Just looking at the baby groups in the area. What groups are people going to? Is there any that people have found most usefull/fun? We have quite a lot actually,i fancy the music ones(i dont think i know any nursery rhymes Blush)Theres a baby and me group which includes baby massage singing and ather activities, thats on today at 2-3. Stupidly i feel a bit scared now its come to actually going, but im a very confident person so not sure where thats coming from?? would be interested to hear thoughts on groups.

stac friday is fine and violet just text to see if we are meeting so lets stick to that so she can come too. I'm fine to travel just tell me where to go! lol!

viksam i have only been to bounce and rhyme at the library- songs and story and it was lovely to see all the babies at different stages- there were mums and dads there and all very friendly :) i suppose everyone is in the same boat! Hope you go this afternoon. Although Sam is only 5 weeks he really seemed to be aware of all the goings on and slept really well yesterday so it must have tired him out!
I'm also on the lookout for a baby massage group- think sam would love it :)

so jealous at the 3 of you meeting up! had ellie's 6 week check today and she's 11 lb 2! delighted with that! great night again last night thank god. had her bottle at 9 and laid in her crib awake for a while happy as larry and then fell asleep and woke at 7:40 this morn. thats the second night she's done it so hopefully its a regular thing!
vik sorry your having such a crap time of it. your one that i got the cure off said to only use dr. browns bottles and gripe water and that everything else makes it worse. andf she said its not all wind either that its a form of constipation ad even though they are pooing its not enough.so she told me when making the bottles in the morn to make up 1 bottle of 6 oz of boiling water and a teaspoon of brown sugar-never white sugar- and whenever they'r getting fidgety around half an hour or hour before the feed to give them a couple of ounces and that'l make them go and take away any build up. whwn she was doing the cure she hung ellie upside down holding her by her legs then laid her over the knee on her belly and rubbed her back then lift her upside down again and lay her over the knee on her back and rub her belly and done it a few times. whenever ellie was crying with the colic then after that i done the same and it settled her. just a few suggestions for you if you want to try any.

stac14 · 24/08/2010 13:47

i use dr browns bottles they have been fab for rileigh, must try the bottle of water with sugar. The dr browns bottles are a bit expensive but boots do their own version so they may be worth a try x

vik our Sam's exactly the same. He spends all day in our arms cos as soon we put him down he wakes up. I get really fed up sometimes and DD finds it very difficult. It's hard at bedtime, we don't get the evening to ourselves and I usually end up with him sleeping on me by the morning. Even when he's awake he's not happy unless he's on me and sucking my finger (he won't take a dummy). I'm dreading 2 weeks' time when DH will be away all week for about 6 weeks and I'll be on my own with the two little ones :(

viksam · 24/08/2010 20:37

chulita its really difficult isnt it. Devon is usually only like it from about 7pm till about 10pm, but he has been bad in the day lately However we have had a really good day today. Had about 3in cut off my hair and he stayed asleep the whole time then we went to the group, its on a 4 week rolling schedule so i caught the last signing session, then for the next 4 weeks it will be baby interaction, then baby massage, then singing, then back to signing. I will defo go again, it was nice, im dead glad i went. I have put him in his bouncer now and am bouncing him with my foot rather violently and he is asleep much better than the nightly battle of the moses basket, however he will have to go in it at some point soon. DH is at band practice i might get him to do it when he gets back!
Devons hair is falling out, im gutted, i hope he doesnt end up with an egg in the nest, he looks like he is receeding all ready!

evening ladies, i did a day at work today and took lyndon with me. he was so good, so tired now, my mum loved having him there as she could show him off, then tonight we went out for half an hour on bike to charge battery and fil looked after him, he grizzled whole time then i held him and he gave me his poo stare and by the looks of the state of his nappy he had a bit of tummy ache :)
rang health visitor monday morning about Lyndons skin and she hasnt got back to me im very annoyed, according to messaghe they will call within 2 hours, think a nasty phone call will give them the kick up the arse they need!

stac14 · 24/08/2010 22:38

mlic we still have 2 and a half weeks of ultimate bb, i am into crap tv too lmao. Maybe william could be a bit collicky or overtired. Rileigh cries bout 7ish but i'm sure she just needs to sleep then. I am going to aim for 8pm to be bedtime so dp and ds and i can get some time ourselves. Oh its a juggling act

viksam that sounds like a fab group, i am looking for more groups to get me out too.

memphis does lyndon still have a rash? How did it feel to be at work?

Have you saw who they have put into ultimate big bro? It will be interesting lol x

it can be a bloody nightmare, can't it? ds is having an agitated evening of feeding manically tonight and my boobs are complete agony. have passed him to dh for a bit whose finger he's sucking instead, but this won't satisfy him forlong.

stac i really enjoyed being there yesterday, im going again today but mum is picking me up as surprise surprise our shed got done over last night so having to park car in front of doors til we get locks on it as they chopped them all!! didnt get anything though, christ i bet it sounds rough as living here! going back one day next week but mum will have lyndon!! his rash doesnt look so angry but it feels so rough, bought some oilatum bath milk and the cream as i cant stand the olive oil and it wasnt making it any better!
very jealous that your all meeting up!
tsc when does the tongue snipping happen? my friends daughter has it and they told her to stop bf ing straight away, they also dont snip tongues on out nhs, we have to drive 100 miles to another trust and pay to get it done!! funny how diferent areas are so different!

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/08/2010 08:15

Theres loads of groups here that I want to go to but just havent had the time yet!
Theres baby massage, tums to 1 (which is a group for mums and babies up to 1 years old and they start you off at the same time so everyone else in your group has a baby of the same/similar age), mother + baby, breastfeeding (which Im going to on Fri) and loads more for when he's a bit older like messy play which Im looking forward to!

Dylan slept til 1 last night, then woke up at 3 then 6:30 and has been awake since, again with the grunting and straining.
