There are way too many posts to catch up on, owww CADS as i scanned down the list i noticed you asked after me (self-absorbed person that i am I spotted my name!)
god i've been so busy trying to get everything perfect before my baby arrives. The bathroom will be finished goddamit! James woke up at 7 a.m to find me crunched up underneath the sink gloss painting the skirting board with a gas mask type contraption on. suddenly i came over all strange and had to sit on the staircase clutching the bump and crying because it hurt so much. wonder if that's a braxton? i could hardly breathe! it felt like i had been punched in the chest. i've also turned into troll-bitch from hell - have been screaming at tradespeople, our car insurance company (while on holiday i drove over a metal pipe and it burst the fuel tank full tank of fuel....woe betide anyone who gets in the way of me and my missions to get life straight. bump is huge! i can't believe how big i am and sometimes when he moves it really hurts, not quite kicks but very awkward slipping and sliding around. tomorrow have my 31 week appointment. now did i scan something about a meet up? i'm not on maternity leave until 17th October...am i cutting it a bit fine do you think? i am tired but i'm trying to save all my time to be with the baby at the other side. What are the rest of you planning to do, will get myself a nice cup o tea and catch up on 4 weeks worth of posts
Jen

JenJam · 08/09/2005 19:33

goldenoldie · 08/09/2005 19:40

Yep - 12:30 at Wagamamas, upstairs in the N1 centre at the Angel. Just look for the table of ladies with bumps.

First to get there should bag a table - no waiting outside please.

goldenoldie · 08/09/2005 19:56

JenJam - most of the tables are long tressle things - just go for one of those.

We will be anything from 4 to 6, depending on who turns up.

JenJam · 08/09/2005 20:03

goldenoldie have sent my details via cat - hope to see you tomorrow

rodeo1 · 08/09/2005 20:07

God Jen, I know!! I'm cr*pping myself!! Should be around Oct 12th?? They don't want my uterus to get too thin around my scar, so I'm having growth scans at the mo, next one next Tues, but 'she' seems to be a littley, I'll find out an actual date nearer the time!!

Just sending a subconscious message to the meet up ladies - TAKE A CAMERA

Chacha, I've got the black one as it's the only colour blooming marvellous do, but I probably would have ordered that anyway. It packs really flat as it's a soft case, thats why it looked small, but when you pack it out it's really roomy (not that I have packed it yet ladies just seeing how big it was - honest).

Yay to another one for tomorrow, I think I've already decided what to order. Having a what to wear dilemma now, it's going to be warm but rainy, the worst kind of weather to dress for..

CADS · 08/09/2005 21:46

Hi all,

Can't believe I haven't posted for a week, feels like yesterday since my last post. Have been lurking on and off for the last couple of days but you ladies have been really chat this week and it has taken be ages to catch up.

Londoner - Belated welcome

Jenjam - good to see you haven't fallen off the face of the planet despite your bitchiness.

Tex - Hope your back is getting better?

Have had a stinking cold all week (thanks to ds), which has made me feel sick and given me non stop heartburn. Also, spent 3 hrs down the hosiptal yesterday, it turns out that i have an infected varicose vein and doctors are concerned in case the infection spreads. Have been put on antibiotics and told to rest. I had 4 doctors standing around me insisting that I rest, they didn't seem to get the fact that it isn't possible to sit with your feet up all day, with an active 18mtnh old around. One of them suggested that dh take time off work but didn't have an answer/solution to how we pay the rent and put food on the table!! People keep telling me not to be embarrassed about asking for help, which would be great if I had someone to ask in the first place!!

Got my blood results back from 28 wk check and I'm anaemic which explains why I have been exhausted and feeling faint for the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately, can't take any iron tablets until the varicose vein gets sorted out.

OMG, didn't mean to come on here and feel sorry for myself. Obivously need to get some sleep.

Enjoy wagas tomorrow and send me a no.52 (my favourite).

Take care

hmm dead of you guys meeting up tommorrow, wish I lived a little nearer london and not so far out in the sticks, do take some photos and let us know how you get on!

thanks for the pancake recipes, have had my tea now, but cant wait to try it out tommorrow evening! hopefully they might be edible for a change!

ChaCha · 08/09/2005 22:06

Thanks Nova, I'm still undecided on the colour now though, as if it didn't take me long enough to find a decent bag! Definitely have too much time on my hands.

Cads - Sending you loads of hugs and sympathy! I can imagine how frustrating it must be to be told to get rest but not really be able to - is there no one around (not even a neighbour) to let you have a bit of a break? Let us know how you are and although your DH will probably be tired on return from work is vital that he takes over to give you some rest {{hugs}}

Jenjam - Nice to see you back. Weren't you in the States? I could be confused!

Enthusia · 09/09/2005 07:50

Morning all

Cor there was a load of chat yesterday, it has taken me ages to catch up!!!!!!

Welcome back JenJam, we missed you, looking forward to maybe meeting you today!

ChaCha and Nova - I bought my bags yesterday, found this great shop in Cambridge and bought two bags for me. One is a black shoulder bag with heaps of pockets on the outside and inside, very simple but stylish reduced from £25 to £10 and the other is a wash/vanity type bag with a huge amount of pockets, ties, zips, a rolling comparment for stuff, two ways into the main bag and is just amazing. The first one I saw was a lovely peach colour - not - but out the back they had a gorgeous cream one and that was even more of a bargain, down from £27 to £7!! I was ecstatic when they found the cream one, I am sure they thought I was insane, I mean people do not normally jump up and down at the sight of a bag!!!

Also got a cot blanket for only £3 from babies R us, must be something wrong with the colour yellow as all the other colours were £7 - exactly the same apart from the colour, and I wanted yellow! Went into TKMAXX and found genuine grobags for only £10, but the queue was huge so am going to pop into my local one.

Was looking for moses basker sheets, do such things exist? The pram and crib ones are farrrrr too big!!!!!!

ChaCha - also went into Lush and the same woman was on from my last big trip and she was so nice, took my bags for me (of which I had a few ) and gave me a huge amount of samples to take home, must be at least a tenners worth!!!!

Anyway after all that shopping and in different areas of the city I worked out that I walked about 4 miles, and that is just getting from one place to another, not including around the shops - so felt completely knackered to the point where I couldn't think.

Sat down to wait for DH to pick me up when he had finished only to be accosted (sp?) by a drunk man. He would not leave me alone, luckily DH range just at that point and got very defensive and thought about asking me to put the drunk on so he could tell him to piss off - no way am I giving a drunk my phone!!!!!! Anyway, Dh arrived about 15mins later and I walked off to meet him leaving drunk man swearing at mobile phones!!!!

I am really looking forward to the meet-up today, thought it was meant to be raining though - it is gorgeous here, maybe I just spoke too soon, have no idea what to wear now!

Right better go or I'll have nothing to say later - I am bringing my digital camera by the way!!!!

BBYYYYYEEEEEE

31 weeks today

Oh and Beks hope you are feeling better today, not so hormonal! although you do have every right!

babyonboard · 09/09/2005 08:13

hi everyone..
cads..hope you are feeling better..don't worry we all come on here moaning sometimes!
grr for the drunk man! thats always annoying, there are loads of them in blackheath propping up lamposts and weeing in gardens..not nice!
I may not make it today..so sorry if I don't turn up!
The guests are arriving at 12 and i can't decide if it's rude to abandon them for a while...we shall see

Busyalexsmummy · 09/09/2005 08:18

chuckling here at the thought of you stood in the middle of the shop jumping up and down with excitement about the bag hehehe!

Cant believe ds woke up at 6.20am this morning and i couldnt get away with leaving him there any longer as he was shouting MAM....MAM....MUMMMMMMYYYY......MUM......and banging on his bedroom door! so I dragged myself up and here I am!

Have been seriuosly doubting how I'll cope with 2 children this past week as ds has been satans child which is completely out of character, so I guess this is terrible twos come early. All he seems to be doing is screaming and throwing himself on the floor all the time-for usually no apparent reason...its really hard as Im feeling so knackered now again and it feels like im losing the battle some days, theres crayon all over my wall and sofa(my stupid fault for turning my back and not shutting the kitchen stairgate)and his frustration makes me frustrated as I have no idea why hes being like it.

Im really worried about how I'll cope after the birth with ragaing hormones and tiredness and not being able to sleep in the day, I find it hard sometimes now and have to shut myself in the other room before I lose controlgive myself 10 mins with the tv up so i cant here him screaming then go back a little calmer to sort him out!

I hope you all have a great meet up today, as I said deadof you all and hope that maybe I can make the long journey for anougher in the future.

Enthusia - Also LOL at the thought of you jumping up and down at sight of bags! Well done though on your bargains and what's with the freebies in Lush then? Hmmm..perhaps I won't be feeling well when I enter the shop and will need to sit down and be given some pampering treats....LOL!

BoB - Hope you have a nice day with your visitors.

Busy - Awwwww...are you okay? Wish i could say something to cheer u up but not having kids yet feel that I can't offer any advice, just an ear and some sympathy...so here you are...{{sympathy and tea}}

Have a lovely meet up ladies, eat lots & enjoy yourselves...

sarahsausage · 09/09/2005 09:43

Just had a nosy at the recipe thread, i think maybe for next meet up BoB should play chef lol. Those recipes put my cheesy mash and beans to shame!

Busy - can sympathise totally, my dd is the same at the moment, tantrums, breath holding, i also have pen marks on my sofa and still cannot understand where she found the pen. Just seems eveything in our house needs moving higher a few more inches, her climbing abilities seem to have gotten so much better just recently.

I also have wondered if i will cope with a baby as well as a 2 yr old and the answer is always of course i will, i have to. Many women look after more than one child so im in the "if they can do it so can we!" frame of mind at the moment although im sure ill panic some more before baby arrives.

Have fun at the meet up today ladies and have a tasty pudding for me

BEKsmum · 09/09/2005 10:03

Morning girls, hope you have a great meet up today, sorry I can't make it but my mil has summoned us to Wales as we haven't seen her since Easter

Looking forward to seeing the pictures when I get back on Sunday night.

Busy sweetheart have been there done that this week too, I think they just know that we are slowing down and not able to do as much with them as we usually do and it's frustrating for them. You're doing everything right, giving yourself some space and dealing with him as calmly as you can, i promise I know what you are going through as Ben has morphed into the child from hell at the moment too so perhaps we should swap devil kids for a week and see if we can sort out each others As I said I'm away for the weekend but feel free to cat me and let off steam we all need to do it somethimes!

Bob I didn't realise you live so close to me I'm only in Bromley and Tex is in Chislehurst but moving to Blackheath really soon I think.

Enthusia thanks for the thoughts, am feeling a bit better now, I think it was just one of those days!!! Grrr for you for the drunk, they really freak me out well done you for coping so well with him.

Right I'm out of here guys as need to get ready to go, have a great weekend and I'll catch up with you all on Sunday night or Monday.
Beks (30+5)

babyonboard · 09/09/2005 10:20

wow ..we are pretty local! am I right in thinking Londoner lives in greenwich too?
we are hoping to move to bromley or beckenham soon, as our flat isn't very baby friendly.

Busyalexsmummy · 09/09/2005 10:27

Yippppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

Postlady has just been and I had a letter from DWP saying they are paying my maternity grant £500 into my bank monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SharonTW1 · 09/09/2005 12:31

Hi everyone, Cha Cha I did just that , feel better today for it.
I'm rhesus neg blood just had a gamma (anti D) jab last week, it's so your blood doesn't attack your baby as a foreign body if there's a bleed or anything. If the baby's positive you would need a jab before another pregnancy to ensure the baby's health, my Mum was born a blue baby becuase of it all. Complicated.
Hope you're all well, thanks Goodness it's Friday.

SharonTW1 · 09/09/2005 12:33

anyone else not sleeping at all ?
I see every hour pass on the clock, funny but I'm getting used to it, heartburn back with a veneance this week too !
Sharon 30 weeks today !

ChaCha · 09/09/2005 13:24

Hi Sharon,
My m/w actually just rang to say that the lab have no record of my previous blood sample (this is my worst nightmare come true) and that I have to go to the hospital on Monday to see how my haemoglobin levels are doing and to check for rhesus negative/infections etc.. I am soooo NOT looking forward to it. I also have a dentist appt on Monday but thankfully just to polish/clean teeth. "Tell me why I won't like Monday...la la la"

I hate bedtime now! Don't sleep. I spent till almost 2am last night trying to sleep by reading, walking around etc.. I seem to catch up on sleep throughout the day now and this is recommended in my book - would be a walking zombie otherwise. I feel bad keeping DH awake when he has work and so have been going downstairs but it's crap being awake late at night on your own.

Supposed to be going out this afternoon and can't be bothered. I won't someone to come and make me lunch! any offers?

babyonboard · 09/09/2005 13:48

hello all..I'm a bit annoyed I have missed the meet up lunch as my guests have decided to bugger off out to the tate modern without me anyway..i can't face the walk there and all the strolling around as have a bit of pelvic pain today..ah well
chacha..i know what you mean about sleeping, at first it was just general discomfort, but i bought a v shaped pillow which really helped (though it usually ends up wedged under bump with me on my side..hehee)
now it's heartburn for me too..and the we one has started to become very active during the night..sometimes he'll throw himself around so violently it makes me wake up with a gasp of shock...i agree..thank god for afternoon naps!
busy..congrats on your grant!, do you mind me asking how long they took to procees it?

tex111 · 09/09/2005 13:48

OH NO!! Just doing some housework, decided to see what was happening on Mumsnet. I forgot all about the lunch today!! I can't believe I missed it. It completely slipped my mind. The guys who've gone must try to post a pic. I'm gutted that I forgot.
