gya - hope you enjoyed your movie night - i persuaded DH to watch Jane Austen's Book Club with me tonight, lol, def not his cup of tea. And I had a packet of black forest gateau cookies from M&S too - mmmm

Good luck for tomorrow weehector!

What atretch mark creams are you using pample? I've been using bio and another one from little me organics and i'm covered in the bloody marks - it's like raspberry ripple!! ack!!

Had visit from a friend today who I haven't seem in a few weeks, lovely and sunny and had a coffee with my mum and sis this morning which was all very nice.

Unfortunately the SPD thing has got really bad and about an hour ago I fell down the stairs Shock I landed on my ass and I've really hurt my tail bone and jarred my pelvis just that extra bit, which I could really have done without Sad

LO is still kicking away and, like I said, I fell on my ass and was rescued straight away by DH so I'm pretty sure there's no need to go to hospital but I was just going to ride out the SPD and hope it went away after LO arrived but now I'm thinking I'm going to phone and try and get a priority physio referral tomorrow - I could still have a fortnight of being pregnant to go and now I'm afraid to go up the stairs when I'm on my own in the house, which is hardly ideal when DH is at work all day and the loo is upstairs!!

thecoffeelady · 15/08/2010 21:59

I am still waiting! I have been here for 3 days and I still have not got a baby

I am the only one on my ward now, all the the other ladies have gone to CDS. When you are jealous because someone is in pain you know you are desperate.

I had 2 lots of prostin gel today and nothing major is going on. I am getting a few irregular low pelvic tightenings but that is all. I will probably get an early night in case I wake up with proper cx.

I have to see the consultant tomorrow morning as the MW can only do 2 doses of the gel. I am hoping that my crappy stubborn cervix is soft and open enough for them to break my waters with the old crochet hook, or it's either 24 hours rest and start it all again, I get sent home for 3 days or a c sec. Quite frankly all pretty shitty options!

Sorry to be so moany but I am thoroughly fed up now. I miss DD and DP I want to be in my home and not in Hosp.

I am going to go to bed and think positive cervix ripening thoughts and as if by magic in the morning I shall be all soft and open where it counts!

Congrats to everyone who has had a baby since Friday, anyone who is overdue I feel your pain Nd to those of you who are waiting for your due date to arrive, I am thinking of you.

Alicetheinvisible · 15/08/2010 22:04

littlemiss ouch! Poor you Sad

Weehector good luck tomorrow. I said to DH earlier that i never pictured myself going this far over, pre-op appointment tomorrow Confused

Pample not long.

Still getting tightenings, and lots of pressure downwards but don't think i will get the vbac, mixed feelings about that tbh.

Night ladies, fingers crossed for a productive night!

pamplem0usse · 15/08/2010 22:06

Little Miss glad it isn't just me. I've tried bio oil, various expensive Neals Yards stuff, some Mother to be Stuff from Boots, etc... despite religiously applying these ointments several times a day I look a bloody mess. I can't stand the smell of Bio Oil unfortunately.... Beauty Bay sells lots of creams that are supposed to undo some of the damage but I don't think I'll be getting the £70 or the £140 ones. I'd rather buy a nice top to cover them up. Or cammoflage makeup.
Sorry for the whinge!! I don't mind that much really, but we've just booked a family holiday for next June so it would be good to be vaguely bikini ready by then!

Alicetheinvisible · 15/08/2010 22:07

Mine look like a map of the underground, but actually faded very quickly.

thecoffeelady · 15/08/2010 22:11

My waters have just popped!

pamplem0usse · 15/08/2010 22:26

Yay thecoffeelady good luck!!!
Alice I fear mine won't, I've some lovely ones on my boobs from erm a teenager growth spurt. Good luck with your appointment tomorrow (though I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things kick off for you in the night ;)
xxxx

bouncingblueberries · 16/08/2010 04:18

Any more babies yet? Grin

Good luck coffee!

weehector really hope things have kicked off naturally for you.

How's everyone else doing? How are my fellow thrush sufferers? It was really getting me down yesterday, I'm sick of feeling in pain and not even being able to cuddle my boys properly because my nipples are so sensitive. But we can't let this beat us girls! Even if it does mean imitating sugar from my dirt [gasp! No daity milk?!?]

AnnaAndBump · 16/08/2010 06:05

Hello all, well I finally had my baby on August 11th at 17:40 weighing in at 7 pounds 11. I did try and post the night she was born but the mumsnet server was down for maintenance - typical eh, and I don't feel as if I have had a moment to myself since!. She is still to be named, the OH and I just can't seem to find the right name although we did have names picked out previously!!

Thank you for all of your kind words and advice on induction - I have quiet a birth story and will come back and post when I have a bit more time! The main thing is that she is here now and healthy and happy though!

I haven't read through any posts at all so congratulations to anyone that has recently given birth and my heart goes out to those still waiting every day feels like forever when you are waiting for your precious bundle to arrive!

LittleMissSnowShine · 16/08/2010 07:12

Congrats Anna!

And good luck coffee! Woo hoo, glad your waters have gone, only a matter of time now til you have LO in your arms Grin

Thanks Alice, I'm really bruised and stiff and sore today!! Which is probably how you're supposed to feel after giving birth, not before Hmm Fingers crossed I can see a physio this week, maybe... Hope you do get the VBAC you wanted but hope your appointment goes well today whatever the outcome

pample - I got stretch marks before when I was a teenager and I found they just faded away in a few months, I'm sure you will be bikini ready by next summer :) In the meantime I think I'm going to buy some Yummie Tummie camisoles and hope for the best!

thedogwalker · 16/08/2010 07:40

Coffee sending you lots of softening vibes, I will be sending you good luck vibes all day Grin

I am now 40+1 and I never thought I would get to this. My LO has been in position since 35 weeks and I was convinced he was going to come early. I've had 4 days of cx and then yestderday....nothing Confused, I feel like I'm going backwards!!!!

Now I've got to go through the same as Nichy, Hospital appointments every other day, to monitor the baby, my first one is today at 1230 hrs, Hmm, don't know exactly what that will achieve.

Congratulations Anna

Wishing everyone a great Monday and lots of labour vibes to those of us still waiting.

babyducky · 16/08/2010 07:56

Congrats coffeelady! Just seen your fb status!!!

Congrats Anna aswell.

I haven't got any stretch marks this time, I've been using bio oil & cocoa butter, I got lots with ds but they have nearly completed faded now.

Have a good day everyone, hopefully be a few more babies soon (mine included!)

Chulita · 16/08/2010 09:01

Good luck coffeelady, hope things pick up!

alice do you still want a vbac or are you geting to the point where you don't care as long as your LO's here? Not easy hanging around waiting!

blueberries I nearly gave up yesterday too, DH took Sam from 10pm til about 2am so I could sleep, it was fantastic and proves (again) that he doesn't need feeding every 1.5-2 hours - try telling him that though lol! I'm still on probiotics, GSE and Daktaring and trying to avoid going back to GPs to beg for another load of Fluconazole. I'm also trying to cut sugar, yeast and dairy out of my diet for a week although I'm a bit unsure as to what that actually leaves me able to eat! Miserable :(

Sam has decided not to sleep at the mo, yesterday he slept a grand total of 2.5 hours all day. He finally slept from 11pm til 2 then was up every hour after that. He only wants to be cuddled or he screams. I've been holding him since half 6 and just put him down to go and pee and he started screaming so thought while he was at it I'd just hop on here and write something. I can't believe he won't shut down..I tried everything yesterday but he just won't sleep. Any suggestions?

Nikalah · 16/08/2010 09:04

Morning!! Get me on the arrived list!!

My beautiful daughter, Amira, arrived 2248 on Friday 13th August. We arrived at the hospital... (a 50 min car journey!!) at 4.30. A room with a pool was avail from 6.30, so ditched the TENS, hopped in the pool, topped up with gas & air, (it would have been a brave person prising that out of my hands!), a few hours of expletives and writhing around and my gorgeous daughter shot out of me in the pool. Unfortunately still managed to suffer a 2nd degree tear and a couple of other nicks, so was whisked up to theatre for a spinal block & repair.
Day 3 & surprisingly feeling good. Care at hosp amazing. Lots of probs b/feeding, nipples etc. But hopefully sorting out.
Will catch up properly when I get home as iPhone is limited. Best wishes

thedogwalker · 16/08/2010 09:10

Congratulations Nikalah, so happy for you.

vix206 · 16/08/2010 09:18

Huge congrats to coffeelady and nikalah! It's my due date today but I'm pretty sure it will pass with no real excitement to be honest x

marzipananimal · 16/08/2010 09:20

congratulations nikalah, what a beautiful name!

Congratlations to anna too and anyone i've missed. Hope you can agree on a name soon!

Good luck to everyone who is imminent x

babyducky · 16/08/2010 09:35

Congrats nikalah, gorgeous name, love it!

Chulita · 16/08/2010 09:48

Congrats nikalah! Hope bf'ing gets settled soon :) Envy of your birth pool experience!

USMum27 · 16/08/2010 10:18

Many congrats to nikalah, coffeelady, and anna!

I am in the same boat as many of you (though not yet overdue) and think every twinge is the start of labour. Unfortunately, I've voiced these thoughts to my husband so how much do you bet that when I do go into labour he won't believe me!

Hope all the twinges start something today, especially for you weehector. We're ready for the next wave of babies!

vix206 · 16/08/2010 10:21

Fab headline just for my due date - study shows homebirths triple risk of baby dying. Feel really great now, not!!!!

Although I do think it's a load of rubbish, just couldn't done without that helpful little snippet from the BBC today.

vix206 · 16/08/2010 10:22

IPhone strikes again, I meant I couldve done without that helpful snippet....

JamieJay · 16/08/2010 10:32

Just popping on quickly to congratulate nikalah, coffeelady and anna. Sorry if I've missed anyone.

Hope those of you still waiting get some action soon Smile

soontobefatnat · 16/08/2010 11:11

Sending my congrats to nikalah, coffeelady, and anna as well!

Vix - just had a look on the BBC website. Where did you hear/see that study talked about? I'm going for a homebirth too. Dunno, sounds totally dubious to me. If the study wasn't UK-based, it's meaningless for us. In America, homebirths are overseen by midwives totally independent of hospitals, they're often 100s of miles away from the nearest hospital, etc, etc. Very different set up, but we often hear the results of US studies... Would be interested to read though.

Nothing interesting to report here. Some shooting pains in the nether regions and some tightenings here and there, but nothing that really feels like a proper contraction. Guess I shouldn't be impatient yet as I'm only 38+5 and there are some poor ladies on here (am looking at you hector) who deserve to pop way before me. Can't help being a bit bored and fed up though...

vix206 · 16/08/2010 11:12

The study was a total farce, it wasn't UK based and it was just a regurgitation of an old story that broke months ago. So just a load of scaremongering! My hormones are at an all time high today and it just pushed all the wrong buttons for me!
