16:07

Can you lot please go back and comment on my pushchair post! I'm needing to know what to say.pleeeese

angels1 · 10/09/2010 16:18

ledkr can you fib and say you ordered one already and don't want to lose a deposit? Or thank you very much but we've already accepted one from a friend....or else just accept it and only use it when they come (?). Or make up an excuse as to why theirs won't work for you - it's too heavy to push about or too bulky for the car etc. My mum has threatened me with giving me my pram from when I was a baby - I think it's one of those humungous things and probably very rusty! Luckily she's good and will understand if I say I'd rather a newer ledd musty one!

americanexpat · 10/09/2010 16:26

Didn't Jordan and Peter Andre split? Not been keeping up on the gossip mags but I seem to recall it was a bit ugly. Wish I was as fit as she is but I think I'd topple over with those implants...

debka - so sorry, things are rough when you have money worries. Do something lovely together and forget about money for a while. I was going to suggest a romantic moonlit walk but MN says it's nearly a new moon. Maybe you could take turns shining a torch down? Grin

Lulabel27 · 10/09/2010 16:41

Hi Ledkr sorry I've just read your post at the top of this page and seen you've given up on the gym. Look after yourself and hope your SPD gets better. I've had twinges I just hope it doesn't get worse...

As for the pram, yes just say you've got your heart set on one that has a detachable car seat and pram? Something like that as I'm sure one from 15 yrs ago wouldn't be anything like it!! Sorry I'm not very good with whitty replies like prof!

40Weeks · 10/09/2010 16:54

ledkr thanks for the tip, I will use that! He thought I was on Facebook and I said, no I never use FB at work!? (All horrified at the thought and suchlike)

With pram - would suggest your plan of saying oh thanks but I have my heart set on XYZ one at Mothercare (or wherever) and if they keep pushing it then just stick it in the shed. Once your DH has got siatica from trying to wheel the blessed thing around on its rickety Victorian wheels he will soon be in agreement with you Grin

Very excited for everyone who is having their scan soon - and finding out! Still undecided tho

40Weeks · 10/09/2010 16:58

Ahhh just counted on the calendar and my 20 week scan is at 21 weeks! Grrrrr why call it 20 week scna when its never at 20 weeks!?!?!?! Couldnt work out why I had so long to wait compared to everyone else Sad

tadjennyp · 10/09/2010 17:00

Can you keep the pushchair for spare at PIL's house, that way you don't have to lug one round in the car all the time and PILs aren't offended? It could be perfectly serviceable, but tell them as it's your last one and dh's only, you really wanted to share the experience of choosing a travel system that's perfect for your car/needs etc. ledkr

OK Gina - it's a boy and now I have no idea what to call him as I was convinced it was a girl! DD is getting worse with this death thing: 'will I see you again?' 'The new baby won't die for ages after us, will it be ok?' 'How do you get there?' We will have to stop watching the news as all it contains is death and destruction. Sad

Wanderingsheep · 10/09/2010 17:45

Oh congratulations on your little boy, Tadjennyp! That's wonderful! I find boys names so much harder than girls names.

I'm so jealous of all the 20 week scans happening. Mine seems ages away! 4 weeks off yet. I have my quadruple test on Monday, lucky me!
I'm absolutely knackered today, I could sleep for a week!

Ledkr, have you seen the pushchair? Maybe have a look at it first - you might like it. Otherwise, I second what Angels said and lie about already ordering one etc.

debka · 10/09/2010 18:34

Thanks for sympathy :)
Life already upside down with a 17mo DD- which also precludes moonlit walk!
However the crackling is crackling in the oven (please God!), roasties about to go on (angels!), profiteroles baking (o yes, be impressed!).
Will celebrate being in our own place at last.

Congrats tad, we're hoping for a boy too :)

debka · 10/09/2010 18:38

Yes they did split expat, remember being proud that we'd outlasted them, then slightly stupid of being proud of such a stupid thing!

MissTFied · 10/09/2010 19:05

Big wave to Trojan and Worrymummy. I can seeeeeeeeeeeee youuuuuuuuuuu! (Slighty creepy).

Well Tallulah and Wanderingsheep, I have told the management at work, and all went really well. I am lucky. I am just going to keep it from my colleagues for a little while longer, even though they keep asking me when I'm going to have another.

Have my scan next week, and will tell the families after that! We are not going to find out the gender though, to me, that is the most special moment after all that hard work, to finally find out what 'sort' it is!

I keep feeling pops! I'd sort of forgotten I had something there...

Wanderingsheep · 10/09/2010 19:28

My friend made me feel bad today, for not telling her that I was pg the moment that I'd POAS! She's had a bit of a crap time recently and I only told her when I was 12 weeks. She said that she would have appreciated the good news while she was having such a rough time. She was kind of joking but I still felt bad! I didn't want to tell anyone though, due to a previous mc and to be fair, I did tell her before any of my other friends!

Wanderingsheep · 10/09/2010 19:31

And also half of me didn't want to go on about my happy news while she was having a bad time!

Sorry, rant over!

Debka and Expat, hope you both have lovely anniversaries, although you could have shared the profiteroles around Debka!

ledkr · 10/09/2010 19:42
