he collapsed at home
I did chest compressions till the ambulance came
they tried for ages but he was gone
I cant stop seeing it
my arms hurt, my heart hurts
I'm exhausted
I cant do this again

My DF collapsed and died at home four years ago and I found the same, the images and replaying the scene over and over and the what ifs.

They definitely do ease its just your brains way of dealing with such a terrible trauma.
I still can't think about that day or see an ambulance without having to divert my thoughts away or I cry but its less often I think of it.

Oh Trinity, sweetheart. There are no helpful words I can offer you, I'm so sorry this has happened - if I was nearby I would be round there like a shot, can only offer you a virtual shoulder to lean and cry on, a hand to hold and an ear to listen.

I'm going abroad in a fews days so will be around at odd hours if you have trouble sleeping and need to talk in the night.
