Many thanks to ILike for passing on the baton to myself and Harry . I know we are a bit previous but I am worried I will get the timing wrong .

I feel like I have only been here a wee while but it is invaluable to me .

This is a poem that has helped me in the past .

I have not turned my back on you
So there is no need to cry.
I'm watching you from heaven
Just beyond the morning sky.

I've seen you almost fall apart
When you could barely stand.
I asked an angel to comfort you
And watched her take your hand.

She told me you are in more pain
Than I could ever be.
She wiped her eyes and swallowed hard
Then gave your hand to me.

Although you may not feel my touch
Or see me by your side.
I've whispered that I love you
While I wiped each tear you cried.

So please try not to ache for me
We'll meet again one day.
Beyond the dark and stormy sky
A rainbow lights the way.

frasersmummy · 09/03/2009 10:45

poor fmn

I hope she is finding some comfort in the messages of support

My heart goes out to her .. but I cant find the right words to say

But as we have all said better to say something that perhaps seems stilted or not quite right than say nothing at all

travellingwilbury · 09/03/2009 13:03

Very true fm .

How is everyone here today ? My youngest is runnning a temp today but not too bad in himself . He had a hopeless nights sleep but is refusing to sleep today . Means I have to sit around all day giving him lots of cuddles . Bit boring for me but at least I have a good excuse to ignore the mess

Olissa · 10/03/2009 11:47

Hello everybody, I've been pointed in your direction by frasersmummy, who found me failing to make a point on a childbirth thread I don't seem to be as good with words as I used to be...
I'm mummy to Caitlin, who died aged five days on August 3rd last year. Caitlin collapsed a couple of hours after birth - just stopped breathing and heart rate down to 30bpm. They got her back and she spent five rollercoaster days in SCBU while they tried to assess the damage - sadly she couldn't support her own airway and we made the decision to withdraw care. She died four hours later.
I also have a DS who's 2.4. He's kept me sane, I think.
Hopefully I'll have some time in the next few days to look through some of the old threads and get to know everyone's stories a little better, although I have 'met' a few of you about, I think. I'm at home quite a bit ATM as I was made redundant in December too - never rains but it pours. So I look forward to chatting to you all. I put some photos of DS and Caitie up on my profile if anyone wants a nosy.

Thelighthousekeeper · 10/03/2009 13:31

Hi Olissa, welcome to the thread, you'll find all the girls here are a wonderful bunch of ladies and so supportive, I don't know how I'd have got through the past year without them. Its just so tragic that we all have to meet in this way. I just had a nosey at your profile and both Caitlin and your DS are lovely. xx

shabster · 10/03/2009 13:48

Hiya Olissa - welcome to our special thread....so very sorry we have to meet here though.

We all try to help each other - whatever you feel like posting is usually understood by every other mummy on here - no matter how 'weird' it sounds to you.

Have had a nosey at your pictures - you have such beautiful children. xxx

charleymouse · 10/03/2009 13:58

Hi Olissa, so sorry for your loss of Caitlin, she looks beautiful, it brings it back seeing the SCBU pictures. Your DS is a handsome little fella as well. Settle yourself in and put your feet up they are a lovely bunch of ladies on here.
Take care
Love Charleymouse
