Hi All

This is the new thread taking over from "Feb 2011... Where only us and a select few know"

So sad that not everyone will be joining us on the new thread but here's looking to the future and hoping we start to see some lovely scans and good news from everyone in the next month

OP posts:

Im 15 weeks wed and counting down the days until my 20 week scan. As soon as the summer holidays are over with it will be here. I think i will prob have another boy as i already have 3 so i cant see me getting a girl now. I will be happy either way though and love my baby just the same. Im thinking of getting 3d/4d scan done at around 25 weeks. Has anyone else had one done before and what did you think of whole experience and pics etc.
Ive got lots to do in the next few weeks. I have 3 bed house so need to put all my lads in the huge room which im in at the moment so the baby can have a room. Want to decorate both rooms really nice for them. We have lived here for 3 1/2 years since the house was built and i really like it here and dont want to move so just making space now.
Ive decided that ive got to stop eating rubbish and start eating healthier because ive been putting loads of weight on so im thinking i need to stop it now before its to late and starts to get me down. I hope everyone is feeling well today.x

S.b.flowers. how old is mil? Can't believe she thinks its her business! I am granny and would never have told them what to do! I have in laws here at mo and they are very nice but mil is talking about coming down the first weekend after baby is born which cos I am having a planned c section will prob be our first night home. I can understand it but could seriously cry at the thought of not having my home to myself on first night home! AIBU ? Am feeling fed up already as dh is off to play football leaving me with them and of course they want to do stuff when I just want to veg in bed with dd and watch Alice in wonderland!

ledkr · 31/07/2010 09:17

morning cler. You might have a girl. I did after 3ds like you thought definatly a boy bought boys clothes etc. looks like another girl now too. thought she was a one off. are you going to find out at scan? I noticed with dd I got fatter bum and very easily irritated and got angry quicker. Also leg hairs didn't grow but are w/th this one so maybe is a boy. Wonder what happened to chloe. Bad news do you think?

brockleyD · 31/07/2010 09:24

Hi all, sorry for lack of contact, very busy week at work. Great news about some peoples' scans, so jealous. Mine is a week on Wednesday and I am now 11 weeks and getting very anxious that my symptoms seem to be fading. I am going on holiday to Portugal on Monday eve for a week and even thinking of booking myself into FMC on Monday for a quick viability scan to check baby is still alive, I think my anxiety is obviously motivated by mmc last time. My sister thinks it's a good idea as better to know before holiday then worry all holiday but dh thinks I am being silly! I just want to know if everything is ok!

cler · 31/07/2010 09:24

I will def find out what im having. Ive already conviced mtself its a boy buying boys clothes in the sale. Lets hope its not bad news for chloe. Hopefully shes just been very busy or something. It must be hard if something does happen to come on here and tell everyone, i know i wouldnt like it. Ive been up since 5.30 with my little one who wouldnt sleep and the weather is so rubbish here i cant even take kids to park or go in garden.x

ledkr · 31/07/2010 09:50

Brockley...read back few pages I lost all symptoms around that time and was really scared. Had had scan at ten weeks but still worried. then got spotting so had scan and all ok! am now smug at my lack of symptoms. however if you think it will spoil your holiday then get it checked!
Cler. I am excited for you now. make sure you let us know ASAP. Boys are less hassle tho. mine are all big men now but very funny and all thrilled about baby.dd is beside herself! keeps grinning at me and every time I eat says is that for baby!

angels1 · 31/07/2010 10:17

Yes I was thinking of chloe this morning too wondering how she is...I can't help but think if it was good news she would havw said straight away, but then anything could have happened totally unrelated eg loss of internet.

brockley if it helps I've been suffering big time with pregnancy symptoms for weeks and this week has been slowly improving (I hope!). Will be 11 weeks on mon. On thursday I had my best day yet and was convinced something must be wrong, but had a not particularly good day yesterday, so that put me in my place!! I think some people seem to slowly improve whereas others find it goes literally overnight. But if you're going to get really stressed all through your holiday then think maybe paying for a scan could be good if only to put your mind at rest.

Have a great week end everyone We are spending the afternoon looking around the house we are moving into (anticipated to move december/jan with any luck) to work out where furniture etc will go and what we need to keep/buy/get rid of.

PDR · 31/07/2010 14:23

Afternoon! My colleague who thinks she is psycic has just said she is pretty sure I am having a girl!!! Out of the last 6 babies from me/my colleagues she has always been spot on!!!!!!!!!

Should I enter into some kind of wager with DH as I am sure he will say its a boy!

sweetnitanitro · 31/07/2010 14:32

We set up one of these when we were expecting DD- no one got even close because she was 11 days late

PDR · 31/07/2010 14:43

sweetnitanitro very professional!!!!

linz17xxx · 31/07/2010 15:02

I gave in and bought a doppler to put my mind at ease. It came this morning and I can definitely hear a heartbeat scan on wed so fingers crossed everything is goin to be ok x

sweetnitanitro · 31/07/2010 17:07

PDR it's not my site, I wouldn't have the first clue! It was a good laugh though, I think we will do it again this time and hopefully someone will get it right.

linz17, that's great! I might get myself one of those doppler things, they sound cool. Are they expensive?

tadjennyp · 31/07/2010 17:21

Morning all, hope everyone is having a good weekend. Sorry for the tmi, but last night dh and I had sex and I bled loads and am still losing a bit this morning. I had a smear test on Thursday at the OB/GYN who said I had a polyp. I think this has caused the bleeding and that I have passed it now. Does anyone have any experience of this? I used to bleed a lot after sex anyway so I'm not overly concerned, but typical that it should happen on a Saturday when dh is out with the car and I am on my own with the other 2 dcs!

PDR · 31/07/2010 19:36

Is it bad that I am sitting at work planning my dates for maternity leave Can't bloody wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Think I'm going to take the whole 12 months, plus accued holiday (if they allow me to carry it over but that's another thread)!!!

I only work a couple of days a week but becuase I'm part time I always end up covering for people when they are off ie. tonight!!!!!!

tadjennyp · 31/07/2010 20:17

Not bad at all PDR.

Would anyone else worry about the bleeding in my position?

linz17xxx · 31/07/2010 20:25

The doppler was 60 pounds but well worth it

angels1 · 31/07/2010 20:37

not sure tadjenny as have no knowledge on polyps. Have you tried a thread on the pg section? Might be someone with more experience that could help??

I'm taking the full 12 months off too Decided (work in school) if I can to start it the day before we go back in jan so I finish for the christmas hols but get paid for them....that is if I can. I know it's early to leave but we'll be moving around then so could do with time to organise/pack etc.

tadjennyp · 31/07/2010 21:00

When I started my last maternity leave it was on 1st September, so I was paid for the entire summer hols. (Am teacher, if that helps angels)Sorry was!

PDR · 31/07/2010 21:11

tadjenny did they tell you to expect any bleeding? Can you ring the ob/gyn and just get some reassurance?

angels I am thinking about finishing just before Christmas as my contract includes Christmas day/boxing day and although I've never had to work either in the 3 years I have been working there, you never know and my DS will be 2.5 and just getting into the magic of it all!
Plus I'm totally shattered!

ledkr · 31/07/2010 21:14

Tad. Not got long but yes used to bleed after sex then had polyp removed then no more! if you bleed normally I wouldn't worry too much but get it checked if doesn't stop as mine used to stop straight away after sex

tadjennyp · 31/07/2010 21:48

Twas like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre - not great for post-coital glow . Seems to be no more, so thank you for your replies!

scubamummy · 31/07/2010 22:23

Hello. Tad, def call the ob/gyn just for reassurance. Hope all is ok and the evil polyp has gone now.

Random topic, but had to share. Just treated myself to one of those birth balls - they're absolutely fantastic! Just a slightly more robust version of a gym ball I think, but great for sitting watching the TV or even eating dinner at the table. I had really achy hips but it helped instantly, and I think it's a sneaky bit of core muscle exercise too, my stomach muscles feel like I've done loads of sit ups (which clearly won't happen any time soon)just by sitting on the ball and moving around a bit. I highly recommend! x

zerominuszero · 01/08/2010 07:25

Any of the state school teachers here know if we tend to get full pay for the first six months? I'm really hoping for it as if I don't get it we're going to be a bit screwed...

moonminmama · 01/08/2010 08:04

zero 'm pretty sure it's not full pay, it is for a month or so. Then goes down to 90% then goes down again afterf a couple months to half plus the £400 per months state maternity pay. I'm sure it'll be on the net in more (accurate) detail somewhere.

I plan on finishing at christmas then going back a couple of weeks before the summer. I too am a teacher.

moonminmama · 01/08/2010 08:08

Here you go....
