Aww congrats Cazzy xxx Lovely name!! So happy for you, can't wait to see pics!

re this leucs+ thing - I have no stinging, dragging sensations or anything so I reckon its a quirk - just wish they'd mentioned it to me and not just written it in the notes without saying anything!!

Off out to lunch with my mum and dad (although they seem to think I should be laid in bed wrapped in cotton wool and not venturing out anywhere at all!)

pamplem0usse · 05/08/2010 11:35

Beautiful name Cazzy!
Please god let me be next.... I had a mini-meltdown with DH yesterday (although he seems to be being alot more sympathetic now!).
Vix it's a pain isn't it; I think alot of the time they just can't be arsed to explain (and unfortunately I suspect they get a fair few M2B who either don't pick up on it/don't really give one.... But hopefully you can be a little reassured and enjoy your lunch out!
xx

congratulations Cazzy!! what a lovely name, I love poppies

Just been for my 36 wk appointment and all is well with baby, still head down and no sign of being back to back - which for some reason was worrying me, good baby! Bit frustrating as they asked me to go up to hospital -again! to have my appointment as they wanted to check out my anaesthetic allergy situation again, this is the 3rd time I've been there about it and I still had to explain myself all over again! They were going to have to get me back again to see the anaesthetist whom I was supposed to see today but they have decided now they have tracked down my patch test results that they don't need me in and will just assess when I am in labour - great so now I have no idea what is happening! I'm not bothered really as I don't want to risk having anything if my labour is going well that might cause a reaction but my only concern is that if I need a section I don't know wether they have to put me under or if there is another way not very reassuring!! Anyways I will just try and not think about things going wrong, all will be well!!

Sorry for the rant...

vix hope your mind is at rest now, it's terrible having all this worry, I seem to find new things to worry about each day.

emster those sound like mammoth feeding sessions! what a hungry little boy you have.

I am super impressed with how many bfeeding troopers we have on this thread - you should be very proud girls

alice glad you got checked out and all sounds well hope your feeling better about things now.

dogwalker ouch that doesn't sound nice, hope your pain is easing a bit, i got some sharp pains today and randomly some stitch type pains this morning, but seem to have gone now.

Sorry to hear some of your problems with midwifes. I'm the same as vita my midwife is lovely, very supportive and understanding. I even had a lovely midwife today at the hospital and the last couple i've had have been horrors, hope she's around when I go!

Anyways back to painting the nursery, takes AGES when you have to rest every 5 minutes. Painting apple green and washing day cream, looks dead pretty

love and best wishes to all xxx

foxyjbro99 · 05/08/2010 13:00

Congrats caz! is this your 4th girl?
I've still got over 3 weeks left and these school holidays are killing me! x

Nikalah · 05/08/2010 13:20

Congratulations Cazzy you're birth sounds what I would describe as perfect. Really hope mine is similar.

Pamplemouse get back in line.... please me next!!!

pamplem0usse · 05/08/2010 13:32

MrsZac sorry to hear about the frustrating appointment....
Nikalah my bump now measures at least 42cm.... can I not be next just on the basis of my ginormous size?!!

mrsZaC · 05/08/2010 13:37

now now girls, no need to fight, I think you should go at the same time

thecoffeelady · 05/08/2010 13:52

Afternoon Ladies,

Congrats to cazzy, Poppy looks beautiful.

I have been a busy bee baking today. Having lunch with my lovely NCT08 ladies tomorrow so I have made Grasshopper Cupcakes and Vanilla & Strawberry Cupcakes. I shall leave the spare ones on the cake table as I seem to have a house full of cakes!

I have had acupuncture twice this week to try and encourage this baby to get a move on but at the moment it would appear that it is quite happy where it is. Baby feels low but doesn't want to get in to launch position. DD didn't engage until I had started to dilate so I am not going to hold my breath. The only thing worrying me is that this baby is still back to back having turned at 36 weeks that and the fact that as we are both self employed if baby does decide to arrive as late as DD we have hardly any time off after the baby arrives. Still on a positive note I had my first full night sleep (not even getting up for a wee) for 23 weeks last night!

USMum27 · 05/08/2010 14:12

Congrats cazzy and such a lovely name! I'm glad everything went well and so quickly too!

A stupid first-timer question: I think my LO has dropped as I can suddenly breathe much better, eat more, and have much more of a pregnancy waddle - does this mean I will be going soon? I know all the books say it doesn't mean anything, but what is everyone else's experience?? I am desperate to get this baby out; however, I'm busy this weekend and it would be lovely if she would come next week!

thedogwalker · 05/08/2010 14:15

Pample there is a queue......

I am desperate to be soon, pelvic pain ensuring that I'm not a happy bunny

Nikalah yes you can go next as you are infront of me, but hurry up and pass on the baton

Oh and yes Coffeelady can I have one (or lots and lots) of your cupcakes they sound delicious, (yum yum emoticon)

thedogwalker · 05/08/2010 14:18

USmum my LO dropped to 3/5 engaged over 3 weeks ago and he still hasn't come. Think he has moved further south yesterday as I now have intense pevic pain, but still no sign of labour starting, sorry to be bearer of bad news. I think it is the luck of the Gods

Alicetheinvisible · 05/08/2010 15:46

Get in line ladies......I want no one else queue jumping until after monday then you can fight amongst yourselves

Congrats Cazzy beautiful name. Don't know who you are on FB. Saw a family with 3 girls going in to visit their mum yesterday afternoon, could have been yours!

sparkle101 · 05/08/2010 17:41

Good afternoon ladies, I have been shopping today and got some bargains if any of you has still got stuff left to buy....

Asda's baby event is coming to an end and they have reduced most of their bits and bobs by up to half price - including boxes of pampers for £6 for 144 (midi) and bigger sizes too. 6 pack of johnson's wipes for £2.50. All their tommee tippee stuff reduced (bottles, sterilisers, breast pumps etc).

Tesco have got value nappy sacks 100 pack for the grand price of 4p (not a typo) think they ballsed up as the 300 pack is 60p

Seem to have spent the day shopping when I should be packing my hospital bag..... oops.

vix206 · 05/08/2010 18:52

Feeling a bit down as doctors surgery just rang to say my iron levels are a bit low so I need to go and pick up a prescription and start taking iron tablets ASAP. I'm hoping the homebirth is still going to be okay, I'm hoping when she says a 'bit' low it is just a bit!

girlsyearapart · 05/08/2010 18:54

congrats cazzy lovely name and very speedy birth

Chulita · 05/08/2010 19:14

vix iron pills sort it out quite quickly, just be sure to drink plenty of water and eat lots of fruit with them cos they can really clog you up! My iron's at 8.5 but I've stopped the iron cos I really need to poo the joys of childbearing!!

congrats cazzy, hope all 6 of you settle in together quickly

thecoffeelady I'll have a couple of those cakes, I let myself have 2 weeks of crappy eating after giving birth before starting healthy eating - got 2 stone to shift...but it can wait

who's next ladies?

Nikalah · 05/08/2010 19:33

Pample 42cm?!! After you!

vitapulchra · 05/08/2010 19:46

Have any of you anaemic ladies tried Spatone instead of tablets? I've used it each pg as I've become anaemic from 28 wks onward every time and it's never caused me constipation. Most iron tablets are made from ferrous sulphate which can be highly constipating and hard on your digestion. You can get it at Boots or most other chemists and as it's a liquid just empty the sachet into a bit of orange juice and you can't taste it then (do NOT try it straight!) I know I sound like an advert but I swear by this stuff. And Chulita, I don't know how you stand up straight with a level of 8.5!!!! I was nearly comatose after DS1 when my level fell near there.

OP posts:
pamplem0usse · 05/08/2010 20:48

Vita I've tried Spatone and apparently it's fine if you take it from the start but for most people it won't be enough of a boost if you're already quite anaemic. That said, the iron tablets completely floored me with constipation so I gave up and am doing Spatone on the basis that it's better than nowt!

Chulita · 05/08/2010 20:49

I think I'll try the Spatone, ferrous sulphate is evil! vita I felt awful when my levels dropped from 14 to 11 when I was about 30 wks but now I'm 8.5 and I feel fine...very odd!

neenz · 05/08/2010 20:55

Vix, when MW took my blood to check iron levels I asked if it would mean no homebirth if iron was low... she said no you'd just need to take tablets to get it back up.

So your hb should be fine!

Alice, your AIBU is so typical - you can't make a comment about bad behaviour (adults and kids) on MN without someone saying 'perhaps they have mental health issues/special needs'

Alicetheinvisible · 05/08/2010 21:17

I second the spatone. When i was pg with DD i broke my leg then lost a lot of blood in surgery getting it fixed and they were contemplating a transfusion. I couldn't keep iron pills down (possibly the combination of painkillers and iron) and tried spatone and it really helped. I still take it now (even when not pg) especially if feeling a bit low, have had a bad diet etc. It is usually on 3 for 2 at Boots too.

Pample we probably have the same size bump then

Right, bath and bed (in my lovely Cath Kidston bedding)

Night

Alicetheinvisible · 05/08/2010 21:22

Sorry, was on the phone while typing so very slow and lots of x posts!

Neenz i know! I was telling my mum about it, and she said "Well, your brother may not be perfect (ASD) but if he ever stole anything he would get the same treatment as any of you would" which did make me giggle, but not something you could repeat! TBH, the only special circumstance of that bloke was that he was off his face!

Spatone you can take two doses a day while pg or anemic.
