OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
scully · 19/09/2005 10:12

yes, my age will also change on Sunday, but not so stressed if it isn't updated
treated myself yesterday afternoon and watched the entire series of Pride & Prejudice on UKGold - sad I know, but not often I get near the remote on the weekend......
Amazing what you can do in ad breaks, cooked dd's dinner, dressed her after bath with dh, read 4 books, swept the bedrooms, hung up washing etc etc. Mind you it did run for 6hrs , but at least dd slept for 1.5hrs at the beginning and 1hr at the end
Hope things improve for you Ninah, come and have moan anytime, better than bottling it up.
Welcome Flutter, & good work on the diy Nemo! Our carpet people also rang yesterday and said it had arrived, so when did we want it fitted
How about after the spare room walls have been prepared, painted and the existing carpet ripped up! So we're aiming for 3/10, gives dh a couple of weeks to get his act together

kangel · 19/09/2005 10:52

Morning all,

Hope you had good weekends - I had a really bad weekend, spent the whole time arguing with DP and still am. Just can't take the stress of everything anymore feel like my world has fallen apart and I don't know why I feel like this. What makes things worse is that DP has Ulcerative Collitis which can be set off by stress, hes at home in agony coz of our fighting so guess who feels like they are getting the blaime!

Anyway I don't want to bring a downer on this thread.

Is anyone else really stuck on SS ideas?

george32 · 19/09/2005 11:19

Oh Kangel, I'm so sorry you are arguing with your DP. It seems to be such a tough time for all of us at the moment. I guess our bodies go through so many changes that our heads don't know if they are coming or going.

I've finished buying my secret stork pressie, just need to pick a day to send it now!
I just chosen things that I would really like to get (apologies to whoever I'm sending to!!!)

Quick question, anyone know if I can use Bonjela?
I keep getting mouth ulcers at the moment (hmmmm, run down do we think??)

kangel · 19/09/2005 11:37

George - you got it so right, I feel like a stranger in my own body. These hormones aren't very nice to us are they. They turn us into over emotional monsters. Somthing to make you all laugh - I got so upset and stressed out on Saturday night because next doors cat had a mouse that was still alive so I sent DP out to resue it......anyway the cat ran off with the mouse and I was so upset over this mouse I cried and cried and was angry with DP for not catching it!! I sent him out to try and find it and to resue it but it was too late

I think i'll get loads of little things for my SS instead of 1 thing. I hope they like my choice though.

Did anyone else hear on the radio that they predict a really really cold winter. Wouldn't it be so cool and extra special if we all got a white christmas

sweetheart · 19/09/2005 12:03

Nemo - great news you can still go to physio - lets hope they help you out!

scully, george - ladies, you are making me tired with all this diy talk!!! Just the thought of it all.

Kangel - sorry your having a bda time with your dh. Perhaps the two of you could go out for a nice meal or something, releave some of the stress.

I'm and that some of you are so close to starting you mat leave - I wish I could say the same. I don't finish until 11th Nov and it can't come quick enough for me. I just wish I could sleep for the next 2 months.

Well, looks like we could be in for a chatty day so I'm gonna grap a cuppa and some biscuits and settle in for the day

kangel · 19/09/2005 12:12

SH - your not alone. My Maternity leave doesn't start till 1st December although if my body lets me I will try and push it to 9th December. I too am that everyone will be at home soon.

ebbie22 · 19/09/2005 12:16

I am at home though and that isnt always a gd thing....gLAD EVERYONE IS OK,APART FROM THE ODD MOMENTS,I AM REAL DIZZY TODAY AND HAVE JUST GOT MY AVON order all packed and ready to go,but i just wanna sit and chat...

scully · 19/09/2005 12:25

Kangel, someone who's maternity leave starts after mine . I only finish 9wks this Friday (25/11), but I'm sure the guys I work with would rather see the back of my hormones before that
& SH's idea of a meal or something might help Kangel. I relax a lot more when I'm away from the house and am not reminded of what still needs to be done......
I think my hormones are worse this time, maybe because I'm just not getting any time to myself at all, like I did with the first pregnancy. I packed off dh and dd to a bbq on Sat and I joined them 2hrs later. 2hrs in the house on my own was lovely, but apart from the relexologist I think it is the only time I've been on my own for the entire pregnancy But the whole world was driving me batty last week so dh knew not to argue with my suggestion of me coming later

sweetheart · 19/09/2005 12:27

scully - yes being away from the house does help you relax doesn't it.

I also find that I'm less likely to shout at dh when I'm in public too That alone helps avoid the arguments we would have if we were at home alone!!!

kangel · 19/09/2005 12:34

That didn't seem to help yesterday - We managed to have a shouting match accross Homebase car park yesterday! I snapped at him and I think it shocked him so much that I snapped sooooo loadly that everyone turned round! bless I was soooo nasty - oops!

I'm getting so stressed out about selling my car - its needs to go but have had no takers, its not like its rubbish, its a done up classic mini cooper, its my baby but it has to go before bubs arrives.

Scully - I'll be sitting at my desk right till the end.

george32 · 19/09/2005 12:34

If it makes everyone feel better I'm only finishing early because of the travelling. Once I get into work I'm OK. Kangel, that seems so late!! Hope you're not early

Right I have to go & get more food.
Anyone got any idea on the Bonjela front before I go out? Should I just buy it anyway, can't see it's got much in it to do the little one harm!

kangel · 19/09/2005 13:11

Not sure on the bonjella front - but it tastes YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

scully · 19/09/2005 13:12

Sorry george, no idea about bonjela. maybe the nhs helpline might know?
sh, did laugh at your 'in public' comment, although I have got better at not caring where I am this pregnancy, when I have something on my mind
Know that feeling kangel, also feel like I will be here until the very end.....finishing 3wks before this time, last time was 2wks before, but thought I better have the extra week this time around. Good think too, seeing how long it's taking me to do anything now, let alone in Nov/Dec.....
This is completely off the subject, but anyone in the Surrey/Hampshire area, there will be a photographer at Mothercare in Aldershot this week, finishing on Sat. Looking at taking dd there, to get some snaps done to include with Xmas presents.

Nemo1977 · 19/09/2005 13:19

aww to people who are working right up till D day..I did that with adam and finished week before he was due but he had other plans and came 15 days over so ended up with 3 wks before..lol

Hugs to kangel have you tried putting car on ebay?

Went to physio and it was ok, quite funny as she has basically told me
not to sit
not to stand
not to turn
not to bend
not to lift
not to go out shopping
not to push trollies or prams
not to have ds by myself..soo that leaves?????????????????????????LOL
Have got the good old support belt and tubi grip for a night and she has told me to see how I do for 2 weeks and then they may consider crutches which I dont want cos with adam would be a nightmare.
However more importantly the carpet is in and the room looks fab...ooo soo excited cant wait for dh to come home and then he can put wardrobe together..lol

sweetheart · 19/09/2005 13:33

Nemo snap - was going to suggest Ebay to kangel too - great minds eh

Just been into town and seen the most cute outfits in Next for a little boy!!! I normally go all gushy over the girls stuff but these were sooooo sweet. Little polo shirts with tank tops over!!!

I've been on the hunt for my stork gift too. I'm just about to do some research on my lady, see what ideas I can get from all her posts on MN

ei23mummy · 19/09/2005 13:37

kangel · 19/09/2005 13:37

E.bay will be my next target, its on miniworld and auto trader at the moment. Its a fantastic car that is just after a loving home

dramaqueen72 · 19/09/2005 13:46

ladiesyou can talk! lovely to catch up with everyone.
welcome aboard flutter:0
george, please dont go when youre down and having a bad few days, stay and talk even if its 'feeling low' conversations.i know its not good to go into yourself and hide when sad. we love you here, dont you forget it!
nemo, envious on all bedroom and nursery nearly done. you lucky cow you! and I KNEW the physio would say those things...thsi is why i havent gone! arent they silly? dont do that or that or that.er.....hello? we are mummies and busy ones at that!

totally borke down the other day, all my little bad days came to a head. and poured out a load of my worries (mostly ridiculous ones!) to dh. who has been fantastic since. event ho my worries went from serious money concerns to christmas gift buying is stressing me out, he never once dismissed anything. I do love him sometimes. can someone please remind me when hes being a lazy arse next??
s/h I'm glad youve found cute boys stuff-go buy it!!......i havent really connected with anything yet, girls or boys.altho as you all know I'm convinced this is a boy in here........
ninah, I'm sorry about your p, but am glad you can feel free to say so out loud on this thread, like nemo says, altho we are 'due in dec ladies' I care about much more than just your bumps, want to know how you all are too. take it easy on yourself.
george i am sure that ulcer stuff is fine, if you dont exceed the rec. dose, btw.

Nemo1977 · 19/09/2005 13:46

lol kangel she actually told me to lie down often which is funny as I kept telling her that I have a near 2 yr old so thats nigh on imposisble..lol

SH I had a few of those little outfits with the wool tank tops over for adam...he looked blooming lovely in them if i do say so myself..lol I have kept them just in case of boy..lol

dramaqueen72 · 19/09/2005 13:47

ei -would you like to come and do my hosuework now then? spent morning trailing round town and am shattered. can even move to make cup of tea......let alone washing and dusting and all that marlarkey........

Nemo1977 · 19/09/2005 13:48

ooo ei your not far away are you...got a whole room of toys and stuff to move if your not busy

ninah · 19/09/2005 13:49

kangel car sounds great! used to have a little Mini city, really lovely cars. Good luck and hope you sell it. sorry you have having rows, know what you mean have to admit the Homebase carpark is a stressful place to be tho! agree with those who say take time out to do nice things for you and dp. Mouse story did make me laugh!
I thought hormones were sposed to settle down by now! I feel OK tbh, my p is the hormonal one.
Oh nemo, what a list of can't do's! did physio know you have a toddler pmsl?!
I am working up til 16th Dec - like Adam my first was late so I'm banking on this one doing the same. Only do a desk job, so less effort being at work than being at home!

dramaqueen72 · 19/09/2005 13:55

wow ninah, impressed with your working so far in pg, hope theres no waters breaking at work!! i get very edgey around a week or so beforehand 'just incase'.....my best friedn is a teacher.she was emailing me from her classroom saying 'I think I'm having contractions.....' and sure enough, a few hours after last class left she gave birth!!!!!
and nope, I can say for Certain theres no letting up on these hormones now..they kinda increase until birth -and then you get baby blues anyway!

ninah · 19/09/2005 13:58

I know, but I want loads of time with new baby and ds afterwards! I just have it in my head we're a 'late' kind of family ...
There would be loads of people at work to help out, too!

kangel · 19/09/2005 13:59

DQ - Oooooppppspss, any offers on telling that to my DP?!
