oh meggle - well done for getting the appointment.

I hope the scans will be able to give you some answers.

Have you got a partner or someone who can go with you?

RubberDuck · 23/03/2007 11:53

I'm really glad that the GP took you seriously, Meggle - keep us updated, won't you? Hugs to you and the little guy...

chipmonkey · 23/03/2007 11:58

Oh, Meggy! You poor thing! You must be so worried, please keep us posted on your ds.

CODalmighty · 23/03/2007 11:58

where aloha?

sunnysideup · 23/03/2007 12:07

meggle, well done for getting him seen. I'm sending hugs to you and ds. xx

HotXMum · 23/03/2007 12:09

Go to GP as that is where HV will send you in any case. Do it now rather than later. I had similar with my ds and they like to act upon these things quickly.

Ds had just pulled a muscle and seemed to get back to normal.

HotXMum · 23/03/2007 12:10

Ha, just seen that you have done that, well done, hope you feel better now you are investigating it.

Aefondkiss · 23/03/2007 12:14

megl I hope you get the app very soon, what a worry for you.

nogoes · 23/03/2007 12:20

God, I really hope everything is ok. Take care.

smoggie · 23/03/2007 12:26

Megglevache - I'm not supprised your head's in a spin. Please try not to worry too much, he's in the system now and it sounds like they're doing exactly what they should to get to the bottom of this. Thinking about you and your LO {{{{hugs}}}}.

Oh god megglevache, you must be so worried. Good on you for getting it sorted so quickly- I agree, ring the doctor now and get him admitted. There may be no real clinical need for urgency but you need answers. xxx

PigeonPie · 23/03/2007 12:54

Oh Meg, that's bloody ridiculous. Hope that the GP can get a quicker date, otherwise turn up at you're local A&E. Thinking of you

Hulababy · 23/03/2007 12:55

Oh, how worrying for you and what a joke with the urgent appointment time. Really hope your doctor can sort something out earlier!

If you take him to A&E am pretty sure they cant turn you away. And even if you are "in system", surely for example if a child deteriorates while waiting for appt over a month away their parents would take them to A&E. Hope this makes sense. If you are worried, please take him. You are not a timewaster and your GP noticed a prob straight away, which the docs at hospital will also see.

sunnysideup · 23/03/2007 13:29

Meggle, I think the doctor sounded quite definite that if the scan wasn't forthcoming he would asmit your ds to the paed ward - there's no reason he wouldn't succeed with that, I would think it will be ok and your ds should go in to be looked at on Monday.

I'd have no compunction about going to A & E though, if for some bizarre reason your gp can't get him in next week. But I think you should be fine, the GP should sort this. xx Glad your dh is with you.

Twiga · 23/03/2007 13:50

Meggle, glad you got an appt ok, and great that your dh has come home too. So hope you get the answers you need quickly. Keep us posted, will be thinking of you.

misdee · 23/03/2007 13:54

oh meggle, this must be so hard. hope the doc is quick at getting ds scanned.

Laura032004 · 23/03/2007 13:55

Any news back from the GP yet?

I'm sure that he'll get you in on Monday - they always have spaces for emergencies, or they'll cancel patients coming in for routine non-urgent treatment.

If you don't have any joy though, I would definitely take him to A&E. If you say he's had a bump or something, and you just wanted him checked over, and just mention your ongoing issues, then they will probably just do the scan there and then if possible, or admit him until they can do it. They might know what's really going on, but I'm sure anybody with kids would empathise with your situation.

(((((big hugs)))))) Hope it all gets sorted soon.

jalopy · 23/03/2007 13:56

Sorry to hear about your little boy, Meggle. If your son is admitted by the paed team on monday, they can organise a sooner ct scan if necessary.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 23/03/2007 14:01

oh megg

Good your GP has taken it seriously. I'm sure he will sort it for you.

margo1974 · 23/03/2007 14:15

Meg - I hope your DS gets seen soon

This has me in tears for you megglevache, I so hope this gets sorted out ok for you all

Mums always know when something's really up
xxxxx

aol · 23/03/2007 15:40

Ring the GP back in an hour or two and see if you can talk to him.

Say to the receptionist the magic words "He knows what it is about and I said I'd get back to him this afternoon." He will probably either chase up a cancellation scan appt or get your ds admitted.

If none of this is forthcoming, cut out the middleman and take him to a and e.

All the best.
