Hi All

This is the new thread taking over from "Feb 2011... Where only us and a select few know"

So sad that not everyone will be joining us on the new thread but here's looking to the future and hoping we start to see some lovely scans and good news from everyone in the next month

Welcome supa! I popped into our local Old Navy last week wiggles but they still only had summer stuff out and I figure I can get away with loose t-shirts etc for the next four or five weeks till the weather turns. Their kids clothes are quite nice and reasonable too! Thanks for the tip.

SBF I have just had a quick look through the stats and noticed there are a few of us in the north west. Will mention it again tomorrow to see if anyone else fancies it. Now that people are feeling better I think it would be a great time to get together!

It is one thing I regret about not staying around after DS1 was born, that I didnt keep in touch with the lovely people that i met on here and that gave me such good advice.

moominmama let me know if you find good teaching clothes as I have the same thinking. Not looked for maternity clothes yet (am just struggling to live in the 2 dresses that fit me!). My plan was to get 2/3 dresses for work and just alternate them and use different accessories/cardi's to make them look a bit different (I only work part time so not so many days clothes needed!). I have some tie up front cardi's I assume will fit me for some time yet (??) and wrap dresses I figured would be good. Not really sure where to go though.....was thinking 'next'.

Phew I have a mammouth stomach but there's no way it can be all baby bump and it's squidgy. I believe it's mainly bloating mixed in with some flab , and painful at that. Gets even bigger in the evening and I look about 5/6 months gone .

I'm feeling quite jealous of everyone actually shopping for maternity clothes. Mothercare seems to be the only shop locally that carries any maternity wear and it's only two rails, so not a very wide selection. None of the high street shops carry their maternity lines so I've been buying from eBay - might as well bag a bargain if I have to order anyway.

angels - if it makes you feel any better, my bump looks and feels very squidgy too but it has a definite bump shape. A friend who is/was quite slim also had a squidgy bump at this point. I think all the fat is being pushed out and is very obvious now.

Hey all...i haven't really said much on this thread, i don't like jinxing!!
I had my scan last week and there was a little bean with a HB and i was 11+3. So not due until end of Feb...26th to be precise.
The whole pregnancy so far i have been lucky, no sickness, just slight nausea when was hungry, but very tired and sore boobs on/off! But i am a complete worrier, actually starting to think i suffer badly with anxiety...i am now convinced something has happened between scan and now....although my boobs are a little sore, i am still fitting into my bras, i have no bump whatsoever!!! if i prod, i feel nothing but a bit of yummy flab, ha ha...is this normal?? Although there was a heartbeat, the baby didn't move...they were trying to get it to, but nothing not even a flinch...just worried its all gone wrong :-(

PinkiePoo I am sure there is nothing to worry about and baby is fine. Sometimes they just don't want to move, it might have been sleeping or just chilling. At 11+3 they're not always doing that much as they're busy growing!

I completely understand how you feel though as it's nice to see, but it definitely doesn't mean anything is wrong. If they had any reason to think that, they would be doing more investigations. My first scan at 11 weeks was also not very mobile, but when I got another look last week (for NS) it was leaping around all over the place!

And don't worry about no bump yet, mine has only just started to look like a bump the last few days, and some people say they had nothing until 20 weeks ish. We're all different.

I too was very worried up until about last week and I have now started really enjoying my pregnancy and kind of 'relaxing into it' more.

moominmama I'm also northwest (East Cheshire) so might be interested in a meet-up.

Deliaskis thank you for reassurance. I have a MW apt next week and i am guessing she will try and find HB then, and i am sure i will stress if she cant....never ending!!

Hopefully i can get to your stage soon and just chill out because i am doing DP's head in!! He thought after scan i would be fine but nope.......!!

will do angels i plan on wearing my maxi dress if i can get away with it, buying some nice black/grey maternity trousers which i have seen in debenhams - redherring section and a couple of loose fitting tops. I wore a few before we broke up which are quite loose which I hope to get another half term out of or so (although they are a size 8 so I may be being a little optimistic there!)

pinkiepoo i honestly wouldnt worry about the bump, with ds 1 i wasnt showing for ages! I remember feeling really silly going for the 12 week scan as I felt a fraud because my tummy was flat (those were the days!!) It took until much later before a bump was visible. This time however it was evident from around 11 weeks that i was growing a bump. Now at 16 weeks it is very obvious.

Like some of the ladies on here, at the start of the day my bump feels relatively small and squidgy, by the end of the day it is huge, solid and rather uncomfortable.

My friend confirmed that I don't look pregnant, just like I've put on loads of weight! Thanks ; 0
Getting married in 5 weeks and having dress stress - do I risk the one I've got fitting (it does now), or invest in a maternity one?!

Hi all - I haven't posted on here in a long while as I wanted to get past my 12 weeks scan, following an MMC earlier in the year - lovely to see so many positive scans, and heartbreaking to see those who have left the thread - I know exactly how they must be feeling.

All is well with me - and impressive stats professor, I will be moving up the list! saw my consultant who confirmed that having reviewed my notes a C-section would be the safest option this time around so I'm booked in! due to deliver on thursday 3rd Feb...

Have just told my boss, but am still trying to keep it quiet from my team for a while... disguising the bump is definitely getting harder - I'm a bit like Sarah Jessica Parker when she was pg in SATC filming- always covering bump with a notebook or big handbag!!!

looking forward to splashing out on some mat clothes, but want to ait until more wintery clothes are in the shops

Not been on here for a while, not since the old thread in the pregnancy section (which I think I started originally!) so big apologies! Just been ill with one thing after another, e.g. sickness, sinus infection, tummy bugs etc, YUK!

Well, I had my 12 week scan and all was well, which is a big relief and my due date has moved back to 4th Feb if professor wouldnt mind updating me?

Sorry to hear all the sad news on this thread, and hope they will be joining other antenatal groups soon

On a more positive note, I purchased some maternity clothes today and also got my free change bag from the Boots parent club, very nice it is too! and I love a freebie

Hey chaps, had my scan today and was very relieved to find that all is well so far. Was great to see baby's arms, legs and things. Apparently I have quite a lazy baby as it didn't move very much for the scan lady and she even made me whack my bum down on the bed to try to wake it up!

The only other thing is that apparently our dates are a bit off and supposedly I'm only 11+3 and am not due till March 6th! But I don't believe it anyway and I don't want to change MN groups now so I'd much rather stay on this one... I promise to try to get him or her out early if that helps...

prof I had a funny dream last night that in you genius with the stats you made them all multicoloured so we all had a different colour . Don't think this is possible, but In remember the feeling of utter excitement at how clever you were to manage it in my dream.

Feeling really sick again this morning and so miserable - after a few days of feeling quite good I thought it was getting better

Back from NT scan at the FMC!

Baby was fine, measuring spot on for dates and wriggling about like anything with a heartbeat of 155bpm.

Crown-rump length 63mm, NT between 1.9 and 2.1mm (so used 2.1 for algorithm), nasal bone present, normal tricuspid blood flow, normal ductus venosus flow, free beta hCH 23.26 IU/l, PAPP-A 2.316 IU/l... which all means that from a base risk level from age alone of 1:132 for trisomy 21 and 1:243 for trisomy 13/18 my adjusted risk is 1:2637 for trisomy 21 and 1:4863 for trisomy 13/18 .

I don't feel like I have much to say on here these days, apart from in response to other people. Having had all my scans etc. and no more appointments for a few weeks, I guess all the things I was obsessing/worrying over are kind of allayed at the moment, and so I suppose I am just getting on with it!

Nice to see a couple of late arrivals and a couple of returning mums-to-be.

Hello, can I join you please? I've just had my 12 week scan so feel like I'm now safe to join an antenatal group! I'm due on the 26th of feb and it's my 2nd baby. I'm 26 nearly 27 and already have a DD who is 3.

Hey :-) Congrats on the scans prof Suzy and zero so glad to hear good news! I have my NT scan tomorrow, I'm trying not to freak out, but reading all this bad news has hit home. Fingers crossed!

I had such a vivid dream this morning, one of those where you wake wondering if it was reality, that I'd had identical twin boys. It was a bit freaky! I had tandem fed them and couldn't work out how to wind them both without leaving one to vomit, but felt such relief when OH walked in and he took one. pokes tummy Hope there's only one in there!! Lots of twins in OH's family, so people have been winding me up that I'll have triplets of quads .

This threads been pretty quietly lately, I hope you are all well! Xx

I'm not sure if it's an uneventful time with less to discuss - what about all the shopping to be done?!:0 I bought my first baby things today. a growbag and baby grow and a pair of socks! this is my first baby, and even though I've seem most of my friends loaded down with assorted paraphanalia, I don't think it sank in how much stuff these little people actually need! Am I the only one?
