becky i probably will still be there, i'll txt if i'm finished before that. I meant to ask do we have to book? Yeah for tramway after bounce and rhyme. The zumba was much easier than i thought, luckily i started at a brand new class as we were told it can be hard but i honestly really enjoyed it. X

Morning all! Hope things are going ok for everyone at the moment. :)

Mindy is 2 months today too, stac. Grin It's scary to think she's now 1/6th of a year old. Shock Our LOs are growing up so quickly. We're keeping a record of Mindy's weight and height each month, so it's the 'ceremonial' weigh and measure tonight.

We've taken a bit of a step backwards here with sleeping... Not had a full night since the first set of vaccinations at the end of last week. Hmm Currently we've reverted back to 10pm-3:30am-7am. Which admittedly isn't disastrous, but I was getting used to a nice 10pm-6am stretch!! Oh well... Hopefully she'll start dropping the 3:30am feed again soon.

I'm still (almost) exclusively BFing and have broken out in spots too, thesecondcoming! So you're not alone there. I was hoping assuming it was something to do with after birth hormones, so BFing hormones works with my theory. Hopefully it'll go away when I stop! I'm getting sick of having more spots than the average teenager. Wink

I've resolved to keep going with BFing until Mindy reaches the 12 week mark and has her next set of vaccinations. I'll reassess at that point and might start to migrate to formula then, depending on how things are going. I figure she'll have had the best of what I can offer by then, and her own immune system should be getting up to speed. :)

The constant cluster feeding every afternoon/evening is starting to get grating now, as I'm essentially trapped on the sofa and can't go anywhere or do anything! I'm also getting annoyed with the thrush in my breasts which just will not go away, and going to see the doctor every week or two about it is getting increasingly annoying.

Getting an appointment at my surgery is like getting blood out of a stone, they said they had nothing for three weeks last time I was there! Shock Fortunately the nurse doing Mindy's vaccinations smuggled me in to a reserved doctor appointment the following day. Also, the last two times I've been to the surgery they've been running an hour late! Not great, sat for that amount of time in a hot waiting room full of sick people, trying to stop a perpetually hungry baby from bawling the place down. Confused

Hi all,

I got a brazilian today! God it was pretty painful but I kept telling myself its better than childbirth.

Ive decided that nothing I do makes a difference to Dylan's sleep at night; lots of feeds, spaced out feeds, lots of sleep, not much sleep, lots of play, less play, fresh air, no fresh air...etc. He is just always going to wake up at 1/2am and again at 5ish and be unsettled til I get up at 8.
Just hope it doesnt last for months on end.

memphis83 · 07/09/2010 16:25

dh your braver than me!!! i would prefer to go through that 44 hour labour again than have a brazilian!!!
Lyndon and I had our 6 week check today shes pretty happy with both of us, she squeezed his little balls though that made me wince but it didnt bother him! got hv side of it tomorrow to weight him etc.
hes been so good today, ive managed to do a load of washing, ironing, cleaning and baked 2 caked, lemon drizzle and a tea bread! supposed to be going gym tonight but if weather stays nice i may be able to get out of it, i suggested going out on bikes instead!! only problem is mil is looking after him for 1st time and im dreading it she pretty rubbish, dh tells her to talk to him and all she says is hello like a bloody parrot over and over and when he cries she hands him to me!!!

stac14 · 07/09/2010 16:37

got rileigh weighed today and shes 13lb 1oz so big lol but she hasnt gained loads of weight since she was last weighed but the hv is happy with her progress.

dh your so brave getting a brazilian but i defo need 1 too lol, i think your right about the lo's routine not being affected by what you do and at the moment it wont but it should change soon thankfully

spireal that is scary when you think of it that way lol, let us know her weight x

It was my first one ever aswell! I think DP was very much looking forward to me getting it done too lol, Im sure its worth it just to see his face Grin

kkfairybrains · 07/09/2010 18:55

Dh theres nothing like the feeling of getting them done!i always get it done and itd actually not that bad!
Have been reading over last few days but been too busy to post and starting to feel out of the loop!
Had my mums 50th at the weekend which was brill! Have something on every weekend for the next 5 or 6 weeks now and dunno where im gonna pick the money out of!

violetbubbles · 07/09/2010 19:00

I'm still breastfeeding exclusively and it's f*ing hard!!!! I caved and bought some formula last week but haven't used it yet. I have it in the cupboard 'just in case' Wink. I had always hoped to breastfeed exclusively until 6 months but am now working towards a target of 3 months then I'll reassess my target again...I'm still not producing enough milk in the evenings but the health visitor tells me that all I have to do is eat porrage, express a little after each feed and spend a few days in bed with baby attached for 24 hours then my milk supply will improve...I just nodded and said thanks for the advice...then cursed under my breath. Instead of following her advice I bought the Medela Swing electric breast pump. It's my new best friend. Smile.

Becky and Stac - see you on Friday at Bounce and Rhyme - looking forward to it! :)

x

stac14 · 07/09/2010 21:14

My friends in labour. She's 8 days late so the did a membrane sweep and shes been contracting all day. She txt at 5pm to say they had slowed as she had lay down she was told by mw to keep moving. Going to give her a wee txt to see how she is, hopefully i hear nothing lol x

Oh god all the talk of excersizing is making me feel guilty, i don none what so ever, i do need to start for defo! I have my 6 week check next tues so i think ill wait for that.
.........TMI alert..........those of u who had stiches, are they healed now? I still feel uncomfortable down there and we tried to have 'relations' the other night but it was really painfull like something is pulling/to tight. I have had a look and it looks like its pulling too. I suppose i'll have to show the doc, i was hoping to keep my dignity intact but i guess i'll have to get my bits out again

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/09/2010 08:50

When will the nights get better :( Dylan is still waking 3ish times a night and now doesnt really sleep longer than 3 hours at a time. Im so shattered I feel sick with tiredness, my eyes sting and Im really emotional.

A glass measuring jug just fell of my kitchen side and smashed and I cried.

memphis83 · 08/09/2010 09:01

vik my stiches are all healed (and i had a hell of a lot) the first time i exercised the area felt like it was pulling, but it was scar tissue as i know stitches have all gone, it takes 5 weeks for internal stitches to dissolve if you had any of those, as doc at check next week to be sure a girl i knows baby is a year old and shes just had to be re cut and stitched as she didnt tell doc she felt there was a problem at 6 weeks!!
dh poor you, could you pump or use formula at night so your dp can help with at least one of the feeds or just at weekends? my dh does all feeds through night at a weekend to give me a rest and its what kept me sane on bad weeks
kk im with you wondering where money is going to come from, we have a golf presentation and 2 weddings in the next month.
i hardly bled after i had LO and i had the depo injection last week and have bled since i never had this before i fell pregnant! got car MOT and hv today i wonder what my little fatty weighs!

memphis what I might try is expressing a bottles worth and giving him that as his last feed cos I dont think I produce much milk in the eves. I seem to remember last time I gave him a bottle of my milk he slept alot better so might be worth a try.
Will def get DP to help although tbh he doesnt deal with tiredness as well as I do so Id rather feel tired than have to put up with him being stroppy.

viksam · 08/09/2010 09:47

I forgot to say, we moved Devon out yesterday....I felt really bad but he is all hooked up we have the tomy video monitor and breathing monitor so i can see him/hear him/know he is breathing and know the temperature in his room. His oom is right next to ours and i dont even need the monitor sound on he is that close. He had his last feed at 10ish, went down pretty much straight after then slept through till 5!!!!!!!!It was me that woke up at 3 lying there watching him sleep! I treated his 5 feed like a night time feed and he slept on then till 8.30.....i was up with DH at 7.30! bummer. but great night and he is in such a good mood this morning, making up for being a screaming banshee for 3 hours yesterday evening! Got the reclining swing coming today, cant wait.
DH Oh man i feel for u, its just tiredness thats the only reason u feel bad, i know that sounds obvious but if u can just get some extra sleep today u will feel instantly better. I think i try and protect DH a bit much and take everything on myself, maybe ur doing the same. Maybe let him have lo when he gets home and u could have a kip? I think we all know how u feel though
mylife I may do the same with the night feed, i rush for a bottle as soon as he wakes up and maybe i shouldnt.

memphis83 · 08/09/2010 13:25

mlic yes he did sleep through! got up at half 5 but that was only because dh woke for work but as soon as he went Lyndon dropped off again! i got out of going to the gym Grin i suggested a spin on bikes instead!
dh my dh works between 60-70 hours a week and is tired when he comes home and can be stroppy but the way i look at it is if im asleep then i cant hear his strop!!
vik sounds like a good night for you! your monitors sound excellent, my sil gave us one which does the job but i wouldnt be able to use it at night as it makes a humming noise think i should invest in one like yours?!

went hv Lyndon weighs 12pound 1oz little fatty! he is so chatty now, its lovely to hear. hv gave me info on a mother and baby group in the area but its on a monday the only day i cant do!!

kkfairybrains · 08/09/2010 13:46

Mlic hopefully now that hes not taking a feed at night hel start to sleep through when his cold is gone.
Dh u poor thing. I know when i wad really tired like vik i was trying to protect dp too as he had work in the morning and didnt want him coming home to do housework or dinners. But as i started feeling better with more sleep i let him do his fair share too.i work in the evenings and do everyting all day too so fair is fair and he doesnt mind a bit.maybe just talk about it and if he wants to help out with something let him x
memphis yay for u getting full night! It makes all the difference to how u cope with things.so greatful we'v a good little sleeper!.
Well ellie had her jabs today and i cried :(.she wad in such a good mood today! Up at 7 this morn chatting away in her little language and full of smiles snd excitment! And even just before the nurse gave her the first jab she wad smiling away and thwn she screamed! Oh god i feel so bad :(

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/09/2010 15:58

Thanks everyone, it always helps to hear kind words on here :)
I managed to express about 5oz earlier, prob could have done more but my hand was aching and I dont think he'll need more than that for his last feed tonight.
DP can give it to him too which he enjoys doing so it will give me a break.

Its good to know I can express that much in a day though, so when we decide to brave the outside world of an evening, I can leave Dylan with my sister.

I think Im over tired now, I just tried sleeping and couldnt quite get there so have left Dylan sleeping in my warm patch on the sofa! (Im sitting next to him though!)

stac14 · 08/09/2010 16:21

sorry for a short post there rileigh wanted a nap. We were at the hospital today to get my glucose tolerance test done i am happy to say i no longer have diabetes. Was going to meet becky after her class but lo was fed up as we had been there since 9am and she was up from 7 so not happy lol

mlic i think your right about learning from your first lo, i have manage to settle dd much quicker than ds at her age. I ignore her as long as possible as most of the time she just likes the sound of her own voice haha

dh you are knackered hun, it will get better. I know it doesnt feel that way and maybe expressing will help even if dp could do a cpl of feeds at the weekend. Hope you get a better night tonight

kk we are totally skint and loads is coming up, its a nightmare. But at the same time enjoying socialising properly again lol. It is hard seeing lo in pain but you were getting her the jags to help her. I have to go through it tomorrow and i am dreading it too

Well done viks moving devon into his own room, its amazing how well they do without us. Re: stitches i had them with ds and relations at first made me feel like a born again virgin, if it doesnt ease off after a cpl of times see your doc

memphis who's dragging you to the gym? How was mil with lyndon?
How is everyone else and lo's? X

OP posts:
memphis83 · 08/09/2010 16:41

dh when dp is giving Dylan his bottle why dont you have a soak in bath with a trashy mag and if you have it some of the johnsons bedtime bath (as Lyndon cant use it i thought i would steal it from him and it relaxes me no end) Grin
stac dh was going to drag me to the gym, my own fault i asked him to as soon as i was given go ahead to exercise, i literally need a crowbar under my ass to get me to the gym!!
mil was ok with him, she was shocked he wouldnt sleep but seeing as i gave her a bottle to give him to make him drop off and when we got back it was on floor untouched i wasnt surprised! she had him propped up on sofa facing the tv which infuriates me!!! dont get me wrong im under no illusion that i wont use the tv as a way of me getting jobs done but babysitting for an hour and making the poor boy watch chris tarrant! maybe her argumet would have been the questions were educational!! :)
