mylife I have exactly the same thing with him just having a bit out of the bottle. How long do u keep the same bottle going for? The HV told me to discard a used bottle half and hour after its been used, what do u do?
Well he went down at 8.30 and is still asleep now, going to wake him in a bit if he doesnt wake on his own, at this time of night i do the same, waking him up properly and changing his nappy etc so that he feeds properly.

mlic i must admit i'm looking forward to going out but i am knackered lol. I'm the same as you and don't disgard bottles after 20mins, i read somewhere it was 2hrs and formula is expensive. Also my son had made up bottles and it hasnt caused him any problems, he wasnt sickly or anything yet rileigh is Confused and i make her bottles as needed. Hope your day gets better hun x

hello ladies, im back from cornwall, was only supposed to go down there until wednesday but dh ended up being away all week so i stayed, my brother loved Lyndon, and by the end of the week he was talking about having children!!! was lovely having all my family there to take over in the day so i could rest up a bit, he became quite sicky and i had to buy and also handwash clothes as my bro's washer packed up!! Lyndon started smiling this week, which made me upset that his daddy missed it. he was so pleased to see us when we got home, but trip has made me feel quite empowered, 300 mile journey alone with baby proves i can do stuff so not full of self doubt any more!
hope your all ok and got nice weekends planned, i have the wedding where we have to leave baby next week, its come round too quick and i havent got a dress yet!!!

stac14 · 14/08/2010 09:47

Angry why do men have to spoil everything? As you know lo is staying at my aunts because we're going out for my birthday, when she comes home i was hoping for some family time with lo, dp and ds but dp wants to take her to his mums. I know it sounds petty and selfish but i'm going to miss her loads so kind of want to keep her to myself. Even if i went to mil's with dp, she just takes over and i'm left feeling like a spare part. Dp keeps saying lo's the only enjoyment his mum has but thats nonsense, his mum chooses to act older than she is. Sorry ladies its a long, selfish rant but he is really annoying me.

memphis thats fab, sounds like you have more confidence in yourself and that you had a great time too. I bet dh missed you both loads. What you doing this weekend? Has lyndons sickness calmed down? X

aw memphis you sound like you done really well! glad you enjoyed it! how's lyndons sickness now?
stac if you want to keep her there then keep her. its probably not too often that the 4 of you get alone time together so just explain it. or else just let him take her for just an hour and then you have the rest of the day to yourselves?dont let it ruin your night out though
well haven't had the time to post the last few days. im just physically drained. been a really tough week with dp getting this operation.he's not able to do anything so i've had to drive up and down to dublin twice, deal with ellie, im working a good bit this week, constantly having to fetch things for dp, keep on top of housework and then deal with her colic every evening. was actually in tears on wednesday night i was so tired and wasnt getting any help from anyone despite being in my mums for 3 days. also ellie decided to stop sleeping through the night this week.Confused. so my mum actually finally realised how tired i was and came up to help me last night. she kept ellie in with her so at least i got a bit of decent sleep. just cant wait til dp is back on his feet again.

viks tricky 6 weeks is supposed to be for all babies, they supposedly settle down a bit after that. And for you and mlic, you could still go to the BF group, I've not bf'd since October but DD and I kept going cos we made friends. Our group actively encourages people to come even if they're not bfing, you both gave it a go anyway so you've got experience. Might be worth going along if you got on with some people there. We've got a lady who comes who never bf'd at all.

mlic I know bf babies wake up more often anyway but Sam's the same at night, he doesn't feed more than 10 mins and then wakes up an hour later. I can't wind him either cos he's asleep and just won't shift it...but then as soon as I put him down he's awake cos he's on his back full of wind. It's a never-ending battle and I'm always soooo happy when daybreaks!

dh what dummy are you using? I've tried 2 types and Sam doesn't like either of them.

memphis well done you! I remember the first time I took DD on the train by myself, a 4 hour journey with huge backpack and buggy, I was so chuffed that I hadn't let a baby stop me, lol!

stac if you don't want her to go, don't let her. She's still very young and she's your little girly! Granny will have plenty of time to get to know her...

kkfairy I hope your DP gets better quickly so he can help you out and that Ellie starts sleeping through again.

Chulita · 14/08/2010 17:24

I just uploaded a pic of Samson if anyone's interested.
Can't wait to get into my pre-pg trousers, I'm too small for maternity but can't get into my old ones yet...grr!

memphis83 · 14/08/2010 17:47

chulita he looks ovely and got a full face, Lyndon finally looks like a bit of a pudding i lok it when their cheeks fill out, cant wait to get him in 0-3 hes well into the 10 pound now but they still bury him!!!
stac and kk Lyndons sickness really eased off no projectile vomit all week just lots of mucus like when he was born on the last day! hes a very tummy achey baby, considered changing his milk but looking at boxes hes on the gentlist unless i go for a soy based one or the colic and constipation one but he has neither of those so will talk to hv when i see her!
stac hope you have a lovely night out, i agree with chulita if you dont want lo to go dont let her! dh missed us both, i had him on loudspeaker and he was looking around for his daddy then when i put phone down he cried!! were having a quality time weekend as a family, i picked up mum from airport while he picked up yet another bike!! so its a curry and dvd tonight!
kk i hope he gets on his feet soon and when he is he waits on you a bit!!

tsc he is SO sweet!

chulita he is gorgeous, Ive also got 'moses basket envy', Dylan will not sleep in his AT ALL!
Going to save it for the next one Wink

I think I may have solved my breast pump issue, it was just that on the one I bought there is a white valve between the pump and bottle and the milk wasnt getting past but DP said I hadnt opened up the hole enough so hoping thats what the problem was.

Going to express tomoro morning so he can do a feed, happy days!

Chulita · 14/08/2010 20:40

Lol tsc :) Loving those cheeks! That's where he's putting all your milk! He'll settle down (as you know) 3-4 more weeks and you'll both be happy as larry, just have to grizz it out. If you are getting thrush seriously get it sorted though, I'm fighting it here and it's sooo painful - not worth risking it setting in imo. Moses basket was a £10 ebay steal, DD barely slept in hers, Sam only spends about 3 hours out of 24 in his so I'm glad it wasn't more expensive...

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/08/2010 20:43

Also have uploaded a pic of Dylan, hes 5 weeks now but was only about 3 weeks in the photo but its just such a cute photo!

Its my chest he's laying on too lol.

chulita Im using Avent ones, sometimes he takes it and sometimes he doesnt, just depends on his mood I guess.
I dont really mind I suppose its better than him being dependent on it.

munchkinland · 15/08/2010 04:38

So I'm back! Georgia is settled a bit now and life is slowly getting back to normal (if you call sitting up with a baby clamped to your boob at 3 .57am "normal" which I know most of you do!!)
I have been keeping up with the thread just not had time to post!
I am being really lucky at the moment although Georgia is only 2 weeks old so still plenty of time to change!! She is feeding well, I have managed to get her into a rough pattern of every 4 hours I do the same as some others and stave her off with a dummy in between which is really working for us. I know, BAD mummy, but tbh it works and we are both happy so I don't care!! Plus I get to have a decent sleep!!!
You all sound as though you are doing well, in my opinion, noone knows your baby as well as you so any choices you make About bfing/dummies etc. Are the right ones, just do it with confidence and your baby will respond :]

viksam · 15/08/2010 07:45

memphis Im so glad ur mamouth journey went well and u feel empowered, i could do with regaining that feeling with LO in tow, we are heading up to brum in two weeks so that will be our long journey,it will be interesting.
DH Chulita Swwwwwweeeeeeeeeeettttt, i love seeing baby pics, DH he looks like he looked on ur 20wk scan!!
DH I have the TT pump, thats probably rightabout the valve, also i was worried about taking the handle off, well pulling it to one side, to clean it but it does click off and back on again, i wasnt being strong enough.
Re the evening, i seem to be having the same problems with LO. According to Gina Ford he is supposed to go down at 7 till 10ish.......no chance, he feeds really well during the day and he did feed well last night but just doesnt want to settle hense been up since 5.15 trying to placate him. Hes not crying or sucking hands/dummy/bottle hes just grunting and talking and occasionaly crying out, i just think he needs to do a poo or a giant jam tart!! god love him!
Stac Was it ur night out last night? if so how was it?
mylife So how long do u keep the bottles in the fridge for? I have this microwave steriliser which does 4 bottles, so i fill all 4 with boiling water, leave them on the side then add formula as and when i need to and gently heat, someone else on here does it this way, it seems ok the only thing is im not adding the formula to boiling water, does anyone think this is a problem?
Also lo is three weeks and 2 days, my stitches have healed well and apart from this tail bone problem everythings ok, however i have a bleeding issue. I havent bled for 2 days then all of a sudden when i was feeding lo at 4 this morning i had a sudden gush of blood? very weird. This is the third or fourth time i have dried up then started up again, any ideas anyone?
