was spooning in bed with D last night and he felt the kick in his back,

scully · 19/09/2005 14:03

dd was 8 days early so I didn't want to take any chances with this one and have to get back to Surrey if my waters did break
But if this one is also breech and c-section is booked then that will be done a week early, which only gives me 2wks at home beforehand
nemo, did the physio have children? Doesn't sound like it.......great advice in theory though
I was struggling with a trolley in tesco's yesterday, with dd in it, so can understand not wanting you to do that bit. Maybe try and find some vouchers where you can get your groceries delivered for free from one of the supermarkets perhaps - what I want to do in Dec/Jan after this one arrives, especially if I have a c-section and can't drive for 6wks

Thomcat · 19/09/2005 14:03

I gave in my maternity lreave notice today.
Decided my last day would be 5 Dec, purely becuase I'll have 1 week at home on my own, then 1 week at home with lottie who'll have broken up from school and then the baby is due. Although am planning on this one being early!!!!!

Have my 2nd ever appt with my midwife on Friday.
The mole is non stop moving and other than not as easy to carry Lottie around and bend over and pick things up off floor I'm feeling really good.

Love to you all.

kangel. How much are you selling your car for if you don't mind me asking. Dh and I went to a mini show last summer (dh's 1st car was a mini) and he would love to get one. I was going to buy him an old one for xmas - something he can do up like the ones he saw at the show. He'll need a project once he's finished the decorating list I've got for him

DQ - your dh sounds like he's been fab. Perhaps you could give him a little treat for being so sympathetic.

Nemo - how practical were those outfits for adam? Dh and I tend to stick to baby grows for babies as they seem comfy in them. I thought I'd buy those outfits for 3-6 months so they get a decent amount of wear - what do you think?

There's alot of chatter on here about partner/husbands, emotions etc. I think it's safe to say that even though this is an ante-natal thread we have known each other for nearly 6 months now and the friendships we have formed are based on alot more than just the fact we're all pregnant. The fact that some people have problems just make them even more real to me and I'd hate to think that anyone felt they couldn't share stuff here.

Nuff said.....

kangel · 19/09/2005 14:04

Same here Ninah, I want as much time off after too. If my waters broke in the office it would bring some atmosphere to this fast becoming ghost town - Besides I'd love to see my colleagues face, it would be a picture

Nemo1977 · 19/09/2005 14:06

scully will just be sending dh for the shopping....on physios orders Dont think she did have kids..lol

TC glad everything is going well for you

SH I loved the outfits adams first one was when he was 4wks old as we took him for pics in mothercare..lol Very sweet they are if I do say so myself. The top is just like a vest you popper on underneath and then put top over and the pants.

ei23mummy · 19/09/2005 14:10

dq, nemo, im already there in spirit helpin you girls out!! iv now become addicted to the september thread and am so that theyr near to/already got their babies!! its like a soap!! this little one living in my belly seems to find it highly amusing to dance on my bladder and/or 'lady-bits'!! its so uncomfortable sometimes!! like its already trying to burrow out!!
iv just been informed that due to this infection iv got- and depending on test results next week- i might be forced to start my mat leave on the 10th oct instead of the 27th nov!! grrrrr
as my next placement is on a high dependency kidney transplant unit i may be dangerous to the patients as they are already immuno-suppressed!! this is not good news imo!! also the consultant seems to think that it may affect the type of delivery that i want/am allowed to have- ie i may have to have a planned ceasarian instead of the all natural route i was planning on!! iv gotta wait til next wed for the official verdict!!

Thomcat · 19/09/2005 14:13

i feel bad that I';m no good at keeping up with you all and I don't pop on and chat more. Sorry girls.
Life is just so hectic, good but hectic.

i'm visiting schools for lottie, sorting out her disability allowance, getting a new car through the disability allowance scheme thing, getting house valued and looking for a new one, thinking about the home birth I want, sorting out my personal tax, making appts for lottie to have her ears tested, getting her provate speech and language, seeing midwife, arranging to see and seeing friends, thinking about boirthday presents and xmas presents, need nursery furniture, need to clear nursery of all doms studio bits and his recortds etc, buy a double buggy, start lottie on a gluten free diet, and then there's my paid work, got a national press screening today and clients on my case! And they are just the things that are on my mind today!

Is everyone else liket his? i'm not paniking, just head full of things I thnk of and think, right yeah, must start looking into that.

sweetheart · 19/09/2005 14:14

Nemo - perhaps I'll have to buy those outfits in 0-3 months too then

Ei - sorry to hear things aren't going to plan your end. I know what you mean about the Dec thread though. My SIL is due next Sunday and I'm on tender hooks waiting for her baby to arrive. She's normally early so it will probably be some time this week!!!!

Blimey - if I'm this excited about hers arriving I'll be climbing the walls come the last week of November

kangel · 19/09/2005 14:18

SH - Its currently up for £5395, I have already dropped it from £5600. Its not a project car though as its been done up from head to toe - would link you to my add but am absolutly clueless as to how to do it. Its a real boy racer car with strobes, tinted windows, spoiler etc.... IYKWIM

Am selling my private number plate too - I didn't realise it was worth as much as it is otherwise would keep it.

sweetheart · 19/09/2005 14:22

yes kangel - was thinking more along the lines of £100 lol

I think you car is what he would aim for as a finished product!!

kangel · 19/09/2005 14:25

lol - SH

ninah · 19/09/2005 14:25

OMG great news, one of my best friends had a baby boy last night, 7lb 4oz, Reuben!
Going straight up there after work with ds! wow! this time last week she was helping me with ds party! so excited!
My god sh have we really been on here 6 months! yes I spose we have! no wonder I feel so fond of you all

george32 · 19/09/2005 14:26

OMG, I've only been gone a couple of hours - you guys can talk today!!

I know I should stay here when I'm feeling down DQ. I tried to post quite a few times but just kept giving up part way through. I had a very calm weekend though so I think the tablets are kicking in Really lovely to actually start getting on with DP again, it makes such a difference to him & us when I'm in a good mood. I bet you feel so much better for gettting all your worries out.

Ei, how awful for you. I hope you get some good news on Wednesday.

Can't move as I've eaten so much. I'm going to have to roll round the office to get anywhere this afternoon.

ei23mummy · 19/09/2005 14:31

Isuppose if i do have to have a c-s then ill know exactly when the baby will be here for!! always a silver lining....

ei23mummy · 19/09/2005 14:33

does anyone think it may be time for a new thread?? this one is getting sooooooooo long!!! were so chatty!!

sweetheart · 19/09/2005 14:43

ohhh yeah - I'd 2nd a new thread!!

flutterbee · 19/09/2005 14:45

Woke up this morning feeling like crap and decided not to go to work spoke to DH and he said he doesn't mind if I choose not to go back especially as I am unable to walk without pain at the moment and the brace I have been wearing for 4 weeks now is doing no good. So all day I have been practasing my smug smile for when I hand my Dr's note in and say goodbye to the witches, best thing is they don't know that I'm not coming back after my maternity leave yet, oh I feel another smug smile coming on..........

The rest of today shall be spent eating anything and everything as at 7 o'clock I have to stop eating because of a glucose test I have at the hospital tomorrow, nothing but water for me until about lunch tomorrow. I really hope that the test is negative the thought of giving up chocolate at the moment does not bare thinking about

sweetheart · 19/09/2005 14:54

flutter - don't let them butcher you at the hospital like they did me last week. My arm was swollen for 2 days and my arm is still bright purple with bruising!! Great news on the work front - bet you'd love to see their faces eh!!

I brought a pot of melon and grape at lunchtime to ward off my mid afternoon choc craving - she says as she sits typing with a milky way hanging out her mouth

scully · 19/09/2005 14:56

ei, that's not great news but at least you have a while to get your head around it all, if you do need a c-section. I had that last time, but only found at 37wks that I would probably need a c-section They aren't as bad as you think though, and apart from not being able to drive, I wouldn't be at all stressed if I needed to have another one this time.
You do sound busy tc! It's terrible but I sometimes forget I'm pregnant, I feel like so much is going on in my head right now......

scully · 19/09/2005 14:58

love the milky way comment sh
about to go to tesco's to see what I can get to eat.......

flutterbee · 19/09/2005 15:04

As I've joined this msg board so late I feel I have missed out on finding out what sex babies we are all expecting (if you found out) sorry if this is repeating previous discussions but I just want to know, also any name ideas yet.

I'm having (should be having) a little boy and he will be called George Nicholas, there will also be a Ghanaian name added on the end as my DH is from Ghana however I can't tell you this yet as it is tradition in Ghana for the name to be decided by the day the baby is born. Don't ask me why I'm just an ignorant uncultured English girl

ninah · 19/09/2005 15:05

you bad girl
so where's the melon and grape, in the fridge!

george32 · 19/09/2005 15:14

Another George.....what great taste you have!!

I've got to have the glucose test in a couple of weeks time. Can you eat at any time during the morning? I get sick if I don't eat pretty early on so I was thinking of taking something with me if I can eat. I'm in trouble if they ban me from eating choccy!! I'm going to have to have stern words with my mum about being diabetic & making me have the test.

SH, big tube of Smarties on my desk this afternoon!!

flutterbee · 19/09/2005 15:20

George (its hard to say/type that name without looking at my huge bump) the leaflet I got for the test states ---- Apart from water, you must not have ANYTHING to eat or drink from supper time the night before the test until the test has finished.
They also underlined it so I suppose I ought to take them seriously I have to check into hospital at 8.30am and will probably be there unitl lunch, the bit I am dreading most is drinking Lucozade I hate the stuff it makes me throw up when I'm not pregnant so God knows what effect it will have tomorrow.

scully · 19/09/2005 15:32

flutter, no idea of sex or name think maybe it's a boy, but maybe that's because it's my slight preference to have one, already having dd.....dd does think she's having a brother though, so v curious to see if she's right
well I could sound healthy and say I bought a yoghurt from tesco's - I did, just one of those muller corner ones with mcvites chocolate digestive balls to add to the yoghurt - hmmmm
