Hi All

This is the new thread taking over from "Feb 2011... Where only us and a select few know"

So sad that not everyone will be joining us on the new thread but here's looking to the future and hoping we start to see some lovely scans and good news from everyone in the next month

Hey all, very sorry to those of us who sadly couldn't make it from the last thread. Hopefully they will all find good news at some point in the future.

I think I'm seeing the mw next week for weighing, measuring blood pressure, urine or whatever it is they do at these things. I'm still a bit in the dark in some ways as my mw/gp hasn't been all that helpful so far, hopefully that will change next week.

As I don't have my 12 week scan booked until mid august when I'll be 12+6 I've decided to "come out" before my first scan. It feels slightly risky, but as bump feels to me like it's still alive and well, I'm just going to do it. My parents are probably going to go insane with excitement. And my grandparents will be soon to be great grandparents. Weird.

Hope the rest of you ladies enjoy your weekend.

varicoseveined · 23/07/2010 20:38

I've got my booking in appointment on Monday, no word about scan yet so I'll probably hear about it then. Apart from that, nothing to report except feeling very tired, occasionally nauseous and only been actually sick a few times. Very different from when I was pregnant with DD!

Still looking big for nearly 10 weeks, I've had to tell my immediate family or else they would definitely have guessed when they saw me!

wigglesrock · 23/07/2010 20:38

Thanks for starting new thread. Anyone else hit the very emotional, stop looking at me or I will start to cry stage yet. I am 10+3 and yesterday got a letter re 12-14 week scan etc, I completely misread the letter and I thought I wasn't getting first scan, I completely imploded, crying hysterically, screaming at my dh to get me a private scan NOW! (as in 9.30 yesterday morning!!) He reread the letter and tbh took his life in his hands and calmly informed me I may in my excitement have read the letter wrong. I reread letter, wiped eyes, blew nose and calmly got on with my morning and I always wondered where my 5 year old got her melodramatic temperament from .

wigglesrock · 23/07/2010 22:06

Ledkr think you were leaving for your appt tonight, if so hope you get this message, good luck for the morning, know how worried you are, sure it will all be good news.

Wriggles didn't want you to be worried but thanks for thinking of me. nt scan in London is wed but today is my scan booked by gp to calm my fears re no symptoms. Woke up and felt sick tho. woo! Xstacey.poor you. I had two knob heads before current dh who seems perfect but will prob turn out the same one day! as you can tell. don't trust blokes all that much either! still have to keep trying eh? You will be fine and sound very brave.

smallblackflowers · 24/07/2010 08:35

ledkr hoping your scan goes well today x

Chloe55 · 24/07/2010 09:03

Good luck with the scan today Ledkr.

It's my 6 yr anniversay today - mum is babysitting and we are off for a meal then to watch inception (cinema twice in 2 days and I normally hardelly ever go!).

cler · 24/07/2010 09:08

good luck with the scan ledkr. Im terrified about mine on tuesday but also cant wait because ive waited so long for it. Should be 13 weeks then so im hoping everything is all well. I have put loads of weight on and my boobs seemed to have doubled in size in the last week and i now need to go bra shopping because there all bulging out.

ledkr · 24/07/2010 13:22

Hi everyone thanks for your messages. After a bit of a wait we had our scan and it was all well.Hoorah!!Moving about lots and heart beating away. I did cry but have been so convinced for a week its hardly suprising. It has grown a lot since 10.5 wks and is now a normal 60.8mm I am so relieved and also know i am having a pretty symptom free pg and can be gratefull for that.
I dont know how they do things in other areas but i did think it wasnt ideal.Obviously anxious we waited onna few chairs outside the us room another couple arrived the man was dh work colleague and neither of them had told the other re preg wives. We chatted and they didnt seem at all concerned but we didnt ask each other why we there. Then another lady was bought in wheelchair in pjs so obviously an in patientand was visibly distressed so awfull for all of us in different ways.Kept thinking if i got bad news would have to walk past dh friend in tears. Makes you tink doesnt it.

ledkr · 24/07/2010 13:23

Chloe happy anniversary. Never been able to do the meal then fime thing as i feel too full and want to go home for a lie down haha

angels1 · 24/07/2010 14:16

great news the scan went well ledkr - I'm really happy it went well.

I keep praying my ms doesn't get worse (can't take it any more!) and looking online for when it seems to 'peak' but just keep finding horror stories of people who get it really bad late etc. I was trying to make myself feel better that, at nearly 10 weeks, it's possible I'm past the worst, but seem to have managed to do the opposite Am now down to pretty much only eating ready salted crisps and jam on toast!

ledkr · 24/07/2010 14:52

Angels. After all the worry re no symptoms I am now feeling really sick and have headache. for this reason can totally sympathise with you today. I can't do anything have been sat on sofa for ages watching tv and drinking diet coke. Dd luckily has friend to play. are your meds not working anymore?

angels1 · 24/07/2010 15:09

welcome to my world ledkr!! Have been taking max dose of meds for about a month which really help in general, but nothing gets rid of it, it's still quite bad most of the time, but i guess that's better than terrible all of the time! I'm stuck in bed watching an absulte rubbish film with dudley moore and liza minelli. Sad thing is this is the sequal and I watched the first one last week and equally hated it, just too tired to bother to change the channel, but at least it's easy to sleep through!! Hope you feel better soon ledkr.

ledkr · 24/07/2010 15:22

Angels I am downstairs with sky so at least choice of channels ha. Worried now cos sickness that starts at 12 wks can't be a good thing. think I told you before. I had Chemo yrs ago and nothing worked apart from something beginning with z which was very expensive. do you get a headache too? I am now thinking meningitis cos don't have to worry about baby anymore

angels1 · 24/07/2010 16:56

you're not having a migrane ledkr are you? It's just bad headache and feeling sick makes me think it could be (in which case I would think watching TV might make it worse though). I get really bad headaches occasionally too - andI can't do anything when I have them, but they haven't lasted more than a few hours, which is far better than the permenant nausea!. You're not completely through the 1st trimester yet though, so could just be that - a bad day/time until the hormones settle a bit better.

angels1 · 24/07/2010 16:58

oh ledkr I've just seen you're in cheltenham - I have relatives there and in the surrounding area and it's such a lovely part of the world - I love the cotswolds

angels1 · 24/07/2010 17:03

oh, and another one (sorry for the overkill on posts) ledkr that drug beginning with z I've heard to be prescribed in pregnancy, but they don't seem to like to as it's so expensive and studies have shown it apparently no more effective than other antiemetics (although it does seem to work very well from what I've read). Wish I could give that a go but will have no luck if it's expensive from my GP - they've just changed my mums medication to a different drug with more side effects just because it's cheaper so saves them money!! But if yours does stick around at least you know it works and you could take it if it was prescribed.
Sometimes I feel it's a shame you can't legally buy prescription drugs online - if I knew it would help my ms more but doc wouldn't prescribe it only due to cost I'd be tempted just to pay for it myself (under direction of doc)..depending on just how expensive it was I suppose!

ledkr · 24/07/2010 17:50

Awful really isn't it. I do remember my ex dh having a massive strop to get me tabs cos I literally couldn't stop heaving had 3 kids under 8 and he had to work as self employed. They offered respite foster care for kids as if!!did get it but only 2 at a time! ! Bloody joke. are you off work? surely that's more cost to economy etc. Nhs my pet hate. Am mad at having to pay for nt scan at 43 when free in some areas. are you onto come dine with me now? I am. what area are friends here? I have just had a go at dh. Bastard rang to say going for drink after work! he worked till ten last two nights and I have massive day at work tomorrow. I totally over reacted so he is coming home early with take away. feel bad now

tadjennyp · 24/07/2010 17:54

Glad the scan went well ledkr - it's such a relief. I just feel like poo this morning and can't tell if it's because of the sunburn or the pregnancy.

ScMacBt · 24/07/2010 18:06

ledkr* glad your scan went well Changed my name last nite in the middle of a sleepless boring nite (previously xstaceyxcatx)

I think in general trusting men is hard if most of the ones who you've had in your life are shit Ex text today from holiday to say "oh not enjoying this due to you being pregnant and i dont want a baby." Well bloody boo hoo for you you selfish twat at least you can go on holiday and get drunk and do whatever you like!!

Sorry for my rant just so angry at myself that i still love the twat and cant seem to get angry at him

ledkr · 24/07/2010 18:06

Gosh where did you get sunburn? its vile weather here. what do you feel like?

angels1 · 24/07/2010 18:08

ledkr I'm a teacher. was signed off for 3 weeks at beginning, but luckily on holiday now till sept, so I'm no cost for the economy! (I actually planned it in hope of being in first trimester in summer hols so I wouldn't have the worry of feeling rubbish and working, and it worked ).

Yea I caught come dine with me (although I'm sure I've seen that one about 3 times already!). Am trying to drink but drinking any more than a sip makes me feel sick. I've not had much to drink all week - I used to down over 3 litres of water a day...now I can barely drink a few glasses. On the plus side, at least I don't have to go to the loo all the time!

NHS can suck sometimes I know - I find having to wait 4 days when I had bleeding at 8 weeks a long time to have to wait and resent having to pay privately (who fitted me in whith 2 hours of ringing). Also unfair as I probably don't even get one scan on NHS at all until 20 weeks.

I have family in Winchcombe and somewhere else that I can't remember about 15 mins outside Cheltenham. My cousin is in Cheltenham too.

Tarlia · 24/07/2010 18:16

I've just arrived home from a weeks holiday and caught up on the threads. I'm at a lost for words at the sad news My thoughts are with you, please take care.

I so cannot wait for this sicky feeling to stop as it's pretty much stopping me functioning at all. This is my 7th week of it, I can hardly eat, I've not been able to cook a meal, my OH has to make me a packed lunch and take away breakfast in the morning as I cannot eat or even think about food. I can't even think about writing a shopping list without retching, I just do not know what to do with myself, the doctor is uninterested, I'm blaming it on him being male (yes, I'm irrational!). I couldn't enjoy my holiday properly as everytime I moved I felt sick and need to sleep so much.

I know I should count myself lucky but in this respect I really do not feel it. I'm dreading going back to work - my job is very active, I look after children, which i usually love. Feeling really down in the dumps as nobody seems to understand as i try not to complain. I hope I'm not the only one feeling like this as I feel awful enough

I hope the rest of you are feeling much better!

ScMacBt · 24/07/2010 18:17

angels1 in england do you ony get one scan?
