Ohhh...shame that you were both unable to make it. Perhaps they'll have another v.soon.

goldenoldie · 09/09/2005 15:00

Girls - good to meet you at lunch today.

LilJ - you looked so elegant in that dress - I love it.

Nova - thanks for the idea of getting ds to clean out a few dog kennels to change his mind about having a dog.

Enthusia - loved the e-bay shopping tips - I will keep my eyes open.

JubJub - Hope you manage to get a slot on the local NCT classes eventually.

Text and baby - don't worry about missing it today, I'm sure we will do it again soon.

Tessa - how is your dd?

Busyalexsmummy · 09/09/2005 15:27

BoB-I sent off the forms last tuesday after I saw the midwife and got them signed, so amazingly by the time the moneys in there on monday it'll be a week!!! still cant beleive it, was hoping for it by end of month but so shocked and pleased its come already! especially as with ds I didnt get it till he was 7 weeks old as they cocked it up 3 times and sent it out to wrong addreses. At least next week I can get on and order the buggy and start looking for anougher cot!

Still feeling rather full after lunch, but I must confess I did pop across to M&S on the way back to the tube and got some percy pigs .

I should add to GoldenOldies notes about the rest of us:

Goldenoldie - you carry twins extremely well, and thank you again for arranging the lunch

LilJ - I'd been racking my brains through the lunch if I'd met you before, but realised on the way home that you reminded me of someone I met years ago in Greece

Enthusia - hope your trip to lakeside was ok, I got caught by a huge thunder storm on my way back. And you look fab with your mini bump.

Jenjam - hope you got some useful shopping tips, Enthusia and I could hire ourselves out now to shop for everyone else.

Is it very forward of me to suggest doing something again in 4 wks time?

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying the thunder storms (if you have them) from the comfort of a dry house/ office

babyonboard · 09/09/2005 16:40

busy - thats really impressive! hope it's the same for me when I apply.
nova- glad you all enjoyed lunch and i would love to join you all in a months time..
i'm feeling all hot and bothered, i hate this kind of weather when its hot and sticky but grey and thundery. just got very peeved on the bus - again- damn ignorant people who don't think to offer the elderly or pregnant women their seat- i did my 'bump thrust' but noone noticed.hehe
then a woman with a pram was struggling to get on and it was only me who went to help, before realising i couldn't weell help her lift the pram, the driver told her to wait for a bus with a low floor..and still noone helped so we drove away without her..grrrr

LilJ · 09/09/2005 17:36

It was lovely to meet up today!! It was great to put names to faces and to compare notes on the wheres and hows of pregnancy.

Impressed by how quickly you all posted after lunch. Nova - very jealous of the Percy Pigs, they're my favourite.

I'm definitely up for another one in 4 weeks.

ChaCha · 09/09/2005 18:12

Welcome back

Glad you all had a lovely meet up, what did you all eat then? Go on, make me jealous!
I guess Enthusia will post some pics.. weather here is really strange.

I want a homehelp today. Anyone will do. Just someone to massage my feet, cook me a lovely meal (cannot stomach the thought of a take out) and pour me endless fruit juice on ice...Guess i better be nice to DH then ...

Having a poooooooh day again?

Sorry, going to be a bit sad here. Just read a joke on the back of a Wotsits packet.

What do you call a rich bear?

Winnie the Pools! (Sad - i told you) Ha ha!

babyonboard · 09/09/2005 18:47

wooo...good news for me too! we have been approved a payment holiday on our mortgage, for anything betwen 3 months and a year..
such a relief as money is very tight, and we need all we can get for the baby!

ChaCha · 09/09/2005 20:26

Thunderstorm...hurray!!!!
Anyone fancy a walk?

goldenoldie · 09/09/2005 20:50

Oooooooo, I love Percy Pigs too.

I'm up for another meet in 4 weeks. Any dates we should avoid?

babyonboard · 09/09/2005 20:54

yey..if I am invited i can't make the 12th-16th of october as me have dreaded mil staying! argh!

ChaCha · 09/09/2005 21:02

Typical!
Well for me, October is the month of Ramadan, that means i'll be hoping to fast. Unless it's an evening thing won't be able to make it..maybe i should invite you all here

babyonboard · 09/09/2005 21:13

aaaw..you could just sit at the table with a bottle of mineral water and feel tortured..
no that doesnt sound so good to me either!
i'd be happy with evening..it will suit me better as I tend to hurt and sleep a lot during the daytime

JenJam · 09/09/2005 21:58

hello all,
t'was lovely to meet you ladies today, yummy food too. I have just got in from work (grrr. discovered something nasty when i got back from lunch that kept me there until now) - haven't worked out how to get DP unglued from telly to download picture (I'm not a technophobe but do have a laziness towards learning how to download the digicamera (and upload music) but will do so tomorrow.

be nice to see photos of other people who didn't make it today too, does a central site already exist for this purpose??? shall i organise one?

Golden oldie well done for organising this one. I'm dead jealous of those of you on maternity leave!!! you lucky things

btw anyone else had some very strong movements from one side of their belly to the other??? it's so strong that this evening I have been occasionally yelping in pain from it.

eeeek

babyonboard · 09/09/2005 22:02

yes jenjam..thats what i was saying happens to me at night..surprisley violent movements..
mad how strong these tiny tots are getting
x

novadandypowder · 09/09/2005 22:35

We could always make it for 30th Sept, if that means you'd be able to make it chacha? Other than that the only day I can't make is 4th Oct, we kept the diary free for that month just in case...

I'd rather do a daytime meet again, but could stretch to an early dinner if that suited everyone else.

goldenoldie · 10/09/2005 09:15

Sorry - I can't do evening meets, lunchtime is much better for me.

Nova - good idea, is 30 September good for everyone? Or would you girls not on maternity leave yet prefer to wait till you are off in October?

ChaCha - what about meeting up in early November as well as October, if end of September is out?

Dates not to meet in October

4
12 - 16
26 (no good for me)

Any others?

goldenoldie · 10/09/2005 09:20

JenJam - those movements sound unpleasant. I've been getting strong movements, makes me catch my breath, but nothing that makes me call out in pain - if you are a bit concerned, give your midwife a ring. Better to be sure everything is OK, but the chances are that is baby is moving lots then everything is fine.

Enthusia · 10/09/2005 10:29

Hiya all

Got back from Lakeside pretty late and had dinner and straight to bed, was knackered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love another meet up I can do Sept 30th or any date in October except the 11th at the mo (that is weekdays, weekends are a nightmare). I am better for daytime meetups but could possibly do an evening, by evening I am not good company though!

Yesterday's meet was great, very jealous of all those bumps!!!! It was great putting faces to the names, especially when no one matched up to the image I had (all better obviously ). The lunch was great too, will def be visiting a Wagamamas again! Thank you Golden for organising it. How shall we meet next time, in London or a surrounding area? You are quite welcome to use my house but don't know if it would be worse for other people to get to (it would be good for others to be able to come, it was great fun), it is in Reigate in Surrey, just off Junction 8 of the M25.

I will try and put the picture on the site by Monday!

Special Offer News - Ikea is doing 20% off all bed frames at the mo which included cots, so that might be worth a look, their cheapest cot is £22 but it does not have drop sides. They have a range of changing tables from £12 up, but none in the sale.

Right breakfast is calling, will post other news etc later. BBBYYYEEEEEE

Enthusia · 10/09/2005 10:30

Oh movements - I have had loads, last night it had a private lock in party!!!

goldenoldie · 10/09/2005 10:55

Enthusia - thanks for the discount tip - I will get down to Ikea next week and buy another cot! Can you remember how much the ones with drop sides and adjustable base are?

My vote is to keep to the same venue - it is fairly central and easy to get to without a car - what do others think?

goldenoldie · 10/09/2005 10:57

Dates not to meet

October
4
11
12 - 16
26

Can everyone do the 30 September - it's looking good!

twinkle1 · 10/09/2005 10:58

morning all,
Glad u all had a good meet up,i wish there was more people up north so we could have one, im very jealous.
Im feeling so knackered at the min, even though the kids r back at school.never mind only about 8 weeks to go. I sent off my matb1 and maternity forms to claim my MA allowance yesterday. How long is it before you get a response???? has anyone heard back from them yet??? I also attatched a note saying dont want to go on maternity leave yet but do i just give them a ring when i want to start it?????
Sorry about all the questions.
Time seems to be flying by now, poor dh is in garage as i speak fitting joists for new floor in garage conversion.Poor thing is knackered and im in no fit state to help him At least i have bought most of the stuff i need now and almost packed my hosp bag. I have a feeeling this one may arrive early.
Got some great bargains from boots yesterday. They are selling off lots of baby clothes got a my first xmas all in one (Gorgeous) for 1 pound and other bits and pieces equally cheap,so if you are passing bots its worth a look!!!!!

Golden

Have no problem with Wagamamas, was just wondering about others in surrounding areas, and those with kids. Have no problem either way, I was just wondering about Beks etc in Bromely, didn't know if being able to drive somewhere and it having a place for kids to play without fear of running around, being noisy etc, would be easier for them. One of theose pubs with a kids section would also be an option.

Don't know what do you all feel is best, it sort of depends on who could come as well, I am willing to fit in with anyone - I am easy in comparison to those with jobs and children!!!

rodeo1 · 10/09/2005 11:18

Morning ladies,

Meet-up sounds lovely, just wondering if i'll be able to come down on the 30th? Trains from Derby are pretty good, hmmm... I shall try! I'll need a growh scan around then but they're usually on a Tues.

Well I'm ill in bed, with the laptop because I'm bored, Woke up at 3 in the morn with crampy pains, then again at 5 with the dreaded sickness and diarrhoea - urgh! Not sure if it's a bug, or food-poisoning, but I've not eaten anything dp or the children haven't. Hope it wears off soon.

It's chucking it down here!! So glad I didn't leave my washing out last night!
