TTC after stillbirth

Hi, I had my daughter March 4th this year, she was stillborn at 26weeks. I'm feeling really empty and desperate to try again but we still haven't had her autopsy results, so don't know if its safe. I dont want to replace her - I never could. But at 35 I'm desperate to become a mum and have another try. I've bought fertility sticks and might just try again even before we get her results. What do you think? Has anyone got any advice?

Hi Girls

You lot do make me laugh! Genuinely lol at the white trousers and seat belt sign prediction. Puts packing for down under in a different light!
Hope you have a great trip dalilaa, hopefully you'll get an appointment waiting for you when you get home. Does the hospital know your going away? We had a phone call with a date for our appointment and it was only few days later - don't want you to miss it. I know you prob have told them, its just me fussing!!! sorry

Pinner35 -Have you thought of telling your MIF your plans?
mind you the cheering and whooping may be distracting!

Did a pg test yesterday but it was negative. Think I was a bit early really but got a strong feeling its not going to have worked this month. Never mind though there's always next month. Keeping positive.
Might try the blue moon thing, although I did turn into a lunatic last conception attempt. DP had a permanent scared bunny look on his face whenever I entered the room.

LOL at your poor dp and his scared bunny look minxymoo!!
Think my poor dh has been there MANY a time!!!!

Just to let you all know that I follow this thread every few days but I am desperately trying to 'stay away' from MN as much as possible in the next week or so as I'm on my 2WW after having my third cycle of IUI.
It tends to get a bit obsessive and I also get easily persuaded by (very kind and well-meaning) other TTCers who make me think I am definitely pg this time....even after 20million negative tests!!! IYSWIM.

How early was the test minxy?
Hey listen to me.....I am as bad as everyone else!!!!!

The blue moon sounds really intriging (sp??)....I never knew what that meant!

And dalilaa...I hope all goes well on your Australian trip.....maybe red trousers for the flight....or is that me just being totally grim now??!!
Sorry....!!!

(((hugs))) to all.

Minymoo - MiL assumes that we are TTC, but she is too consumed with thoughts and plans for her daughter (who is pg) to waste time on us. She is a lovely lady but sooo insensitive. When I saw her after losing our baby she said "oooh, you're a lot slimmer than when I last saw you!"

Coggy - I can understand limiting MN, but best of luck.

Thinking of you all.
xx

minxymoo · 30/06/2007 18:24

Hi Coggy, totally understand that well meaning comments aren't always helpful, its really great to see you though. fingers crossed. x

AF not due till next Thurs - if cycle settled- so I think it was ridiculously early to test, my gut feeling is its not going to be succsessful this month, but seem to be ok with it at the mo but could be different by next Thurs!!!

Pinner35 - Think we should start a 'thoughtless comments' page , have a friend who said to me " its quite handy and good timing dp's mother's been diagnosed with cancer, because at least it gives you something else to think about and you'll be able to get your grieveing over quicker" I let it pass, I knew she was finding it hard to know what to say to me. Think we all waffle at times.

I have been catching up as not posted for long time.

I lost a little girl at 25 weeks just over two years ago. All the tests revealed nothing.

I was desperate to have another baby as soon as possible but was helped greatly that I had a child already (shes 3.5). It took ages to concieve and I am now 18 weeks and very nervous.

I am 40 in two weeks so dont give up hope. I did. I waa so worn out with TTC and then suddenly my period was late and I was pg. It was and still is a big shock

Good luck to anyone TTC.

Hey girls, come join me.....AF arrived this morning. Let's get in sync

Coggy -- understand where you are coming from. Chill and join us when you can

ChocolatePeanut, so sorry to hear about your baby. But good luck with your pg. It can be nervewracking. Will be thinking for you. Are you getting good support / care this time?

My MIL said "you wouldn't have wanted three....." and now don't mention. But my mother sends me a little note every year in rememberance.

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 01/07/2007 10:11

USAUKMUM

Yes I am getting good support from community midwife but hosp are treating it as normal peg though I am being seen my consultant rather than midwife there.

Pinner35 · 01/07/2007 20:44

Well, I knew it would happen at some point. MiL managed to reduce me to tears due to yet another insensitive remark. Grrrr... On the plus side, her presence has not stopped us from bding DH is taking me away for a few days later in the week...looking forward to being away from everything and everyone.

ChocolatePeanut - I am so sorry about your baby and glad that you are getting good care.

coggy · 02/07/2007 19:10

I am at your MIL's comments Pinner and your friend too Minxy....althiough I agree...we all 'need' something to say sometimes in these situations and it isn't always the best thing that comes out is it??!!!

I have had one or two corkers I have to say but generally I've been quite lucky with most pepple being very sensitive but also not too overly smothering IYKWIM!!

Chocolate Peanut....so good to hear from you . I started a thread AGES ago to find out how you were getting on.....

So much for me not coming on MN too much!!
Well...I suppose it has been two whole days!!!!!!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 02/07/2007 22:12

minxymoo · 08/07/2007 10:36

Thanks girls - I'm still in massive shock, I've done 4 tests to date and still not sure if I believe it. Its still very early days so it could go all wrong, I think thats why I'm I'm feeling really numb and a bit fuzzy in the head, afraid to feel happy I think.

I am happy though just in a quieter way than the first time.

Sorry rambling!!!!!

coggy · 09/07/2007 22:16

I'll let you all know what it's like!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 09/07/2007 23:52

coggy

im all for alternative therapy,i had accupuncture to help me ttc and it seemed it worked.

praying it happens for you soon
x

minxymoo · 10/07/2007 13:58

Oh coggy I'm so sorry about AF, really hoped it'd work for you this time.
Reiki sounds a good idea and you could also try acupuncture as CHOCOLATEPEANUT suggested. I went to a fantastic woman, Jacqueline Brown, yesterday who specializes in fertility acupuncture, I went for some relaxation help as I'm feeling a bit stressed with the whole thing, anyway I've known her for years and highly recommend you look at her web site. If she's not in your area please do still phone her as she's got connections all across the country and could help you find someone closer to you, she's a lovely approachable person.

Oh coggy . try anything to help you relax.

Minxy -- If found pg after Robert very stressful. I can probably still quote the surival rates for each week of birth. We're here when you're stressing and need to let off steam. Just make sure DH looks after you lots

dalilaa · 12/07/2007 15:03

oh my god i go away for 2 weeks and minxy moo you are pregnant wow... that is amazing and wonderful and I am so happy for you !! I have missed you guys so much but know what you mean by trying to limit MN. Australia was great.. buit still no appointment so it will be 13 weeks on monday.. grrr I missed DH so much while i was away but it was good for me to break the cycle. Don't think there is any news on AF front although I had a weird 3 days where I thought it was starting but nothing much more.. odd but coudl be the system cranking up... keep wondering if I should take a pregnancy test as we have not been using contraception but to be honest i have no signs of anything so I am pretty sure it would be a mriacle if i was pregnant. I do keep wondering if its like coming off the pill as it took me 8 months for a proper cycle then.. Agh anyway enough about me, Pinner glad MIL is not stopping you, am convinced you wont be far behind minxy moo... glad to be back in the loop with everyone will keep all posted on appointment and AF. so happy for you minxy moo I can't imagine how lovely it must feel to have the hope back again. xxxx

dalilaa · 12/07/2007 15:06

minxymoo · 19/07/2007 18:18
