Hi MNers,

Thanks for tipping me off about the message limit on my other thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2725008-Would-any-MNers-be-able-to-help-tonight?pg=1&order=

I am stunned and unbelievably humbled to see that one little post I wrote sparked 1000 messages, and Im so appreciative of all you personal stories and jokes to cheer me up.

MN is offically amazing and you're all fantastic.

DM had a rough night, she apparently woke in the night with a bad headache which I think confirmed the disease has moved into her head (we expected this, apparently what's causing the paralysis often appears in the brain too). Still no appetite and sleeping all the time.

Sad

Hope everyone had a good night. I had yet more nightmares - theyre all about Mum and they all horrible. Shouty I is in fine voice this morning. Dad said he heard Shouty I bellowing to Shouty II to shut up the other day. Pot, meet kettle Hmm

Thinking of you Lemon. Rest, eat, regroup. You were there to the end and glad it was peaceful.

Love to you all, Lemon. You did her proud. Remaining here to hold your hand through the coming days xx

So many lovely words and messages here. Some of them made me cry - it's been 28 yrs since my own dear mum passed away, but sometimes it feels like it was only yesterday. This is one of those times.

So sorry for your loss, Lemon. You've done your mum proud. Her energy and love will always surround you...

I will raise a large glass or two tonight in memory of your mum and my mum, and send you my positive and loving thoughts

I've just seen your post in my lunch break lemon. I'm so sorry for your loss, but glad you were there for her.
We had a beautiful pink dawn this morning for her.

confusedandemployed · 03/10/2016 13:33

I know your DM was very very poorly, as was mine when I endured this many years ago. But if I could choose how I want to go it would be with my family around me and my beloved DD smiling down at me, reassuring me that she'll be fine.

Well done you. It doesn't sound as if it could have been any more peaceful.

Take good care of yourselves all of you. I remember the few weeks after DM'so death as being harder than the actual event. Flowers

Someone gave me a Lemon Candle the other day, quite out of the blue & I thought of you & your Mum. I'll light it tonight & think of you all xx

Hello Lemon

My sincere condolences on your mum's passing Flowers
Hope you are able to get a little rest now, try to free your mind along with her spirit. You couldn't have done any better than you have and I'm sure she knew. I will be thinking of you all Flowers

Justaboy · 03/10/2016 17:38

Well i know it might sound odd but in a way Lemon I'm pleased to hear that news!

Why?, her suffering is now over and shes at peace, no more pain for her and 'tis a weight lifted from your shoulders too that you have borne so very well:)

Of course you'll feel very sad but when you think of the suffering shes been through if it were my mum I'd take consolation that shes now at peace.

Bless her and you and yours.

bec3105 That's a lovely poem that one. I've read it some many times and it's so comforting to think that they are still here still around us!

BikeRunSki · 03/10/2016 17:44

Oh Lemon, I'm so arty fir your loss, but but I also understand that sense of relief. You have been amazing, you couldn't have given her a better death.

TheMagicFarawaySleep · 03/10/2016 18:46

Hi Lemon,

I've read both your threads and wanted to say that I'm so sorry about the loss of your mum.

I'm glad that her passing was peaceful for all of you, and hope that that peace helps you through the next days and weeks.

I can only hope that I approach the passing of my mum, with the dignity that you have, when the time comes. But you have set that bar so very high.

With much respect, prayers and thoughts to you and yours,

Magic

To leave this world in the arms of a loving daughter, caressed by her smile., is such a blessing. Now your mum is at peace and free from pain. It's a hurt beyond hurt that she's no longer here but when you love someone the way you love your mum you want what's best for her, despite the price you have to pay.
There's an Inuit saying of which I am rather fond-
"Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy." May your mum be shining down on you right now, and forevermore.
RIP Lemon's Mum.

boo2410 · 03/10/2016 21:39

Hi Lemon, know you probably won't be checking in for a while but just wanted to say still thinking of you and hope you're as ok as you can be. Take care Football Flowers

FlowerOfTheValley · 03/10/2016 22:25

I'm so very sorry Lemon. Your mum's passing sounds as fitting as it could be in the circumstances with her loving family with her. I hope you will be able to take comfort from that.

Know that your mum will always be with you, in your heart and your memories. Your love for each other will always be there.

Thinking of you all. Take care. Flowers

Coldhandscoldheart · 03/10/2016 22:43

So sorry Lemon continuing to wish you peaceful nights and good rest, to all of you.
please do try to get some rest and time for yourself. It's very easy now to go plunging on with all the things it seems 'must' be done, but most of them can wait.

TheBouquets · 04/10/2016 00:18

Hi Lemon
So sorry to see your sad news. You did a wonderful thing for your mum and family with such dedication. You did all anyone ever could.
Now you need to take care of you and let that lovely DP take care of you.
Hugs

Allatseainthemidlands · 04/10/2016 09:58

Good morning lemon, I hope you've rested a little. I lit a candle in memory of your mum this morning. Praying for you and all your dear ones. Be very kind to yourself today Flowers

GingerbreadLatteToGo · 04/10/2016 10:56

Hi Lemon

I hope you were able to get a good nights sleep. I couldn't after my Dad died, but I didn't have a lovely DP to snuggle with, unfortunately.

Organising the funeral was so difficult, there are so many decisions that need to be made and it felt like everything had to be perfect. So much pressure, whereas in reality my Dad would have said 'None of it matters love. I'll still be dead, but I'll still always be with you. Perfect flowers won't change that'.

Try to take the time you need to, to grieve the way you need to xx

IsItOnTheTrolley · 04/10/2016 13:32

Good afternoon Lemon, echo what others have said, and I hope you did manage some much deserved sleep last night.

I know this will be a busy time now for you, your dad and brother, but hope you all get some comforting knowing, your mum was surrounded by her loved ones as she passed, and that is something to be proud of.

((( hugs ))) and I'm still here with a hand to hold, if the going gets tough. 🌻🌻🌻
