1, he'd struggle with any bigger. They supposedly do a vari-flow teat that bf babies get on better with cos they can varying the amount they get but we've not tried them.

DesperateHousewife21 · 20/09/2010 17:16

I second the TT bottle, Dylan gets on very well with it, has had no trouble switching between bottle and boob.

Hes been so fussy today, crying, not letting me put him down, falling asleep then waking after 10 mins, he doesnt sleep all night though so its not v fair!

Chulita · 20/09/2010 17:26

dh it's catching! sam's the same today and dd's fed up with it...not easy cooking risotto one handed

viksam · 20/09/2010 17:33

Hi,
Gosh this thread has moved on quickly, its taken me almost a whole day to catch up in between dealing with my very tired baby who WONT SLEEP!! what is it with them when they are so sooo tired but just wont clost their eyes and sleep?? He is also doing a lot of fist sucking the last day or two and I was wondering what that was all about but i agree that i recon its a development thing. I have noticed he is holding his head up better now but really really doesnt like tummy time so isnt as advanced as others that do, does everyone else do tummy time, if so for how long at a time?
wrt a routine he feeds every 3.5-4 hours and has for the last 3 nights been going down properly in his moses around 10.30 after his last feed(he sleeps in his swing in the living room on and off from 7ish)waking around 5.30-6ish am for a feed. I have tried not to feed him at this time but he is defo hungry taking a whole 6oz. The problem with that is he goes back to sleep and sleeps till around 8ish so puts the day time routing right out(and screws DH's chances of me making his sanies for work as I'd much rather sleep!!)I would really REALLY love to have him run like clock work but as some of u have said its impossible as they are little individuals and have different needs on different days and i would much prefer that than some robot baby.
TSC i love the idea of ur teas, my DH doesnt eat anything made with mince or anything sloppy except curry and he is very particular about them so most of m teas are fresh cooked. I did chilli last week and he ate it but didnt like it, it really does my head in coz i love that sort of thing. can i come to urs for tea???
mylife Why does he not do anything? Some one once said to me to be carefull not to disempower my DH, i didnt really get it at the time but i think they could probably see that i was a controle freak and unless i stood back and let my dh do 'it' in his own way he just wouldnt do 'it' at all. Its very difficult though.I do find it funny and sweet when he calls me up to help with explosion nappy or something equally grim.
He also told me today that he thinks im doing a good job, it does mean a lot.
Devon is sleeping!!!!Hurrah!!he isnt very settled though the poor thing, he has had a bit of a blocked up nose.........ooooppppss hes awake again, thats only about an hours sleep hes had since 10ish this morning, Hmmm im just hoping it means he will sleep tonight!!

Woodlands · 20/09/2010 17:35

have just been out for a swim as dh was working from home and j was asleep. it felt good to get some exercise! and i've got choir later, hope dh doesn;t have to do too much pacing up and down. j totally isn't bthered about type of bottle etc - so long as there's milk he's not bothered.

oops - just pulled down t-shirt after bfing and have got chocolate all down itn Blush

tsc i made double of everything i made while pregnant, chilli, bolognaise, curry etc so we had loads when baby arrived havent done anything since!!! need to pull my finger out! i spend about £10 on formula at the mo!
vik i do tummy time for about 5-10 mins a day also if hes a happy chap i put a blanket on my lap and put him on tummy then, this is how hv told me to start him off with it so it isnt hard floor to start with.
my dh helps out with everything, i cook he washes, i mop he hoovers, he doesnt do toilets though and i cleaned his shower the other day when i realised his idea of cleaning it was with his nailbrush as he showers!!! GRIM!! so glad i dont do showers! he also looks after baby while i bath everynight and does 90% of feeds and bum changes at weekends and always help me bath him, couldnt do it alone so in awe of you nixter i struggle when he is away for a few nights! always tells me im doing well too bless him!

anyone needing clothes Asda is 25% of all jeans this week, got £45 of baby clothes for £17! £10 dungaree sets reduced to £5 then as its denim and extra 25% off! gpt him gorgeous pramsuit too from m and s!!!

kkfairybrains · 20/09/2010 19:54

Tsc its only about £7 or maybe bit more for a tin and that does me about a week and a half so not bad really!! Defo works for me cos beong back to work since ellie was 3 weeks i really dont have the time for cluster feeds and all that jazz.
My friend took ellie at about 3 today cos she wants some alone time with her!! And she still hasnt brought her back. Kind of want her back now cos i want a cuddle!!

thanks for all your kinds words ladies. i can appreciate that in some ways i'm better off without the interference/irritation of having a man around but i guess sometimes the emotional/financial support would be nice. Sounds like your DH is a bit of a star memphis

had a lovely afternoon today with a couple of friends and their kids. Dreya was spoiled with lots of kisses from my mate's 3 year old boy! Quite glad she still settled off to sleep after her bath as she slept for nearly 2 hours this afternoon and would've gone longer if i'd not woken her up at 5 for her bottle!

kk you are brave letting your friend take LO i've only ever left Dreya for half hour with my mum and that was hard enough. i am going out for a belated birthday meal first week in october so that should be a test for me.

memphis83 · 20/09/2010 21:02

kk i dont mind handing Lyndon over to people but even dh has to give a time he will be back, i get all hot and panicky if they arent back by that time!! and i love the cuddle i get on his return.
im working tomorrow as mum has an old work reunion all day at a manor house morning tea, lunch then afternoon tea and Lyndon is going with her he will love smiling his head off to about 30 random old ladies! wonder how much money he will bring home for his money box, old ladies love giving him money for his savings pot! i really need to open a bank account, i havent even sorted out the child tax credits for him yet!!!
mlic i wont be letting my dh near bathtime when hes a toddler bathtime is wind down time and at 10 weeks old we both ended up soaked last night as he kicked so much at dh talking all excited to him, when he wakes at 4-5am dh has a habit of chatting to him and making him smile i keep telling him not to so i have a feeling i will be telling him off for winding him up at bedtime for years to come!

dont blame you tsc my mil is generally good but while my family treat both boys the same she obviously prefers her own grandson but theres no way my son will be left out now rileighs here. I havent found your thread so dont know the full story, will you have to stay with her if you go? X

Tsc we'r more like sisters than friends!! We'v been best friends since we were 6 and our families are very close too so not that odd really! Would find it a bit weird maybe if it was one of my other friends but her its like my brother taking her!
I feel like a big bad mummy cos i'v left ellie loads of times! Only overnight once when dp aunt minded her the night of the christening but i missed her like mad!!
On the subject of dp helping out mine is a star. My cousin booked me a weekend in england in october (and im DREADING leaving ellie) and dp will have ellie and i have full trust in him. Personally i wouldnt expect it to be any other way as i feel shes OUR child and i work as hard as him so we sbould share the workload and responsibility. But thats just my way of thinking and i dont expect other people to feel the same
