Sibling for Cassiopeia

Already have a Cassiopeia Pearl who goes by Cassie, what would you name her sibling? (we don't know the gender yet)

I'm currently loving the nickname Queenie but am looking for a more formal name, so far have Quinn and Juno (which means queen)

Other names we have been considering:

  • Beauregard/Beaumont nickname Bowie
  • Nicodemus nickname Nico
  • Hugo
  • Roman
  • Kit (as a nickname)
  • Eden
  • Indigo
  • Gwendolen nickname gwennie

Jaxxson nn axxon?

Or kaiden-jai ? Or kobi-Daxx? They'd certainly go with the theme.

I reckon ops bum nipped up just reading them and she nearly closed her blinds in her persimmon built semi , in case the neighbours heard ! But of course, with her list of names , everyone will surely accept her children as firmly middle class ya know. Let's hope they don't mix with daizee-hunny and dexter-kaii!

Ps 'Nicodemus' how did you write that with a straight face ? It sounds like a skin disease!

JMSA · 06/04/2025 15:56

Frank 😄

aylis · 06/04/2025 15:56

Beau on its own is probably the nicest option. Cassie and Beau sounds nice.

Hubblebubble · 06/04/2025 16:03

Calliope nickname Callie. Cassie and Callie

MinnieCoops · 06/04/2025 16:06

Andromeda goes with Cassiopeia

How about

Hercules or Perseus for a boy.

Astra or Aurora for a girl.

Congratulations.

Not Congratulations. Unless you are a fan of Cliff Richard.

Zenith
Titan
Mimas
Nebula

The Cassiopeia I know has siblings Daphne, Niobe, Euridice and Danae.
Personally I’d get away from any theme and think more multisyllabic, towards Angharad, Sheherazade, Evangelina, Perpetua. Though Ariadne would also be tempting.

Quinn is quite American in my book and would be n alliteration with your other child. Juno is ok.
Your taste in names is not the same as mine at all so I don’t love anything that you’ve picked very much and think they’re mostly a bit pretentious. But it’s not my baby.
Nicodemus is terrible though - what’s wrong with Nicolas?
Hugo, Eden and kit are the best I think.
Please remember they will be adults one day. Is an adult Queenie what you want?
Also it’s had to pre-empt nicknames unless they’re very obvious like Cassie.

Queenie sounds very chavvy IMO.
Kit makes me think of PE Kit.
but these names are really awful and I agree - they will hate them as adults

Wigeon · 06/04/2025 16:23

Sticking with the Greek theme, how about one of the Greek muses? Clio/Cleo and Thalia are the more regular girls' names but you could go with one of the others if you want your kid to have to explain their name every time they say it.

onestepfurtheragain · 06/04/2025 16:27

Some of these are more like appendages than names. Surely a child should be known for their personality, not the extreme nature of their name?

Rainingalldayonmyhead · 06/04/2025 16:37

OP please consider that while it’s perfectly fine to give your kid an unusual name you don’t want them to hate it later on nor do you want people to make fun of them nor do you want employers thinking anything negative (sure they aren’t supposed to but it happens).

I think you should consider your choices again.

can’t decide if this whole thread is marvellous or toe curlingly awful…

I’m surprised people think the child would have a difficult life. The most my friend Cassiopeia has got is mild surprise when people realise what Cassie is short for. She’s done well at work and in life in general.

AdaColeman · 06/04/2025 16:47

Queenie would work well as a nickname for Regina.
I also like Belinda and Dido.
.

For a boy maybe....
Arcturus
Oberon
Castor

Miaowzabella · 06/04/2025 16:55

Orion
Perseus
Andromeda

I think Persephone -nn Percy for a girl as Cassy and Percy go together well and she has the long formal name like her sister. Could be Persephone Anne - with the Anne being Queenie?

Queen Anne - same as others suggesting Victoria Elizabeth etc

Yes surely a wind up? Just why would you?

I have never met a child in this neck of the woods with any of these names .

I thought it was just me 🤣

Imagine in a few years your little Isla coming to you and saying WHY didn’t you call me something cool like Queenie , Nicodemus or Beauregard like my friends at preschool !

Some of the names in this thread are NEVER gonna be on a water bottle in Skegness 😀

BumbleBeegu · 06/04/2025 17:10

I can’t even! 🥹

Do you even like your children?? 🤯
