I have a VERY unusual name. In fact its so unusual that if I told you and you googled it the only thing that would come up would be my Facebook profile (I tried it......so as I may need to post incognito one day I can't tell you.

Anyway despite not being paricularly thrilled with my name when I was a teenager, I love it now and would love to name forthcoming DC's with something unusual.

What are the most unusual names you have heard of for both sexes???

I looked after a boy called Zeppelin. I came across a pair of brothers in a soft play area called Nike and Armani.

wotuhohohoinat · 26/12/2008 20:54

I taught a kid once whose mum was called Dallas. Caused much hilarity in the staff room.

NiceShoes · 26/12/2008 20:54

lalalonglegs · 26/12/2008 21:19

Oh, and one of the women in my NCT group called her baby Arwen after the character in Lord of the Rings...

lalalonglegs · 26/12/2008 21:24

And I've just remembered that the woman who served me at my insurance brokers was called Dimple... At school, I was in a class with a girl called Georgina which isn't outrageously unusual but her dad was called George and her two sisters were Georgia and Georgette and her brother, inevitably, was also George. Maybe that's more weird than unusual.

NiceShoes · 26/12/2008 21:31

Did Cobweb have any siblings?

Jer'Tarme (Girl). Apparently it means "I love you" in French.

Well someone ought to tell them it's not spelt like that, so doesn't mean "I love you"

Lonnie · 28/12/2008 16:04

I knew a man called Orm once (that means Worm in Danish and his mother was Danish - father Chinese)

I knew a Florianna (I do love it though think it is soo pretty but that is pretty unusual)

and dh's best friend went to school with sisters called Harmony Rapsody Symphony and Melody..

And as a child I knew twin girls called Annemarie and Marieanne
