Hello Cas!! All this talk of bleeding and the like reminds me of drying my fanjo with hairdryer after shower/bath in the early weeks as it was all a bit sore "down there" to use a towel. TMI??

CluckyKate · 25/08/2010 12:29

I'm with okes on the breast pads - Lansinoh ones were ace.

Everyone seems different on maternity pads - I bought a 20 pack from MC thinking they would last & sent MrCK out for more after 1 day. Was using 3 at a time for first few days - was like walking round with a duvet between my legs. Dropped down to 1 v. quickly but always doubled-up on outings in the first few weeks as I found walking caused much blobbage & gushing. Switched to standard pads once stitches healed as they kept catching on the dry-weave top sheet . Mattress also got through unscathed - didn't think to buy pads but prob a good idea.

Was advised by my sister to only bring cheapie nighties to hosp so could throw in the bin once the gory bit was out of the way.

Hope that's helpful Grin

rollerbaby · 25/08/2010 12:41

I thought it was life threateningly dangerous to blow air up yer nonny? Shock God I still can't believe I'll be lying on the dog pads. ;)

Bit miffed today. Typically my out of town friends are now being awkward about the non-babyshower get together planned in 2 months time. FFS. We see each other 2-3 times a year max. I've asked them MONTHS in advance and despite having confirmed date in the diary someone else's christening is now causing problem. This in itself is fair enough, but now one of the others is hinting that they would rather catch up when they can all do it - i.e. not come. It was exactly the same with my hen night last year and various other times. I end up feeling like they're somehow doing me a favour... Don't know whether I am being sensitive or it is a bit shit. It makes me cross because they have 2 kids each and I guess the first timer excitement isn't relevant for them anymore. I don't know why I am so bothered really. Sometimes I wonder why I put myself through it when it's always such a stress/effort.

"working from home" today. I.e. cuddling the dog and nagging husbo.

rollerbaby · 25/08/2010 12:44

Sorry for self indulgent post. okie hope mini okie ok soon. Horrible to think it could be down to jabs.

How many boobie pads do you get through clucky? Bought 2 boxes of 60 lanisol ones...

Backinthebox · 25/08/2010 12:59

I went through packets and packets of breast pads, but only 3 maternity pads. Yes you read that right - not 3 packets or anything, just 3 pads, full stop. Oh the advantages of being fulling hoovered out in the operating theatre!

Right, need to get on with stuff today - starting with phoning all the people who keep on texting me with 'little jobs' for me to do for them! No, I don NOT want to drive to either Marlborough or Thame because they are a bit busy to come to me and I am sitting around doing nothing! I particularly do not want to be driving round to these places on my due date with DD in the back of the car and a horse in the trailer on the back!

And as for the suggestion that I might want to go for a day out this weekend and walk round a maze - yes, A MAZE! - I can just see my waters going right in the middle of it Confused

I am sitting right here and people can come and visit and bring me chocolate.

Backinthebox · 25/08/2010 13:00

Gah, fully hoovered. See? I told you I had lost the ability to type.

rollerbaby · 25/08/2010 13:20

Am I damaging my baby if we have scampi and chips for lunch with only peas?

rollerbaby · 25/08/2010 13:22

Also. How the hell am I meant to tell the position? Spending time each evening on the ball and also have done some hanging upside down off sofa a la spinning babies. However, no idea if this is helping or necessary at 30 weeks. Getting full on pressure/kicks at top of bump and right now pressure under my ribs. Surely more violent kicks are feet? Or maybe head popping out? Any clues second timers?

Cosmosis · 25/08/2010 13:23

bound to be honey but go for it!

OkieCokie · 25/08/2010 13:24

Moo I was not actually directing the heat up there, just generally wafting to dry off!

I would either tell them all to piss off

rollerbaby · 25/08/2010 13:30

cosmosis wot are you doing on here and why are you not pushing out your baby? Grin You feeling ok? What did MW say?

okie you iz of course right. You are much more rationale and balanced individual than I. I get the hump cos I feel like I always make effort with them and don't get it back. Mr Moo gets cross with me but iz what I am like.

Grown out of month old bras. Seriously do not buy bras that fit - buy fucking huge ones. Really annoying and expensive.

Cosmosis · 25/08/2010 13:40

midwife said baby v low, could be any day now. period pains probably cervix starting to prepare apparently. All ok in terms of BP, urine etc.

OkieCokie · 25/08/2010 14:03

I have no idea on baby positioning moo. Last time I had a consultant appt (last week) she baby was traverse and the head was down facing hip and the legs were up pointing to boobs - how the fuck did she know? What she did say though is that there is still plenty of space to tumble about so in 10 minutes time it could have done a somersault.

I just had to walk out of H&M as I thought I was going to faint. Now eating my lunch and feel much better. Clearly a skinny ginger muffin from starbucks is not a substantial enough breakfast to tide me through to a late lunch..

rollerbaby · 25/08/2010 14:06

Horrible feeling that. I plan my day around food :)

Yes probably a bit early to worry which way up he is. Btw are you due another scan after this point? I don't think I am unless they are worried about something, but I would like one in a month or so just to see where hes at.

OkieCokie · 25/08/2010 14:12

I am going for a foetal development one at 32 weeks. It is not necessary but since I don't have to pay for it I may as well. Maybe they can give me an indication of how big he/she will be. Last time he was 7 lbs 12 but I have a friend who had a 7lb 14 first time and then a 9lb 3oz second time... I don't believe the bollocks about the weight/size of the baby not mattering in the grand scheme of things, surely it must!?!

Weren?t you having one of these fancy 3/4 D ones (are they 3D or 4D??)

rollerbaby · 25/08/2010 14:17

No mr moo is a tight arse and says we are going to meet him in 2 months and it is a bit daft.

I think boo hiss.

He doesn't know about the manuka baby purchases yesterday either. I love those buzzy bees.

rollerbaby · 25/08/2010 14:18

I think foetal development one is a very good idea. I'd like to go back to the wellness centre again, so might float the idea with him. Cheaper than 4d too. Are you going for one of those?

OkieCokie · 25/08/2010 14:20

Nope to 4d one. I want it all to be a surprise. What manuka purchases?

rollerbaby · 25/08/2010 14:47

www.manukababy.co.uk/index.html

It is stupidly expensive but lovely. Got 2 gowns and a baby gro/hat/bootees for best. I reasoned that the newborn size is big and lasts til 3 months. Bob and Blossom stuff arrived and that came up big too which is good.

It's my birthday next week and can't think of a single thing I want! It's all baby stuff. That is bad. Mr Moo only wants me to think of stuff he can order on amazon next day delivery. Romantic huh.

laurielou · 25/08/2010 14:49

Hello all. Just dropping in this ridonkulously hot curry for coss.

Cosmosis · 25/08/2010 16:32

Oooh thanks Laurie, most kind of you!

CluckyKate · 25/08/2010 17:06

Box - do you want this baby out or not???? Beaching yourself on the sofa scoffing chocolate is not the way to get things moving. Get thee to the maze NOW!!!

I too used tonnes of Breast Pads - had to change both with every feed, one cos boob was full & leaking and other cos body couldn't work out which boob was in use so spurted from both whenever little chick was feeding Shock

Backinthebox · 25/08/2010 18:21

Clucky, love you dearly, but bog off. Have had a very productive visit to the osteo today. And frankly DD gives me enough exercise. Brain has shut down now. Not much else to type.

Medee · 25/08/2010 20:36

I hope nobpdy had Florence on their putative girls' names list.

OkieCokie · 25/08/2010 21:08

Nope, not on my list. In fact I only have one girl name picked out and struggling with boys names too. Plan to try and pin the other half down to play "the mane game" while we are on hols.
