dh I'm with you on the shattered front. Sam's still feeding 3 times a night and he doesn't go down til about 10pm which means DH and I don't get anytime together. DD's been trouble this week too so we're just absolutely knackered. Up at 5am with a toddler after being up all night with Sam is sooo hard!

stac how was Zumba?

DH took Sam into the living room and shut the door this morning so I could have a 'peaceful soak in the bath'. Very kind but he didn't take DD so I got squirted and offered cups of 'tea' and bubbles wiped on my hair for 30 mins til I gave up Grin

I'd better go and wake Sam up, after not sleeping all day, he's now had over 2 hours and I want him to get to sleep a bit earlier this evening if possible.

viksam · 08/09/2010 22:09

chulita LOL at DD trying to get u up, think its the bubbles wiped in hair thats the funniest!
OK so we had the swing delivered and its the most amazing thing, it has a net around it and a light that shines stars on to the net and a mobile and 16 songs. The stars are so pretty, i want to get in it! Devon has been sleeping in it for ages so we have had minimal crying tonight, wonderfull. It is so padded and totally reclines so i recon its ok to let them sleep in there for a while, that story about the baby dying in a swing has freaked me out though! Right here goes the last feed of the day, lets see what the night brings! Good luck, heres to a good night for all.x

stac14 · 09/09/2010 07:42

memphis your so right about using the tv as a babysitter especially chris tarrant lol. I have to admit to try and get things done i sometimes put baby tv on but rileigh isnt intrested unless its mega loud and colourful.

dh did you have a better night?

Happy birthday chulita zumba was fab, it doesnt feel like exercise and it was such a laugh. Are you going to a class or getting a dvd? Lol at dd with her bubbles so cute

viksam swing sounds amazing were did you get it? If you said i've forgot lol
Well its jag day here so wish we didnt have to go. On the plus side rileigh woke at 6.30 and is sleeping again, oh wee sleep for me x

Chulita · 09/09/2010 08:07

stac we're moving in 3 weeks and I found a class near our new house, thought it might be a fun way to meet people (and lose this horrendous baby-belly!) Glad you enjoyed it, I'm a bit nervous cos can't dance to save my life!

viks what swing is it? sound fab! Sam hates his rainforest swing, total waste of money...

memphis dd gets babysat by the TV far too much, she now gets the remote and brings it to us saying 'yes, yes' Blush not good!

I hoped for a birthday lie-in but we had a crap night last night and Sam's crying again - think we might go out for breakfast. The only place here is the Sally Army cafe but better than branflakes in bed...

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/09/2010 08:35

chulita LOL at the cups of 'tea' bless!

stac yes last night was a bit better thank god, he didnt fall into a deep sleep til about 9:45pm, we went to bed just after 10 and went to sleep around 11. He woke himself up cos he had wind and I was lying there waiting for him to cry. I looked at him and he had his eyes open but no cry came and he must have fell back asleep as I didnt hear from him til midnight ish. Like mlic I didnt get him out straight away, I gave him his dummy and he fell back asleep til half 2, then I fed him and he slept til 6, Ive been out of bed since 7:45, so yeah better than the other night lol.

Sorry thats prob more info than you bargained for!

Getting out the flat today woo! Going to meet a friend, shes got a 3 and a half month old who I havent met yet!

I'm so glad this thread is still going- i've barely had time to look at a computer since DD was born!

I have to ask- it it normal at six weeks for baby to not sleep at all during the day? I never thought i would miss housework, but I feel like i'm pining for my marigolds!

memphis83 · 09/09/2010 15:30

chulita im a real telly head at times but i face Lyndon away from telly, my little bro loves zingzilla, wayballoos and all that rubbish that sends me mad after 10 mins so im dreading it when hes a toddler, sil's kids stare at tv opened mouthedand dont blink scares the crap out of me. spoke to someone yesterday about childcare, comsidering another part time job on days i dont work with mum further down the line...£40 a day, and at school gates with sil i found that this woman just sits kids infront of telly!
needle my ds is 8 weeks and apart from the odd day his naps barely amount to an hour added up, according to hv it is normal! i have him in swing in kitchen while i cook!!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/09/2010 17:39

Im so glad someone brought up sleeping during the day, I literally just came on here to rant about it!

Dylan has slept for a grand total of half an hour ALL DAY!
He fell asleep on me at 10am (I had a snooze too) and then he woke at half past and Ive been out all day, pushing him in the pram, he got grumpy every now and then, nothing major but didnt sleep at all, even though he looks SO tired, really red eyes, yawning etc. Why wont he sleep!?

kkfairybrains · 09/09/2010 18:54

i find some days ellie sleeps more than others. shes widw awake now since nearly 5 but thats the first shes been awake all day apart from bottles and then other days she barely sleeps at all.
my god she's coming on so much in the last 2 days! she's really chatting now and loves being chatted to and then she statrted grabbing things yesterday like her dummy or the pull thing on her playmat! and then this new thing today its as if she's just realised that her hand is attatched to her cos she just keeps staring at it and moving it going nearly cross eyed looking at it! so funny looking. was just doing a wash cut and blow dry there and she sat the whole time just looking at us chatting away!

kkfairybrains · 09/09/2010 18:55

oh forgot to ask memphis where do you buy Lyndon's clothes? he just has the most gorgeous and different stuff! he's so cool looking!

memphis83 · 09/09/2010 20:15

kk which clothes? usually asda, boots , h and m and next got a few designer sort of bits that have been bought for us but dont think ive put him in them!! and his funky bibs are normally boots and mothercare. sil got us a great one halloween black babygrow but i will put him in it more as i love stuff like that!
dh hopefully dylan will sleep better at night if hes awake more in the day!

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/09/2010 21:02

memphis I hope your right! Time will tell Grin

I was in boots earlier, their clothes are really nice, bit on the pricey side though. I generally buy Dylan bits and bobs from Tesco or Asda as at this age they grow out of them so fast I feel cheated if I spend loads on one outfit which he only wears a couple of times! We still get given loads of clothes at the mo.

viksam · 09/09/2010 21:59

Hi,
My swing is fisher price starlight papasan cradle swing. He is in it now and has been since 7.30ish......he has been out for nappy change and to see is he is still miserable and he was ok for a few mins, i was able to do some massage moves on his belly and get some wind out which is good but then he started to grizzle so hes gone back in for a few mins till his feed at 10 then hopefully he will go down in his moses. Last night he woke at 3, i tried to settle him without his bottle but he was having none of it unfortunatly and he was up at 7 and wanting more. I was out today so used an Aptamil carton which is 200ml and he took it all as sweet as a nut so i have upped his feeds to 6oz, he is having 6 bottles of 6oz now, that sounds quite a lot to me, he is 7 weeks today.
kk Ellie sounds so lovely, its amazing how quick they change.
DH Have u got a swing? I have found on days when he wont sleep its only the swing that works.
mylife does sound like she payed propper attention.....in the end. I find they are so quick to jump to conclusions.
chulita thats rubbish that he hates it, i was dead worried that Devon would hate this one but it does the trick, its just massive thats all.
Stac how did u get on today?

kkfairybrains · 09/09/2010 22:06

Memphis all his lovely vests anf babygros and hix pirate stuff. They'r just so different i never see anything like that in ireland. Goin to england for a weekend in october so will be on the lookout for some nice different bits!

stac14 · 09/09/2010 23:39

hi ladies, rileigh's been a bit grizzly from her jags but think its her temperature. She is asleep but not sure if she will stay settled, the calpol has helped loads. I feel so sorry and guilty about the jags even though i know she needs them. Anyway its done now and she's fine.

chulita you dont have to be a good dancer, im crap lmao but defo a good way to meet people.

kk ellie mays coming on fab, i love the gabbing and smiles. Its great isnt it
Rileigh hardly sleeps during the day but as kk says she can have days were she sleeps loads. Well bounce and rhyme tomorrow with violet and becky so should be a good day, heres hoping rileigh stays awake this time lol x

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/09/2010 08:18

viks I would but I dont think he would go in it.

He fell asleep at 6ish last night in his bouncy chair with the vibrations on, dummy in and me bouncing it with my foot whilst trying to eat dinner! He slept for about 40 mins.

I seem to be getting into the habit of expressing as much as I can during the day then DP giving it to him in a bottle in the eve before he goes to bed. He still wakes around 1 or 2am but at least it gives me a break.

Im going to the breastfeeding group today, I promise I wont chicken out this time!

viksam · 10/09/2010 09:54

DH u will be proud of urself when u come out and suprised at how nice everyone is in sure.

We had 'relatons' YAY!!! and it didnt hurt at all, just a bit of pulling. Im so glad DH still wants to after seeing me in my worst hour, its actually a relief. He even says he likes my soft saggy little boobs, love must have made him blind!!!!!!

Going to drive over to his other work today so he can show off his son and take me for lunch. I have done something every day this week im quite pleased and the house is clean and washings up to date, must be having a good week! I think its because I have been getting more quality sleep and DH is back in our room so it feels like things are back to 'normal' a bit more.

Whats everyone doing at the weekend?

Woodlands · 10/09/2010 18:24

talking of daytime sleep, DS has been asleep since 12.45, with a couple of sleepy feeds! i keep trying to wake him up as we have a long drive this evening to my PILs, and I want him to sleep through that and also to sleep tonight, but he won't have it. i guess it's because last night he wouldn't go to sleep until 2.30am, fed at 6am and then we got up at 9.30am, so he only had about 6 hours sleep. The night before he slept badly too, and yesterday he had a clingy day where he fed all day, so he was probably due a sleepy day today.

on the plus side i have got a load of housework done and have packed for tonight. on the minus side he slept all through BF group and so couldn't really get the latch checked!

BTW I have namechanged - I was emster.

mylife i totally sympathise, its the most horrid thing. He screams every night on the dot of 7, we were wondering if he just hates the One show!! This is why we brought the wonder swing, and its still amazing, he's asleep in it now and dh just switched the light off but i switched it back on coz its sooo pretty!
I met dh for lunch and he took me to a lovely pub but Devon cried all through lunch.Bummer.
woodlands I hope u have a nice time and the journey goes well!

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/09/2010 08:17

I went to the breastfeeding group yesterday! There were about 7 other mums, all older than me but that was to be expected. Their LOs ranged from 6 weeks to 2 years old so Dylan wasnt the youngest.
The 6 week old only weighs 6lb! She was 3 weeks early and weighed 5lb at birth, she was SO tiny!
I got given a breast pump which was good and we all sat and chatted and had tea and cake so was a good time and killed a couple of hours, will def be going again :)

We're not up to much this weekend, got friends coming over this eve, she's 19 weeks pregnant so can ask her all the annoying pregnancy questions!

I picked up my engagement ring from the jewellers yesterday and gave it back to DP so its just a matter of time ladies Grin

memphis83 · 11/09/2010 08:44

dh boots clothes are a little pricey but at x mas mymum and me got all our presents from boots and ended up with £80 of advantage points then after x ams allthe clothes were bogof so they didnt cost anything!!:)
stac ive been looking for that baby tv, with no joy, i have virgin media. Lyndon isnt bothered by tv and if it got my jobs done i wouldnt mind, but mil only sees him once a week and couldnt entertain him for an hour!
kk the b & w one was from mothercare in one of those gift boxes and the other one was from asda, got a great one he is wearing today, i hope he dont throw up on it, it looks like a tattooed bodysuit, cost £30 i blame pregnancy maddness for buying it but i won the bonus ball at work week i got it so i kind of justified it Confused
tsc doesnt sound like the best hol, but at least you got a lie in! lol at the pissed up pikeys and ferrel kids, think i will give pontins a miss!! Grin

viksam · 11/09/2010 10:12

tsc i missed ur post yesterday, holiday sounds..........interesting. My town is full of exactly that and I feel like coz i have baby i get tarred with the same brush, hope people can see we are not pissed up pikeys!! Feral kids is funny though! Formula is expensive i do agree, Frankie is a big boy isnt he, or is Devon really small. Devon is only on the 25th line. He was 7 weeks on thurs and he weighed 9lb14oz on monday. I feel bad now as Frankie is still having cuddles in ur bed and poor Devon is in his own room Sad
memphis where did u get the tattooed body suite from? Sounds cool!
DH Great that u enjoyed group, it really makes u feel better talking to others and listening to their issues and problems. Think we are all going to hold our breath till ur dp pops the question, hope he does it soon, very exciting!!
We are having a lovely lazy sat morning, just making bacon sarni and still in PJ's!! all good this end!! xxx
