tbh i dont know what to say - i never expected to post a thread in this section of mn :(

I didnt expect to be a widow at 37 :(

he was severely depressed, and although had some very good days, he also had very bad days and for whatever reason he felt he couldnt carry on and took his own life on Saturday 16th april :(

i know its early days, but i cry every day, silly things set me off, like yesterday changing the duvet cover - it was hubbys's job to do that and i had to do it for the first time

its got to get easier hasnt it? :(

So sorry for your loss, I know that's not much help, just don't know what else to say, wish you were round the corner, to just come and give you a hug and make you a cup of tea.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/05/2011 19:43

thank younokissymum

That's okay, you"ll get through this, will be tough, but you"ll get through it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/05/2011 21:51

b) apparently im very strong - thats what everyone tells me

FlubbaBubba · 25/05/2011 07:23

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/05/2011 07:44

1 thing down and tons to go :)

but least seems money is finally rolling in

barclays have transfered the money from dh account :)

oh big hugs to you, you must be so drained. Any chance of taking yourself off for a relaxing massage in the evening, then running yourself a warm bath before sniggling down in bed with a good book?

ChippingIn · 25/05/2011 09:11

Blondes - sadly even if you mentioned another 10 banks/insurance companies etc that were crap I would believe you! It's incredible how insensitive & just plain STUPID some people are!

You are such an action woman!! You have achieved loads and have so much else underway.

It's good that the money is starting to sort itself out - it's one less worry.

I'll take the heat off you a bit shall I.....

Piste oh pistey one - I don't have mine backed up either and I would be beyond devastated if I lost stuff on my hard drive. I need a kick up the bum to go and get an external HD and back up. But last time I tried the HD killed my laptop and it took me 2 days to resusitate it - I'm worried :(

RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/05/2011 13:25

Well that didn't take long at all to get the bereavement fund did it?!
Really glad it is with you Blondes...

Just the other stuff then. It sounds like a busy day again for you tomorow..

Chippin - whereabouts in the world are you?

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/05/2011 17:21

thanks flubba a massage by a semi naked male sex god would be nice :)

yes payments are finally happening

and ironic the one that i thought would never pay out, actually paid out the first (life insurance) Shock

will go and kick sander's arse tomorrow (with a chai latte)

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/05/2011 18:14

I'm not sure if it would be better to have the Chai Latte before kicking arse at Santander, so you are fortified...

OR

Having the chai latte afterwards to celebrate successful arse kicking..

Hang on... I've thought of a third option

Just have two chai lates tomorrow Grin [thumbs up]

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/05/2011 19:22

2 is good :)

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/05/2011 20:44

Two it is then... Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2011 08:50

big clap and sensitivity award for o2 :)

i cancelled dh phone last week and within a day they had switched off and got a letter today saying they are sorry for my loss and wavering the last bill of £60ish and account is now nil

now why cant other companies be that professional and nice and helpful?

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2011 10:58

More financial piffle - Santander have now sent form back as needs to be signed by a solicitor before I can have the money in it - WTF ?

OP posts:
TheOriginalFAB · 26/05/2011 11:06

Well done 02.

Angry at Santander. Ring and ask them why it has to be signed. They should be accountable to their demands.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2011 13:33

so 2 weeks since funeral and nearly 6 weeks since dh died, and have managed to stay nearly a week by myself at night - each night does get easier, but i still dont like it

fab i did better than that

went in today with my dad and he basically told the man who served us (F) last time that he was incompentant at his job, that he should have known needed a soliciters signature

he then asked the man (F) if he thought he had given us the right advice and (F) dithered, dad asked for a simple yes or no and man wouldnt answer

so dad said that he wanted to talk to the manager about compensation as i was told the money was meant to be in my account 5/10working days- so tomorrow as did it 2 weeks ago (day after funeral) and (F) said 2 weeks ago that everything was done and he had 'sorted it'

no manager today at the branch so hes going to see them tomorrow

never piss off daddy blondes

but if i was a little old lady who got that letter from santander saying must see a soliceter to get it signed, she would prob be scared shitless

OP posts:
TheOriginalFAB · 26/05/2011 13:36

Well done DaddyBlondes.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/05/2011 13:50

Am so glad you have a fierce dad Blondes!

Hugs ((B)) for nearly a week of staying alone overnight, it is a big deal, and you are doing so well, hopefully you will soon start to increase the amount of sleep time you get. It's all small steps

Santander sound like another company where people don't know what they should be doing, or don't care enough to do it. No customer service -you need help right now, and they are failing to deliver. Its so crap.

Are there any good companies out there you wonder? Growl.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2011 13:51

o2 seem good and caring :)

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/05/2011 14:08

ooo I'm with O2! - god I nearly fainted at the thought of any company behaving decently! Shame they are the exception not the norm.

FlubbaBubba · 26/05/2011 14:08

Good for Daddy Blondes! :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2011 14:55

just got a letter from dh business insurance have cancelled his policy and said they will send me a cheq for the rest of policy - be about £35 - so will see when that appears .....

natwest were good for paying mortgage off and no early redemption

02 good and quick and sensitive

simply business after their phone call have seemed to pull their finger out of their arses and see when cheq appears

barclays so so, but least i have the money

bereavement fund takes time and hassle (nearly 6weeks for one simple payment) but again least i have it

so holiday and santander to deal with - apart from van which will be sold as and when
