ninah - I ate the melon and grapes too!!!! so now I've eaten more than normal!!!

George, when I had my test done I had to drink a glucose solution that was provided by the hospital. I had to eat nothing after 9.30pm in the evening(Ie 10 hours before test). I had to drink the glucose at 7.30am and the hospital had to have taken my blood by 9.30am. It was a complete must that they took my blood 2 hours after I had the sugar drink - so at least I wasn't kept hanging around. Then they sent me off to get something to eat whilst I waited for the results which took an hour.

Flutter - we have been told by the hospital that they are 85% sure we're having a boy. He will be called Lucas Benjamin. I really hope they confirm this at my next scan in Oct as dh and I CANNOT agree on girls names so we need some warning if it is gonna be a girl - Oh and dd will be shocked if her little brother arrive with a vital piece of anatomy missing

george32 · 19/09/2005 15:50

Sh, melon & grapes don't count as food, they are far too healthy!

Lovely name SH, think I must have missed yours before.

No idea of sex here either Flutter. We have agreed on 3 names so far; Poppy, Jake or Joe (although still looking for more!). I'm convinced it's a boy (argh!! more testosterone!) but the heartbeat was over 150 last week - isn't that an indicator of a girl - plus it sounds like a horse (girl again???)

ninah · 19/09/2005 15:56

what, it was whinnying?!

george32 · 19/09/2005 15:59

PMSL

It gets excited if I sniff carrots or sugar lumps too.

sweetheart · 19/09/2005 16:00

eh? Am I being thick? Whats whinnying?

ninah · 19/09/2005 16:01

horse noises, dear

ninah · 19/09/2005 16:02

to be fair george meant the heartbeat

sweetheart · 19/09/2005 16:02

lol - yeah, ok. I am being thick!!!

Yes horse is a girl btw - just remember galloping girl!!

scully · 19/09/2005 16:03

gosh, I must need to go home soon, had to re-read george's post to make sense of ninah's
our current shortlist for either sex is Conor (not sure of spelling yet), Finn, Jacob, Daniel and Jack or Abigail (Abby), Grace, Madeline and Georgia. Can see a boy's name being decided on sooner after the birth than a girl's name though.

scully · 19/09/2005 16:03

not just me then sh

ninah · 19/09/2005 16:05

why do you think it's a boy, george?

expatinscotland · 19/09/2005 16:05

Wish I knew what I was having. But man, my skin and hair are SO greasy! Yuk. Good thing I have a supply of Proactiv to hand. Didn't have this w/DD.

ninah · 19/09/2005 16:06

no ignore me I'm being silly today
so thrilled about my friend's baby I can't tell you - leaving in about half an hour! yay

ei23mummy · 19/09/2005 16:07

we dont know what were having flutter as the bub had its legs crossed for the entirety of the scan!! so i think im having a boy as iv had nothing but probs with this pg- so i like to think its the bub being awkward like its daddy!! plus were still undecided on a girls name but have settled on a boys (adam louis) which we had chosen since i was seven weeks pg!! its a sign!!
iv spent the past hour watching telly and eating chocolate limes and pickled onion crisp so not healthy eating here either!!

george32 · 19/09/2005 16:08

LOL at the pregnancy brains on us all!

I'm not a very girly girl Ninah so can't believe I could be carrying one. I'm sure I'm destined to be surrounded by boys in our house, football and boy films with no escape into a land of barbie pink for me!!

ninah · 19/09/2005 16:09

hm
odds on greasy, anyone?

expatinscotland · 19/09/2005 16:10

My tomboy aunt has 5 daughters.

My prissy, ultra-fem cousin has 3 sons.

scully · 19/09/2005 16:11

I can't stand barbie, unfortunately dd has recently discovered her......but I shall resist for a very long time buying one of those awful dolls
closest she has got is a barbie computer, gift from her cousin. our friends all laugh as they know I wouldn't have bought it

ninah · 19/09/2005 16:12

oh I see
Well I am girly-ish and I live in a house like that too george! wall to wall match of the day and trainers. Do love my boys tho
nice name, Ei!

george32 · 19/09/2005 16:12

If it is a girl, the room is being painted pink straight away!!

Opposite problem for me Expat, I have a head of straw at the moment.

ninah · 19/09/2005 16:13

I AM NOT EXPAT's COUSIN! honest!

george32 · 19/09/2005 16:13

Scully, don't really like Barbie here either but after 6 years of boys I'm desperate for something girly!!

ninah · 19/09/2005 16:14

god I am so like that george
I am even considering 'flesh tones' for a boy!

george32 · 19/09/2005 16:16

I'm sure no-one would notice if we have boys & dress them like girls for a bit!!

sweetheart · 19/09/2005 16:16

I have to admit I did enjoy decorating dd's room. It's a lilac and pink fairy theme.

The nursery is beige and brown, but if we'd had it confirmed it was a girl - would have gone with the pink too
