dh priamark and peacocks have baby dressing gowns, rileighs is from peacocks and has slippers lol. Enjoy your group.

mlic do you think ds is associating feeds with pain? I think colicky babies can go off their feeds. Just incase maybe the doc could help with that and the constipation x

memphis83 · 17/09/2010 09:44

dh the dressing gowns in peacocks are lovely
kk i find the snot removers good i got the one in tesco's orignially i got the NUK one in boots but that is rubbish!
mlic hopefully today is a better day must be so frustrating.

we were up at 4.30, i wish mark would leave for work quieter dont see why he feels the need to turn lights on in bathroom, hallway, spare room!! Lyndon was up and didnt go back down til about 10 mins ago think hes a bit poorly mark and me feel ill, ive got a fever and swollen glands hope it clears today got bike show and wedding tomorrow! was supposed to have dentist today but they have cancelled as hes ill thats 2 appointments that have been cancelled this week, they still havent sent a new app for his jabs will call them later i think

Chulita · 17/09/2010 12:03

vik Sam has no routine at all, he sleeps when he feels like it, feeds whenever and just does what he wants. I'd like a pattern to it but nevermind...
mlic would you be as worried if you didn't know how much he was taking in? I only ask because Sam is exclusively bf and he feeds every 1.5 to 2 hours even now. He fusses on the boob, screaming/arching his back/on-off-on-off, after a feed he's usually in pain, crying and winding him takes forever only to produce a tiny burp/fart that makes no difference. He rarely feeds for longer than 8-10 mins. He throws up huge amounts too but I have no idea how much he's taking in. He's gaining weight but not hugely quickly - he does have a good suck reflex though, in fact he's only happy if he's sucking my finger...

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/09/2010 12:32

Cool thanks stac and memphis Ill have a look in there today :)

So annoyed, my friend has cancelled AGAIN Angry what makes it worse is she told a blatent lie to get out of seeing me. I really dont know why I bother with her at all.

kkfairybrains · 17/09/2010 12:46

Thanks for advice ladies. Tried the snot sucker but didnt work for me as the snots are more in her chest qnd throat and come out in big gooey lumps when she sneezes. She didnt wake up last night but found it hard to get to sleep with it and i think it seems to have dried up a bit this morn. Hope it doesnt gey worse over the weekend!
Mlic i know he should be taking more but at least hes getting some into him. That was a great feed last night and a good sleep! Hows he been today?
Dh now i want a dressing gown!!! Gonna see can i order one online somewhere cos we dont have peacocks here.

mylife soundslike he has done a bit better today, it must be hard when he sems distressed, the colic is bad enough to deal with as he seems in discomfort so i know where ur coming from.
I have been reading the baby whisperer, i might buy the book. It seems more flexable than Gina, which i have completly given up on. Its looks like its more about reading ur babys signals. Which i dont think im very good at yet. Has anyone got any experience of it?
I have been writing everything down today, i dont know about anyone else but my memory is horrendous, cant remember what times he has fed/slept etc.
I have put him down for a sleep in the vain hope that hes not crying by the time my husband gets home, i do think he is tired but he is resisting, he is chewing his hands too but he cant possibley be hungry he was fed at 2.30!!Well he is asleep now, so when he wakes up it will be bath, feed, bed(well swing in the living room!!) and it WILL be as easy as that!!!
I have got make ur own pizza for tea and some beers for DH, for those of u on FB i dont know if u can see his status as i have commented on it, he is really stressed out atm so going to try and make things as stress free as poss at home...............

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/09/2010 17:36

Hi ladies, home from shopping, quite a productive day.
Managed to get a nice blue dressing gown with slippers for Dylan from Peacocks, £7!

Ive been looking for a zip up hoody for him as its getting chillier out there now. I looked everywhere but no luck Confused

Next had a few but I didnt really like them as they said "NEXT" on the front, yeah no one wants to know where its from....
The clothes in H&M are weird sizes 2-4 months 4-6 months...Hmm
They had a really lovely one in Zara but they didnt have his size grrr..in fact they had nothing in his size except ONE T-shirt, most things started at 6-9 months, shame as the clothes in there are pretty groovy!

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/09/2010 19:33

tsc could you not top up with formula? Just for when your off out, i know i'm not breast feeding but with rileigh even if she takes extra she still wants her feed again at the usual time she just takes less or more to suit herself. To save money you could buy the ready made cartons instead of a full tub, they hold 7oz so it could be there as a back up

dh have you tried primark? Their boys stuff is much better than the girls lol. Love dylans dressing gown

viks my memory is complete crap, also becky and violet loosely follow the baby whisperer, there is a programm on sky but i cant find it lol. Also rileigh chews her hands but i think its teething starting even though it will be ages before she has teeth. I gave rileigh a teething ring to chew on

mlic feel for both of you, how was he last night? Is your app for the hospital in october? I think i'll need to ween rileigh at 4 months she is a grubber

kk have you tried the karvol drops? Its like vicks for babies. It wont get rid of snot but will help ellie breath easier. Good on you going to slimming world, i'm sticking with the exercise at the moment. What zumba dvd do you have?

memphis baby tv is on virgin 703 or 730, we were at a friend who has it lol

chulita have you spoke to hv about sam being sick, its just he sounds like rileigh and its reflux she has. They can give you meds to calm it for him.

becky and violet sorry i missed bounce and rhyme yesterday, what did you get up to? Are you all ok for next week? I may have to bring ds as schools off. Becky how long can you go to the exercise class? Is it a certain amount of weeks?

Hi to anyone i've missed, my memory is crap lol. My wee cuz got married, he looked so handsome. I was at zumba at 9.30 today didnt get in till 1.30 so i am knackered. Also after a month of bleeding it has worsened and i have cramp so rileigh and i are in bed. What you up to today? X

fantastic mlic maybe dh is noticing how hard things are for you with lo's hope it continues. W seemed to have had a better sleep. I meant to ask is the gp or hv concerned bout how much formula lo is taking? Maybe they are just happy he is eating and gaining weight. I'm with you on the basis that little and often is too much, as its hard going x

stac I'm taking him on monday, a couple of my friends suggested it was reflux. I mentioned it at his check-up but they weren't interested so I'll push for something, he spends most of his life in pain :(

Sam didn't go to sleep til gone 10 pm, he was crying all evening and it's heartbreaking...was up 3 times in the night too!

tsc :)

Irishfairy · 18/09/2010 15:14

Ooh, that's great TSC! Well done Frankie!

Mindy managed 11pm to 6am last night. :) It was her first night in the big cot in the nursery, so took a little while to get her settled, but she was fine after that. Hopefully it'll be ok going forward and I can have my half of the master bedroom back!

Hee, on the topic of dressing gowns, Mindy has an extra special one... Mine! My parents dug out the one I had when I was a baby, which had been made for me by my (now sadly departed) Grandma. The dressing gown is a little faded now, but it's still lovely. :)

I did indulge yesterday in a lovely soft pram suit though. Since the weather is getting cooler now, I figure Mindy'll soon need it for our walks. There'll be pictures when she does!

stac14, Mindy chews her hands too, but in her case she seems perpetually hungry. Wink I've noticed her starting to drool more though, but apparently I was a late teether. Hopefully she'll follow! Teeth and breastfeeding seems like a really bad combination. Confused

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/09/2010 17:05

Hi all, been shopping today to get some essentials, not much else apart from that.

Dylan slept 11-4 last night, then til 6:30 then he wanted to get up. I had an hours sleep at half 10-half 11 this morning tho while DP looked after him which was really nice.

spirael how lovely that she has your old dressing gown!

tsc well done Frankie! I bet you couldnt believe your eyes when you looked at the time!

Needle · 18/09/2010 18:32

Hi ladies. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Random question. How the hell do you clean under a baby's fingernails? God knows how she gets them so dirty!

nixster28 · 18/09/2010 20:20

hey there, long time no speak but finally i have internet in my new home.

I'll have a go at catchin up on the thread but hope hat everyone is gettin on well and enjoying their little bundles xxx

Thanks mlic, I'm always so worried about cutting her fingertips with the nail Scissors.

I don't know what's happened, she's gone from sleeping from 9 through to 6 to waking up three times a night. I think it's because we've been going for walks every evening since we moved into the centre of London and she always sleeps in the pram. whatever it is, it's not a welcome development!
