Perspicacious for a boy

I know the practice of giving babies' grace names has fallen out favour, but I've always loved it. Bearing that in mind, I'd love to hear your opinions of Perspicacious for a boy. It means ''having a ready insight into and understanding of things' which are qualities I'd like my child to have. Saying that, I'd appreciate feedback.

I like it!

Musmerian · 21/08/2022 10:17

Surely it should be Perspicacity though. It’s Patience and Prudence not Patient and Prudent.

iwishiwasafish · 21/08/2022 10:22

I like it!

I prefer Owen to Jeremiah for a middle name.

Does it flow?

I like Invincible, could always shorten to Vince

I used to have horses called Invincible and Victorius. I think they’d make great twin names! They flow well. 😆

Ooh, Vince & Victor, very nice!

Willowkins · 21/08/2022 11:26

How about Ken? It means knowledge, understanding, or cognisance; mental perception. Or if you need the adjective, Kenny 😁

sangletea · 21/08/2022 11:29

Is your surname, super calorfragilistic ex-pialidocious?

I now have "we'll drink, drink a drink to Lily the Pink the Pink the Pink" in my head.

Isn’t that Efficacious? Which is just as great a word as perspicacious. And an equally silly name.

I see Efficacious as more of a girls name TBH. Effie for short.

I'm another one with "Lily the Pink" going round my head since last night Grin

How about Medicinal-Compound?

Or "Invictus"

I learned from the "Jill" Pony books that Invictus means Unconquered , long before Prince Harry and his Invictus Games came on the scene

😂Audie
Brilliant!

Off on a complete tangent... I love the name Audie. (Audie Murphy - most decorated US soldier WW2)

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 21/08/2022 11:48

I've already told you, I can't say, my DH ha a niche hobby.

You do realise once he's born you will have totally outed yourself anyway if you go ahead with your planned name?

BeggarsMeddle · 21/08/2022 11:49

OP - you could go for Perseus, although the meaning wouldn't fit the 'graces' theme.

Titsflyingsouth · 21/08/2022 11:56

Oh for goodness sake, no!

It'll be constantly mispronounced, constantly misspelt and your kid will be singled out wherever he goes as being the boy with the insanely complicated name....

Why give a child a name that proves nothing but an albatross around his neck? There are plenty of other perfectly functional names out there....

lifeturnsonadime · 21/08/2022 12:04

Imagine choosing a baby name that doubles up as a tongue twister!

Go for it OP.

He'll thank you for it (not)!

WitchBaby · 21/08/2022 12:06

I like it!

DillonPanthersTexas · 21/08/2022 12:15

It will sound great being called out in Waitrose

Thoroughly enjoyable wind up thread. Thanks to OP and all the comedy genius PPs for a very entertaining 20 minute read!😂

Same.
Can we start a new one but more covert? 👀

LittleBearPad · 21/08/2022 13:48

I do like Audacity.

Just think how his future headmasters would welcome him into the school.
