Ooh, a shiney new thread!
REally sorry to hear about the people leaving, hope everything goes well for them all in the next few weeks/months
Sorry I've not been on here much, just spent ages catching up with everyones news!
I had my scan last wednesday at 10 weeks, just to recap i'm in Botswana so the systems here are a bit different. You don't see a midwife here, instead it's an obstretrician (sp) straight away. The scan went well, it was an internal scan which was a bit weird, but the picture was amazing! we could see the head, arms and legs - which were wiggling away! And heard the heartbeat, which i wasn't expecting. It definitely feels more real now!
It confirmed the due date as what we'd worked out so no change there.
We've got another appointment on 4th August which is for the Nuchal fold scan. It's a different decision here to what it would be at home. I'm only 27 so definitely have age on my side, but as the health care isn't that great the implications of having a down's baby here are quite big. We've already agreed that we wouldn't terminate if it's down's but they don't advice you to deliver here if there's a high risk of down's due to lack of neo natal care, and possible complications during or after birth. So that throws up a whole heap more questions and decisions!
We've started telling people which has been really nice, our families are all very excited, although my sister gets the prize for best response - she burst into tears on skype and had to turn her video off as she was blowing her nose so much!
Anyway sorry this has been a very me post. Hope everyone else is coping with the morning sickness, and the decisions which need making!
