viksam · 25/08/2010 15:12

G'day ladies,
Well i have to report my uneventfull night.Devon went down, with a bit of a struggle at around 11.30ish then didnt wake up till about 4.20!!!!!!!Amazing! he had a nice feed and went back down with minimal grunting and stayed there noise free till 7.45, i got up and sneeked into DH's bed and had a lovely cuddle. So not only am i all loved up i actually had an ace amount of sleep too!! HURRAH! Its shitting it down here so havent gone out today, just done housework and even had more sleep, im banking it whilst the going is good, i know i will be gratefull during happy (3) hour tonight!

Chulita · 25/08/2010 15:46

Envy is all I have to say to that viks. We were up every 2 hours, an hour to feed/settle and an hour's sleep and repeat til 5am when S wouldn't settle and fell asleep on me til 6, fed, slept til DD woke up at 7...it's just a phase though [hopeful]

Guys, i can assure u i will be laughing on the other side of my face tonight. A blip is what last night was, im sure! Forgot to say, i swaddled him last night as he really flails his arms around and im sure that keeps him awake, so i plastered his arms down and he looked like a little worm with a massive head! but im sure thats what made the differance. Did it again for his lunch time sleep and had to wake him up at 2.30 he slept so well!
He seems to only fall asleep in his bouncer though, i hope its not going to be a bad sleep association.
stac what brought on the panic attack do u think?
memphis so have they broken in to ur moms shop before then?I used to manage a shop in brum and it got broken into 9 times in 5 months! so i know how crap it is. I feel for u.
DH your groups sound good, I havent got many friends and no family down here so i guess i need to get out.
tsc Bless him, its not going to be nice on Tuesday, but its better to get it over with i guess.

no wonder your annoyed memphis having to shell out money for arseholes. Our mates bike insurance went up £600 when he got his new bike as it is one of the more desireable ones for theives. Its ridiculous. Glad your ok though.

Thats a good weight mlic bet your friends glad he wasnt bigger. Whats she called him?

Morning all, did you all have a good night? X

DesperateHousewife21 · 26/08/2010 08:32

I literally cant cope with this bloody grunting EVERY morning, its like clockwork. As soon as he starts I know its around 5am and he doesnt go back to sleep, I change him, feed him, wind him. He does eventually stop but not for a good couple of hours, its annoying DP cos it stops him sleeping and he's got work.

I know its not my fault but I feel like it is because I cant make him stop.
I think its wind but not totally sure, he doesnt cry its just grunting which is too loud to ignore. Its only half 8 yet I feel like Ive been up for a whole day and ready to go to bed now!

viksam · 26/08/2010 08:39

Sorry memphis i totally misread ur post. Thats even worse! My god, i hope the Police help u!
My cousin just had a baby 9ib 11oz natural birt........Owch!! She will probably be visiting over the weekend in brum, her baby will be days old and still bigger than Devon!
stac Hmmmmmm well could have been worse i suppose but nowhere near as good as the night before. He was really really bad in the evening and eventually settled at 11ish then up at 2 and again at 5.30,fed well each time. I had an exploding nappy this morning and it was horrid, it had.........hold on.....TMI WARNING.....it had like a firmer darker bit in it, and also a very tiny streak of blood! anyone seen anything simalar?
Gona go to HV drop in today and ask about it and get him weighed again. Im dissappointed that his hair is falling out, hope it grows back quick!
Is it raining everywhere, sign of things to come i recon!

memphis83 · 26/08/2010 08:58

vik its rained all night here with no sign of stopping, oooh your poor friend! Lyndon must now weigh about that but he still looks tiny compared to othger babies his age!
mlic still a big baby as shes small but at that overdue it could have been worse! especially with a tall partner, my dh is my size so we were expecting a short baby but he seems quite long!!
stac Lyndon had his best night yet went sleep at 10, woke at 4!!!! (dh did that feed :) ) then gunted fron half 5 so i put him in his bouning chair as this stops it thinking i would get another hour and he woke up at 8.15!!
my friend is supposed to be coming today but ive cancelled i just want a lazy day after 2 days at work i was out the house for 14 hours yesterday, and dh is having a half day, Lyndon is cooing and playing on playmat, he had tummy ache yesterday and all i heard all night was farts so hes obviously happy to be empty of air!!! :)

Chulita · 26/08/2010 10:05

dh I've been up since 5am with grunting boy :( I keep thinking it's wind too but nothing gets it up and he always falls asleep about 7 just as DD's getting up. He's been awake since 8 now and is overtired. I can't get him to stop crying unless my finger's in his mouth so I've given up and he's screaming in the hallway. I just can't spend all day with him on me, it's not feasible...

memphis I hope the police can do something about those t*s trying to nick your bikes Angry

DesperateHousewife21 · 26/08/2010 10:12

chulita yeah Dylan is exactly the same, he'll get really tired by 7/8 and if he doesnt sleep he gets over tired. Hes in his moses basket now I keep having to go in there to give him the dummy back.
Yeah just been in there, he is SO tired, a few strokes of the head and his eyes were closed.

wow mlic seeing as hes not feeding as well as you hope that brilliant weight gain!! if swaddling helps settle him then keep doing it, i do it when lyndon is overtired as he thrashs his arms about and hits himself in face then he cries, my friend has year old twins and she still swaddles on of them as she wont sleep if she isnt!!

Spirael · 26/08/2010 11:29

Morning all! I'm really sorry to hear you got targeted again, Memphis. :( Hopefully the police will get a move on to resolve things!

Sorry for the silence from me lately... Mindy's been going through another growth spurt so I've had another couple of days of manic cluster feeding as she bumps up my supply again. Confused She seems to have settled down again now though and be back into her/our routine.

I seem to be pretty lucky with her sleeping habits. Shock She's pretty much clockwork... Falls asleep between 9:30-10pm and sleeps through until 3:30-4am, when she wants feeding and changing. Straight back to sleep afterwards then gets prodded awake at 7am for food and changing.

When she's not manic cluster feeding, she then falls asleep again in the car while dropping off DH, then stays asleep in the cot until around noon. Grin Which gives me time to post on MN keep the housework under control.

She does, however, still do her regular cluster feeding during the afternoon and evening every day. Though I now endeavour to express 4 fl oz during the quiet morning period which DH gives her it in a bottle mid evening, giving me a break and him the chance for cuddles. Works pretty well!

We had our 6 week check yesterday (at 7 weeks) and everything is ok. :) Though she wasn't weighed and measured as apparently they don't have the equipment at my surgery and I was meant to take her to the community clinic for that last week. Hmm I've been told to take her next week, but the clinic only runs on Monday and Wednesday for two hours each day. Monday is a bank holiday and I have the health visitor stopping by in the middle of the two hour period on Wednesday... So it looks like it'll be the week after!

Oh well, given how much she's growing I'm not really that concerned that she's not getting the food she needs. Wink I've started buying in the 6-9 month clothes now in preparation for if she suddenly shoots up again in a month or two and catches us by surprise. For now though she fits comfortably in the 3-6 months.

As a matter of curiosity, what is everyone doing regarding Christening/Baptism/Naming Ceremonies? And if you're doing something, when you doing it?

I've caused some family controversy by electing not to Baptise Mindy, but instead run an unofficial naming ceremony for her in October. A friend of the family is going to run the ceremony, which is based around a silver candlestick we're getting for Mindy, engraved with her details. :) We're then going to give each of the 'Mentors' (aka Godparents) a candlestick too and they'll light their candles from hers as part of the ceremony.

This'll all then be followed by sandwiches and cake. Grin Mmm...

viksam · 26/08/2010 11:32

memphis so he stayed in his chair all that time? I have been putting Devon in his chair a lot as its the only place he seems happy in and is able to fall asleep in without puking, but i have felt guilty as not sure its good for their little backs?? hes in there now, might go have a shower, thats why i like the chair so much as its nice and portable so can come in the bathroom with me.
