the mane game? Sounds interesting...

Muser · 25/08/2010 21:21

Florence will always remind me of The Magic Roundabout.

I have just booked myself onto a pregnancy pilates course. Looking forward to it. I have tried pilates before and was a bit rubbish, but the woman I've booked with comes highly recommended.

Today the hormones mean I cry every time someone sponsors me for the 5k I am running next week. I also cry when I think about running it, but that's not hormones. That's the knowledge that I haven't run 5k, or for more than 10 minutes on one occasion, since I got updiffed.

OkieCokie · 25/08/2010 21:31

The mane game is quality, better than the name game.

Muser run?? Won't someone think of the children??? The only place I run is to to loo and that is more like a brisk walk.

rollerbaby · 25/08/2010 21:33

My dog has fleas. Fuck fuck fuck fuck.

He is NOT sleeping on the bed tonight!

Muser · 25/08/2010 21:34

I'm not going to emulate Paula Radcliffe. I can probably walk faster than I can run! But a little plodding along is good.

OkieCokie · 25/08/2010 21:39

Can dogs use frontline?

OkieCokie · 25/08/2010 21:40

Well I think you are very brave muse.

Backinthebox · 25/08/2010 21:42

If I mention something like 'I'm just running out to feed the horses,' DD says very sweetly 'you can't run Mummy - you have a baaaaaybee in your tummy!' I have been telling her the baby is nearly ready to come out now, and it is making me very tired. Tonight, unprompted, she came over and put her blanket over me and tucked me in. I asked her why she had tucked me in, and she said 'because you are tired, Mummy. Because you have a baby in your tummy and he is VERY BIG now!' Ah, she is so lovely. Of course, by this point I had forgotten she had wee'd on the floor under the osteopath's desk earlier on.... Hmm

SilverSky · 25/08/2010 22:47

box now that is funny! I chortled out loud at that.

I am so happy not to have to go to work til next Wednesday.

So much to do so little time. Bags to pack, wardrobes to sort!

Him Indoors has bought the baybee His/Her first football kit. Heaven help me. It's his fave team too. I have already told him this will not be a coming home outfit.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 26/08/2010 06:29

medee Are you an English graduate? I very much admire your vocabulary and you must belong to the Plain English society.

Nipple pads? I found the easiest disposables to use were the cheapies with no backing tape as I could push them in to place. Taped ones didn't give a smooth silhouette.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 26/08/2010 07:04

cossie I am so excited for you - you'll get to meet your little person very soon! I can't wait until Bear is a little older and we can get a seat on the back of my bike - we want to go on family cycling trips. :)

VAG, skater - are you two doing anything uterine-like?

CluckyKate · 26/08/2010 09:18

When you nipples are down by your waist a smooth silhouette is not an issue Smile

Sorry Box - you don't sound yourself at the moment Sad so thought you might need a gentle kick up the bum. Perhaps some gentle off-roading is called for....is there any autumn hunting round here yet???

I've never understood the appeal of running so think you're completely bonkers Muse Confused - good luck tho Smile

rollerbaby · 26/08/2010 09:27

I am in the midst of a decontamination programme. This involves washing and hoovering everyone and everything. okie we do use frontline - in fact I think I only left it 5 weeks since last one so fuck knows what happened. I can only assume summer=loads of fleas. I don't think we have mass infestation but I have had a few tiny bites this week so don't want to risk any more. Last night was a major standoff with him jumping on the bed every 2 hours. Normally we let him stay but now with flea gate and 9.5 weeks to go - no way jose. So have't had alot of sleep unsurprisingly.

muse I think you are mad/brave/fitter than me! In the early days I nearly passed out every time I walked to Greggs. I WILL sponsor you I promise.

box your little girl sounds so lovely. Apart from the randomly located weeing and pooing. Do you ever read her My Naughty Little Sister? Gorgeous book and illustrations. This was my favourite ever book when I was her age and it sounds just like her! I used to listen to it on a 33 inch record with Felicity Kendall narrating 30 years ago... I've bought it for Wee Moo - it WILL be his favourite book... Although not if Mr Moo gets in there first with TinTin and Dr Who.

Need to start packing today for our week long deluge on the south coast. So much for British summertime. Oh well. Indoor boules and reading it is. I can't even get pissed. Friend has just put up holiday pictures from S of France. Witch. I'm supposed to be in charge of food. Have made a long list with everyone's input but done absolutely nothing about it. Hardly BBQ weather though.

Moan moan. Off to see friends ickle baby today who is only 2 weeks. Cue tears no doubt. Can't wait.

Cosmosis · 26/08/2010 09:35

Pah, not that soon ski still nothing doing! getting v impatient now.

box that is so cute re your dd. Not the weeing!

honey I used to have those on tape, I loved them!

No hunting yet. Absolutely nothing at all coming out of my old (ex) lot. See here and here , hunting gals, for a heads up. First available opportunity is to follow a bit of hound exercise with bloodhounds from your yard, Clucky. I have also joined 2 other hunt supporter's clubs further west (V&C and OBH. Again this is code for the horsey ones! Non-horsey gals don't worry about it!) Hopefully they have fully-functioning clubs, unlike ours which was shut down with not so much as a bye-bye.

Moo never heard of My Naughty Little Sister. Does it give children hints on how to be naughty? Hmm Maybe not at the moment!

We are off for a nice walk today - about 200 yards should do it Grin. Then have MW tonight for 'active birth' session with OH. Apparently that should be a workout enough for me. Hopefully she will tell me that baybee is heading downwards even further. Yesterday's vist to the osteo was goo - she reckons my body feels like it is getting ready now, especially round the hips area. Also had reflex lady who said I had lots of energy in my hormonal system. Which was news to me as I have no energy anywhere else!

BTW Clucky can't be arsed to go to the gig on Sat, so if you want a babysitter, drop her off round ours. One more child will just add to the general chaos this weekend! You can video OH for me so I get the full sound effects without having to go Grin

Backinthebox · 26/08/2010 09:47

GOOD visit, not goo. FFS!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 26/08/2010 10:15

Ski! Nope, nothing uterine going on in these parts but then I am only 36+4 so have aaaaaages left to finish prep etc

SilverSky · 26/08/2010 10:18

I did wonder what a goo visit might entail but didn't like to ask!!!!

OBH has good rep me thinks.

Bloody weather is doing my frigging nut in. Today my hoss will mainly be cooked as made poor rug choice. C'est la vie.

Have booked in for a pedicure and Him Indoors said to have a facial too. I will be bootiful for the birth!

Anyone else finding that when the baybee moves it can be painful ? feels like he or she is crossing it's legs and dragging it's heels or sharp toenails across my insides. Let's not even mention the sudden need to bloody pee without warning. Clearly my bladder is being used as a cushion.

This weekend I shall be hitting Primarni for my nighties. Will try and avoid virginal White. Ta for tips!

SilverSky · 26/08/2010 10:31

Meant to ask - facials! If I can't lay flat on my back how can it be done??

Cosmosis · 26/08/2010 10:53

yes, can be v painful!!

they shoudl be able to prop the bed up a bit (like a hospital bed kind of thing) so you're slightly upright, that's what they did at my spa day

OP posts:
FannyPriceless · 26/08/2010 11:20

There must be something wrong with me as it was never painful or dizzy lying flat on my back. In fact that's how I slept through the pg as lying on my side was extremely painful. Obv I have a weird body.

MrP just got an iPad. I think he's more excited about this than about his first born son.Hmm I was in the ensuite this morning and could hear him saying 'Wow! Oh, fantastic!' as he played with it. He was desperate to show me something and only my very loud protest of 'I am doing a POO!' stopped him from coming in.Shock I am, of course, unaffected by such technological whizziness.

box Sounds very stinky indeed. I'm going to need a steer in the right direction when we move further south, as it's so hard to know who's a nice crowd and who's full of mental infighting politics (of which plenty around here).

SkiHorseWonAWean · 26/08/2010 11:42

CluckyKate - Freya or CurvyKate will ensure that your nips point skywards - no matter what time or gravity have done to them! Wink

36+5.

silver Should have a dentist like chair as cossie says, I also founded I needed to have my knees up. Like fanny, never felt dizzy but it did hurt my back late in the pregnancy. Tummy comfiest for me! Grin

cossie Did your midwife say anything about how far they're going to let you go over and what they intend to do if Artie is reluctant to make an appearance?

I want Bear to go to Pony Club.

OkieCokie · 26/08/2010 11:45

Anyone else suffering from indesgestion? 3 nights in a row now for me and never have been a sufferer before.

FannyPriceless · 26/08/2010 11:51

ski Obv I will not in any way push Bonnie or Clyde to go to Pony Club against their wishes. But am currently arranging a pony riding extravaganza for Bonnie's 2nd birthday.Grin

SkiHorseWonAWean · 26/08/2010 11:55

fanny You will push them in to PC because once a year they'll go to camp and your only obligation will be doing the dishes one lunchtime. Free childcare for a week! Wink
