Hello all,

I just realised I put the 1000'th message on our last thread (uh oh, I think that's the limit), so in my Blush at not realising I'd reached the limit, thought I'd better start a new thread if anyone finds it.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ledkr · 31/08/2010 16:04

me too angels it was a big un too. I went on and felt deserted as not been on a while as getting dd ready for school on thurs.

ledkr · 31/08/2010 16:06

clerfingers crossed for a girl this time but i know you arent that bothered in will just make a change.I am having my 20 wk scan on 17th and am starting to get scared as they told me at my nt scan it was probably a girl but i know that was very early and could be wrong but i have stupidly set my heart on a pink one cos i have 3 boys already and dd would love a sister,i know i know flame away. I will be fine actually in the end cos will be nice for dh as it will be his only one for sure. Dh hates my boys name Elija but says i can have it if its a boy now.And i will need a new carpet for the nursery as its currently pink.
I have been trying to build up some mat clothes but feel very frumpy and have given up trying to look nice-i am normally dressed to the nines with full make up and good clothes-even went to buy school clothes earlier with no make up on. I think the uggs and tunic or funky dress is a winner for the winter as prof says it hides a multitude.
I ate 4 nectarines in one go earlier. I am sure i will pay for that later but better than being constipated i suppose. Better stay close to home eh?
Lovely to see everyone is feeling ok apart from poor prof. I trained as an rmn prof but they dont teach you much about a.n.d.i will consult my books. Remember tho you have no control over it its not your fault its a chemical thing.

grigglepuff · 31/08/2010 16:15

oh dear me too... I'll copy and paste mine (not that it's massively interesting! Wink )

I'm very jealous of those of you looking pregnant! I am 16 weeks today (stats are one day out but can't be bothered to change them!) and I just look fatter! No real bump at all nothing that says I've got a baby inside me! I'm hoping it'll just appear overnight sometime. Also all of my symptoms have gone with exception of eating all the time and being incredibly tired in the afternoons. Very much looking forward to feeling the baby move but at the moment will settle for a bump of sorts

40weeks If everything is looking hunky dory I'm planning a homebirth - looked into pool hiring yesterday which was very exciting. I think DH is worried about the kerfuffle (sp?) of having it at home but I think it'll be just lovely.

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 31/08/2010 16:16

It wasn't me with the AND, if was knittakid, I think.

40Weeks · 31/08/2010 16:26

Oooh angels just saw the stats and you are local to me!

Grigglepuff, good for you. I certainly preferred the homebirth but its personal choice and some people have a right go at you for it for numerous reasons but fortunately they are a minority. Its not too much of a kerfuffle (thats how I would spell it too) and the midwives are great at helping clear up (and its actually nice for DH because they can be comfortable in their own home rather than bored in the hospital as it can take ages and there is nothing they can do). My DH certainly preferred it. Loves telling people that DS2 was born on the sofa (esp when they are sitting on it!)

angels1 · 31/08/2010 16:31

where abouts are you 40weeks?

OP posts:
ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 31/08/2010 16:32

Would love a homebirth but had a section with DS and a HBAC is outside my personal comfort zone. Not utterly outside the bounds of possibility that I could end up with an unplanned one, though, if this labour is significantly faster than the last one (which wasn't super-quick, but did go from "niggly, probably have ages to go" to "in transition" very rapidly). Would still need to go to hospital afterwards, though, as they'd be concerned about the hypothetical GBS+.

I am in Chelsfield, just up the road angels

40Weeks · 31/08/2010 16:45

Also ladies, what does cpc mean?

40Weeks · 31/08/2010 16:46

I get the gist, but cant work it out exactly

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 31/08/2010 16:52

Chinese Pregnancy Calendar a complete pile of toss-- bit of fun method of "predicting" gender that's about as Chinese as I am (clue: not very).

ILovePonyo · 31/08/2010 17:22

Oh good a new thread! I was lurking before because it was moving too fast for me!

Am going to try very hard to keep up now :)

I have my 2nd midwife appointment this week, really hope I'll get to hear the baby's heartbeat to stop me worrying about things going wrong.

Hello to everyone and congrats to you all too! Grin

angels1 · 31/08/2010 17:26

40weeks yes - just up the road - we are in a village outside Orpington maybe 5 mins away from chelsfield (small world Grin ). There are a couple here from Bromley too.

I've got the biggest bloating ever now - owwww. Wonder what I ate to deserve this Confused .

Got my mw appointment tomorrow. Got a huge list of things I want to check with her - hope she doesn't mind Hmm

Hello ILovePonyo! Congratulations!

RE: maternity tights - I think I will definitely need some. Yesterday's weather was so bad here that they had to shut the summer ski lift operation because of snow! That's at about 6000 or so ft so nearly 3000 ft higher than here but I nearly put the heating on! It's going to be 32C again on Friday though, so weird weather. Grin I am a bit worried that I won't fit into my massive ski coat though as it did get to -25C for a whole week just before Christmas. Luckily the house is well insulated but we did get a bit of cabin fever. I may have to drive over the mountains before the winter really starts to get some shopping in. Hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend.

ILovePonyo · 31/08/2010 17:33

Hello!

Angels I will be waiting with baited breath for a report from your midwife appt tomo! Hope it goes well, I might make a list of things to ask mine so I don't forget Blush

tadjenny, was going to ask where you lived but have just looked on the list and that makes more sense now! Brrr

ElleB1980 · 31/08/2010 18:38

I have just got home from work and had to rip my bra off, I'm being driven absolutely crackers with itchy, achey boobs.
I'm wearing underwired jobs from Bravissimo (I'm a 34G up from a 34EE) which I know are technically banned in pregnancy...so I was wondering if anyone had any top tips? I've bought a couple of non underwired ones from M&S but to be honest I'd be better off going without!
Help?!

angels1 · 31/08/2010 19:20

I'm with you Ellie. I haven't got around to buying any new bras yetv(ordered some online yesterday) and I'm doing well if mine is still done up by mid afternoon. Every day I just have to undo them they get so uncomfy. I'm sitting now with a bra on but undone! Think this is as they are way too small though, and luckily I'm on summer hols - couldn't get away with that if I were out or at work Wink . I can't rememebr the last time I wore non underwired (I'm about a 36F before pg) so shall be interesting to see the difference. Are yours the right size ellie?

Love the new thread title!

Hope you are all well. Sorry to hear you are a bit down knitta thinking of you :)

Very exciting to hear about all of the MW appointments and pending 20 week scans - I've got a few weeks to wait yet, but getting excited for those at the top of the list.

Hope you are all having fun thinking up names and wondering wether your bumps (?) are pink or blue.

Anyone else suffering from heartburn? I've been suffering for days :(

PinkiePoo · 31/08/2010 20:24

grigglepuff i am with you on the non-existant bump!! I just look fat. I have a lovely, beautiful.....spare tyre!! Angry I keep thinking is there something wrong...

Although heard the HB last week at MW apt at 13+3....so fingers crossed little monkey is still ok.

linz you poor thing...heartburn is no fun and i only had it once. Herbal tea apparently is a god send!

Sorry, Tarlia, but I'm going to have to move your EDD back again because as it stands you have overtaken me and that is just Not Acceptable.

My 20 week scan isn't until October 19. That's seven whole weeks away. Boo.

ElleB I'm currently wearing a 34G Hotmilk bra. I have 3 and wouldn't wear anything else now - they are so comfy (and quite pretty too, as maternity/nursing bras go).

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 31/08/2010 20:41

Hotmilk are lovely.

Tarlia · 31/08/2010 20:53

Haha. I know, a whole day! I'm going to race you to the finish line ;)

Annoying that your scan is so far off, PLimLS. Mine is on October 7th.

Hmm, I've not got new bras yet either, but am still fine in the old ones. Is underwire really that bad?
