I heard a name when I was pregnant but didn't use it. My friend has similar taste in names and is pregnant now and I'm trying to remember this name to suggest!

It's not Dexter. It's not Alaisdair or Hamish. It's not Ruaridh. But it's along those lines I think. Can anyone think of any of those types of names and see can I ring a bell?!

PawsomePugFancier · 23/10/2018 09:42

Is it Dalzeil, pronounced Dee-Ell? That's a Scottish surname and it's common to use surnames as boy first names in Scotland?

Shadow1234 · 23/10/2018 12:28

Have we found it yet OP????

QuestionTime2018 · 23/10/2018 12:59

Fergus
Fergal
Struan

StripyDeckchair · 23/10/2018 16:08

@Pawsome - Dalziel is a very good call. Is it ever used as a first name?

What about Dashiell OP? Not Scottish but I'll guess anything at this point! Please don't leave us in suspense!

LynetteScavo · 23/10/2018 17:09

AvoidingDM · 23/10/2018 18:29

I've never came across a Dalziel however there's a first for everything.
I do think it would work as a first name.

Shadow1234 · 23/10/2018 22:18

IVflytrap · 23/10/2018 23:01

Kester?

MrsGollach · 23/10/2018 23:04

"I like Sholto and Ossian".

Good grief.

Threeminis · 23/10/2018 23:21

I'm desperate to know..
(Not helpful at all, I realise this)

Politicalacuityisathing · 23/10/2018 23:29

Nothing to add except I love Kester (and Evander). Even if it's not Kester you should suggest that one. More people should be called Kester.

sleepycat13 · 24/10/2018 06:36

never heard of Kester as a first name and rarely as a surname. although guess there is a trend for surnames as first names

I have not watched a thread so closely for such a long time. I need to know the answer!!

don't have any more suggestions though I'm afraid

gingergenius · 24/10/2018 07:41

Absolutely nothing useful to add but a) I really want to find out and b) I wish I was pregnant again as some of these names are gorgeous!

3out · 24/10/2018 18:38

Kester wouldn’t be my first choice, just because it sounds a bit like keester
