good on you viksam for going back, glad you feel better for it. I know what you mean about finding it hard to let dp do things on their own. Dp is great but he does things differently and at times i just walk away or i would tell him off a lot lol.

Wow tsc you will need to get expressing to get your night out lol weres dd2 off to?

Its rileighs 6wk check today, typical that shes nearer 7wks though lol. Has anyone thats ff noticed lo's taking more than usual at certain times of the day? Rileigh took 8oz within 2hrs just wondered if it was a growth spurt? X

tsc its the same here, its as if he knows its a bottle and gulps it down and I have to finish him off on the boob. Am worried about going out and leaving him with expressed milk in case there isnt enough.
Will have to express every day for about a week to get enough anyway lol.

viksam · 23/08/2010 09:39

Goodness tsc yes you are! I hope u have an electric pump!
I had a shocking night, Devon went down like a dream in the evening a proper Gina Ford baby! However I payed for it at 2.30, he fed but then stayed awake through till about 4.30! then awake again at 6.30. I feel even more tired today than ever!
tsc when u say sleeping in his cot, is this in a seperate room? Has anyone else put babies in seperate rooms yet? Its the grunting i cant deal with. This is why he was up in the night, he is awake while he is doing it, and no matter how much i tuck the sheets in he still gets his arms free which i think keeps him awake as they flail around everywhere. I did swaddle him at one point but that just made him cry!As i said he has been awake since 6.30 but still refuses to sleep at 8.30-9 so he misses his morning sleep but then wants to sleep after his 10am feed, its all topsy turvey.
Hold on......i just put him in his swing, which we have hardly used as he is so small, and he cried so out of desperation i turned it up full and its quite a swing and he has gone to sleep!!! I wonder how long u can leave them in there for????????

viksam · 23/08/2010 09:48

stac yes defo, in the night i had to come and warm up another bottle as he wanted more, ok so he only had 20ml but its what finished him off in the end, it took me ages to realise thats maybe what he wanted as he wasnt rooting or giving any signs. I upped him to 150ml last week and think im going to up the evening and 3amish feed to 180ml which acording to the formula box is for 8-12wk olds!! He's 5 wks on thursday but people have said that A) he is a boy and they are good feeders and B)he was small at birth so maybe making up for it, and C) We had a rocky start re BF so may not have got enough then.
Oh bless him he is still asleep, i have turned the swing down to the lowest which is quite gentle so i guess its ok to leave him in there for a while, i wonder if i transfer him tohis moses......do i dare??

viksam · 23/08/2010 11:52

Glad the wedding was nice memphis
tsc u must have a big bedroom! I can hardly fit the moses in next to me, defo couldnt fit the cotbed in.
Devon has now been crying in his moses for 3 mins and i hate it but he is so tired and has only cat napped on and off since 6.30 this morning........he MUST be tired musnt he?? I can see him on the monitor and his head it at the top of his basket, im sure he would be happier in his cot...........gosh he is really going for it, im going to have to go to him...TUT, i was just going to try and lie down myself, where has the morning gone??

The HV has just been, Dylan now weighs 11lb 6 and he's 6 weeks and 3 days old.
Also I did the test for post natal depression and I dont have it which is good and what I thought anyway.

He's also just done the Eat, Activity, Sleep method to a tee! Now I can have lunch and a bit of me time.

stac i went to dennistoun library- if you go to www.getglasgowreading.com you should get details of where they all are. we are also going to one in springburn on thursday as this is local for me. Thats great about rileigh's 6 week check :)

This rain is driving me potty today- really want to go out for walk with sam and the dog but the thought of getting so wet is putting me off- i know sam will be fine under rain cover and i can get changed when i get home but really can't be bothered! poor doggy :(

OH- ment to ask, has anyone had a period yet? sam is 5 weeks today and i've been feeling really crampy yesterday and today- also eating everything in sight and generally feeling premenstrual! thought i might get a bit longer without one :(

stac14 · 23/08/2010 18:09

becky i've had one since the 14th august hun so it could be. Its not very heavy but a pain in the bum. They are supposed to have one at castlemilk library so i'l check it out online. Do you and violet fancy meeting up to go to one of them? I can travel with to you's x

stac thats a great idea. What ones suit you? I'm busy tuesday and thursday this week and tues next week- all other days free so far :)

stac14 · 23/08/2010 20:41

need to go have a look, is there one on friday? X

OP posts:
viksam · 23/08/2010 21:05

becky u sound so positive, i have to say I felt quite the opposite earlier on. I had a really BAD day untill 2pm when Devon finally slept and so did i. I spent about an hour crying and feeling like i couldnt cope at all, then i got a good hour and a half sleep and I feel like a different person. DH is up there right now assisting Devon to sleep, he is really crying and I hate it loads, but Im leaving him to it for my own sanity!
I feel a bit crampy i must admit.
stac I thought hungry milk was for when ur ready to ween? I have no idea though.
My god, my boy just wont settle today, again im listening to him crying. I really dont know what im doing wrong??I bath him and dry him and we have a lovely quiet time, then he has a bottle and falls asleep in his bouncer untill we try and put him down and he just screams and cries for hours. Only if we are holding him does he stop. I have to admit im really struggling at the moment.

stac14 · 23/08/2010 21:07

I just had a look, there are loads on friday this week, does any of them suit you and violet? x

OP posts:
stac14 · 23/08/2010 21:09

viksam does he have colic? Collicky babies like being held as it soothes them, I know the hv said Rileigh would prefersitting in her bouncer due to her reflux. Try not to be disheartened hun, sometimes they are just unsettled. x

OP posts:
viksam · 23/08/2010 21:19

stac i have no idea, i guess so, i am giving him infacol at every feed and winding him really well too. I guess its a phase and we should just hold him for a while untill it it passes. I think we are stressing ourselves out even more by trying to put him down in his moses.

stac friday morning is good for me- my knowledge of glasgow areas is not great! are there any fairly central? don't really recognise the areas! have the car and a map so can go to whatever one you think!

Thanks viksam -yes i am feeling very positive just now- sam is a great wee sleeper so i think it makes a huge difference. Sorry to hear your struggling- its so horrible when they don't settle- rips your heart out :( hope he settles soon so you can have somemore rest.

right off i'm to bed- DH is doing 1st night feed, got 220ml expressed in fridge so that will hopefull be enough! don't mind him wakening me if its not tho :)
