thank goodness he has been seen so quickly. I hope the MRI scan on Sunday goes well - daft thing to say, but you know what I mean?
thinking of you meggle xx

Gingerbear · 24/03/2007 06:47

cross posted with you meggle. You are pregnant aren't you? You can't take Kalms or anything like it with Valerian as an ingredient. I think it will be difficult to find anything you can take

amidaiwish · 24/03/2007 06:58

if you get a chance see a homeopath? they will be able to give you something. camomila?

re non boisterous activities, do you have a "cafe craft" or pottery cafe near you? Mine love that.

McCadburysDreamyegg · 24/03/2007 06:58

Meggle thinking of you, don't really know what to say except that I'm thinking of you . It must be a very worrying time for you >>

DANCESwithaTruckLoadOfMiniEggs · 24/03/2007 07:04

Your ds sounds gorgeous! I really hope you get some answers (and some sleep soon)
I'm not sure if this is ok in pg but I've heard lots of people recommend drops of lavender water on the pillow to help sleep. (((hugs))

Glad to hear you got back home.
I hope you get some quick answers for your ds. He sounds gorgeous and a real trooper.

About the sleeping, I am sure someone on my old ante-natal thread had some sleeping remedies prescribed or recommended by her MW.
Maybe gove her a call and ask.

Laura032004 · 24/03/2007 07:24

Glad to hear that you got home last night, and that things are moving along.

How about a visit to an aquarium or something? DS1 loves those, and a slow walk round would be great.

As for the sleep - warm bath (or does that wake you up, it does for some people), and a milky drink? Even just lying in bed with the telly on to distract you will be better than pacing round or sitting on the computer.

Take care.

Miaou · 24/03/2007 07:38

Megg - glad you are being seen, and so promptly. I hope you manage to have a relaxing day today and get some answers on Sunday.

How about a trip to the cinema today?

aprilmeadow · 24/03/2007 08:21

Megg, just seen this thread. Sorry to hear about your little man. Gald that you didnt have to stay in hosp over night, its hard enought oto get comfortable at in your own bed when being this huge. Take it easy today.

Thinking of you x

Creena · 24/03/2007 09:54

Just seen this thread, Meggle - sending you lots of love and hugs. Glad that diagnosis and treatment is underway; look after yourself and, if you get a chance, let us know how you got on once you're home from the hospital.

margo1974 · 24/03/2007 10:11

A sleep CD? they might sell those in the health shop

Blu · 24/03/2007 10:20

Meg - so sorry you are going through this.
DS has had an MRI scan...have they explained how they will do that? DS was sedated - it isn't a traumatic process.

I really feel for you, having to get through the w/e - any waiting for answers is horribl, isn't it?

Hope you manage to have a good day today megglevache. And can get a decent night's sleep.

funnypeculiar · 24/03/2007 11:29

Glad things are moving so promptly for you megg ... and your ds sounds like he's coping wonderfully - what a star - it's amazing how much kids handle that we would expect them to find hard.
Keep us informed of how things go with the scan
xx

sunnysideup · 24/03/2007 12:46

good luck meg, thinking of you, dh and ds and hoping all is sorted asap; your ds sounds ADORABLE, putting up with everything at the hospital so graciously he's obviously a star.

Fubsychicksnbunnies · 24/03/2007 12:52

Hi Meggle, sorry to hear about this.

Agree that MRI would probably give them more useful info.

Good luck, hope it all goes well. Try to keep yourself occupied in the meantime. Ill be thinking of you all.

hunkermunker · 24/03/2007 12:55

Oh, Meggle, how worrying for you - does sound like your DS is a total star. Hope you get a speedy answer - am very glad they've been so thorough x x x x

ShowOfHands · 24/03/2007 13:15

Hi Meggle, hope you are having a lovely calm day with what sounds like a wonderful (and obviously well-raised, takes-after-his-Mum-type ) boy. Otherwise am hoping you may be getting a bit of sleep. Even if you can't sleep, lying down, deep breathing and closing your eyes will help you to feel better. I can't help with stopping your mind racing I'm afraid but second chamomile and warm baths if possible.

Wishing lots of love and luck for all of you. Take care of yourself.

xx

CoteDAzur · 24/03/2007 16:16

Hi meggle - Nothing useful to say, just wanted to send a virtual hug your way. What a trying time for you and your family.

Keeping my fingers crossed that all will go well, and a rapid diagnosis will lead to a complete cure! Take good care of yourself, your bump, ds, and dh. Lots of love.

imaginaryfriend · 24/03/2007 18:25

meggle, sorry not to reply sooner, I hope things are going ok.

In answer to your question, it's all very vivid in my mind. I took her to the GP on a Wednesday evening thinking they'd tell me to go home and not be paranoid. That evening we went to A & E and had blood tests and an x-ray and went home. We went back the next day and they did an MRI scan and we saw various paediatric specialists. In total I think we had a firm diagnosis within the week.

Wishing you lots of love & luck for tomorrow xxxxx

Your DS sounds charming!

LittleMonkiesMum · 24/03/2007 21:48

Hi Megglevache, reading thread with interest as DD just started limping. She's only 17 months though.
Good luck with everything.
Valerian is an excellent natural sleep aid, a cup of valerian tea, although the taste is decidedly 'dog on a string', is brilliant to drink in bed.
Huge good luck for your LO.

PeachyClair · 24/03/2007 21:56

Hi Meggle

Read your posts with empathy, as my son regressed last year )he has lost his language a(nd lost his toilet training after several months dry as well). It won't be due to the same thing- Harold is 99.99% certain ASD and what your son has IS NOT a symptom of that, but I know how heartbreaking it is and I really feel for you!

Really hope everything goes well tomorrow. Your son sounds like a gorgeous little chap, and you sound like an excellent Mum.
