Hi all,

My little boy arrived yesterday... He is an Easter Baby! Easter Wink

We are so stuck for names - our styles are way too different.

DingleberryFinn · 28/03/2016 21:44

Brandon?

SoupDragon · 28/03/2016 21:45

Rubio?? What sort of name is that??

HerbieRidesAgain · 28/03/2016 21:46

This may have been a suggestion already but would it work if DH compromises to have one off your list for the first name and he can have any name he likes as middle name?
I quite like Mason, its not too far out there

dementedma · 28/03/2016 21:48

Petroc
Sid
Archie
Vincent (Vinny)
Bob
Harrison
Sylvester
Gabriel
Fergus

GreenLounger · 28/03/2016 21:48

Rubio is a Spanish name, but we have no Spanish connections Confused his only agreement regarding is Jack as first and he picks middle, if not "he will be sticking to having one of his names" Angry

It isn't fair, he has never been like this! Can I actually register on my own? If he keeps pissing me around, I just might!

Wanderingwondering · 28/03/2016 21:48

Dexter
Rudy
otto
Leon

dementedma · 28/03/2016 21:49

Rubio Jack is plaaaaaaay
What about Gus?

evenoldergregg · 28/03/2016 21:49

What a beautiful baby. Congratulations.
Lucian,
Pablo,
Gabriel,
Claude,
Vaughan,
Julian,
Nico.

dementedma · 28/03/2016 21:50

Oops, that should say okaaaaaay

HerbieRidesAgain · 28/03/2016 21:50

You only need him there to register f you aren't married and want him on the birth certificate. If you are married you can register him alone - but in honesty would you want to do that?

Wigeon · 28/03/2016 21:52

Poor poor OP! How about Cassius? I have a recent-ish baby Cassius in my family (not my own DC). Actual name unlike Oak or Nixon or Saxon but still unusual.

GreenLounger · 28/03/2016 21:52

No, I wouldn't, but he isn't being fair. He's actually really unreasonable about it. He thinks I'm actually better off being the one who carried him, so he should be allowed and not me.

OP posts:
QueenOfThorns · 28/03/2016 21:52

Either of you can register him alone if you're married. You might want to stop him leaving the house until you've reached an agreement...

Voteforpedr0 · 28/03/2016 21:53

Matthew or Alexander both could be shortened to Matt or Alex/sacha/xander very cool yet would not sound odd in, say, a few decades time. The names on your dh list would not be fair on that perfectly beautiful baby boy

Wigeon · 28/03/2016 21:54

Does he realise Jack is super dopa popular, unlike his entire list?

I am pretty sure that there is a law that you can't call a baby born August if it was born in March.

Wigeon · 28/03/2016 21:56

I'm also with the PPs who suggest a more traditional name which has a funky abbreviation, like Lex for Alexander, so both of you are happy.

SoupDragon · 28/03/2016 21:56

he will be sticking to having one of his names

I would be telling him where to stick his bullying and to stop being a twat.

GreenLounger · 28/03/2016 21:56

He does, but he then gets the middle name he wants too. Sad

I know I have long, but it's upsetting. I'm trying really hard and his name is really important to me!

OP posts:
JacobFryesTopHatLackey · 28/03/2016 21:58

He's being a total arsepart.

HerbieRidesAgain · 28/03/2016 21:59

Does he like Oscar? nn could be Ozzie or even Car if he wants a totally off wall nn

SoupDragon · 28/03/2016 22:00

Have you tried asking him why he's being so nasty and bursting into tears?

I'm not usually one for that kind of tactic and I am always strongly on the side of both parents getting a say in the name but it does have to be both parents who love the name.

SpidersFromMars · 28/03/2016 22:00

Oscar
Marcus
Bennett?

Raeray · 28/03/2016 22:01

Could you each pick one from each other's list or each pick your favourite from your own lists and both call baby it for a day and see if either grow on you both?
