Predictions? (Not sure if this thread has been done yet?)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BeKindBeYou · 10/10/2021 15:48

I think it’s next Monday?
I wish it was tomorrow, lol!!!

Cbeebiesrehab · 10/10/2021 15:52

Ah bugger!!!! Got my dates wrong 😂

OP posts:
bloominglovelyorange · 10/10/2021 17:07

🤣🤣🤣 got me excited @Cbeebiesrehab

Yes it's next monday ❤️ Let's reconvene then!

lemonyfox · 10/10/2021 17:24

Noah and Oliver top 5 for boys! Probs Amelia and Poppy and Olivia somewhere in the top 10 for girls too. I don't think there'll be much change.

I'm predicting a rise in popularity of Felix though, I'm hearing it a lot recently!

Comedycook · 10/10/2021 17:25

I reckon Theo in the top five

BeKindBeYou · 10/10/2021 17:29

Remember this was covid year so I am thinking we will see a rise of names such as ‘hope’ & ‘faith’

MooseBreath · 10/10/2021 18:06

I think Arthur is moving closer to number 1. Same with Theo and Albie.
For girls, I'm hearing a lot of Arya and Elsie.

LyraVega · 10/10/2021 18:13

We're planning on calling our daughter Lyra and I think that will have had a steep rise.

I'm a bit miffed as we chose the name 10 years+ ago but we still love it enough to use it even with its increased popularity over recent years.

SALTyartist · 10/10/2021 18:16

At work we have many, many Arthur’s, Henry’s, Alfie’s (Artie/Archie etc) Noah’s and Finley’s

Girls it’s all about Isabelles, Elsies, Ella, Isla’s (usually followed by a May/Mae)

RavenclawsRoar · 10/10/2021 18:17

I've heard of about 3 baby Florences born in the last year so I wonder if that will have moved up.

RandomCatGenerator · 10/10/2021 18:18

I reckon Noah will be high - agree with PP that Hope, Faith, Grace will likely have risen too

finallychangedmyusername · 10/10/2021 19:19

We had a thread about this previously and these are mine (copied and pasted from last thread!)

My predictions for the boys:

  • Oliver still to remain at 1st, and George at 2nd
  • Alfie and Archie to fall out of top 20
  • Teddy, Edward, Theo and Theodore all to rise
  • Noah to fall, but still be in top ten
  • Hugo to rise from 48th
  • Bobby to rise from 68th and Robert from 115th
  • Eli to rise from 107th
  • Oakley to fall out of top 100 (at 98th in 2019 data)
  • Dexter to rise from 114th
  • Otis to rise from 124th
  • Vincent to rise from 136th
  • Nathaniel to rise from 137th
  • Logan to fall from 29th

And the girls....:

  • Harper to fall from 29th
  • Willow to rise slightly from 19th
  • Penelope to rise from 41st
  • Top 20 to remain with majority of names starting with a vowel
  • Arabella to rise from 71st
  • Anna to rise from 82nd
  • Thea to rise from 46th
  • Chloe to fall from 39th
  • Margot to rise from 94th
  • Lara to rise from 97th
  • Beatrix to rise from 164th
  • Seren to rise from 196th
  • Phoebe to rise slightly from 22nd

I'm ridiculously excited about the release. Grin

bloominglovelyorange · 10/10/2021 19:29

@finallychangedmyusername loving these predictions! Hope the Dark Greener website is updated soon after the stats too..

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 10/10/2021 19:32

I placing my bet on Rainbow having a steep rise.

I don't think they release middle names because I reckon there's a few Coronas as a middle name!

QuiltedHippo · 10/10/2021 19:33

Theo has to be in the top 10 surely

35andThriving · 10/10/2021 19:33

Arlo will rise.

Starlight39 · 10/10/2021 19:35

Arthur and Arlo increasing in popularity I think. 3 out of 10 babies at my baby group were Arlo!

CaffiSaliMali · 10/10/2021 20:20

I think Harry and Henry will rise. Pretty much everyone I know who had a baby boy in 2020 named them Harry or Henry.

Arthur and Charlie are other ones I'm hearing a lot.

I can see Lyra rising on the back of the new TV adaptation that started in late 2019.

Otherwise I think names ending in an O sound like Hugo, Milo, Arlo and Jago will rise, esp. Hugo and Arlo.

Crunchymum · 10/10/2021 20:27

I'm very excited too!!!

Although I don't predict any major shocks. In fact I think there won't be much movement at all.

AdriannaP · 10/10/2021 20:31

Oh yes definitely a rise for Lyra.
Wonder if Lilibet will feature at all?

Arlo and Milo are beautiful names, couldn’t use either as DH didn’t like them 😕

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 10/10/2021 20:41

Too soon for Lilibet I think.

Archie and Louis maybe.

mum2jakie · 10/10/2021 20:44

@AdriannaP

It's the 2020 stats so Meghan's baby wouldn't have been born until the next year. Think it was a fairly niche name so can't see Lillibet making last year's top 100
toadstool32 · 10/10/2021 21:01

We're probably going to call this baby Theo but sounds like so are the rest of the world!!

BeKindBeYou · 10/10/2021 21:06

Captain Tom was a big star last year so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Thomas/Tom rise :)

35andThriving · 10/10/2021 21:41

I also reckon Dorothy, Cora and Indie will have risen.
