DS says mama, dada & nana, but doesn't know what they mean yet, so I'm counting that as babbling. Apparently mine was "readitbook" (a request said as one word).

So, I'm being nosey - What was your first word?
What did your baby/ies say first & how old were they?

Managed to un-earth the diary from when DD was learning to talk.
First 4 words "Mama" ( so I did get a mention ! ), "Dada", "bir' " (bird) and "bubu" (for teletubbies) Blush - but we did have them as cuddly toys and not just on the box. I guess that dates our era (2000) pretty accurately too !

First phrase mentioned is "There you go" as DD hands me "The little book of calm" Grin

My daughter's noises are suddenly sounding a lot more wordy, to the extent that I'm sure she's saying things but I can't tell what they are yet. At the weekend all four of us distinctly heard her say "I want Mummy" when she was crying on her father's lap! Of course we could all be having concurrent hallucinations as she is only 6 1/2 months.

I bet she'll be a really early talker scvariousnumbers ! Keep a diary, you think you'll remember but it's not so easy ten years on !

My daughter's first word was 'shoes'! I was so proud :-D
The other one was 'uh-oh'.....

mybootsaremuddy oh dear, I say "big smelly pants" quite a lot (instead of swearing) - can see that is a likely contender for 1st sentence, isn't it..? Blush
